I have (Qtek 1010) PPC . and i want to programm
the problem that i am facing is how to access the Build in GSM port in the set, and how to write a program that dealing with the gsm by send and receiving SMSs .
do any one did that or know anything about it .

well.. greetings to everyone. My first contact with this fabulous source of knowledge was last year. İ ve bought a t mobile mda2 from Germany and the salesman told me that "the device includes english menus" . And i have no idea about their language. So i started to look for a solution in the net. Being a dentist in Turkey does not much help in technical subjects. Even though a man like(motto=they develop i use) me was able to convert the machine to an English ROM even with a newer add-ons. And nowadays i am using a ROM merged by sin 2003 SE and perfectly happy with it.
None of this devices are sold in Turkey so my friends who loved the PDA at the first sight had to look for it across the europe and internet.
Last week a very close friend of mine asked me if he buys xda2i from germany that i would somehow convert it to english . depending on the xda-developers site i said that it wont be a problem.
Thinking that alpine is only a himalaya with 1.3 camera i tried to update the machine with sinmerged 2003SE. And after that i recognised it as a fatal mistake. Now my friends XDAIIi cannat even boot. On its screen you can only see serial v1.01. and when you connect it to the computer you can only see usb 1.01 on a grey unlighted screen. I tried to install the english rom and ofcourse recieved a country id error which i could not solve. İ tried to find the original german ROm and i could not find it even in o2 official site.
So is this machine dead? please help me .
non of the htc devices can share roms
and alpine also have a different cpu, and wifi
they just look alike
Goto http://myxda.com and download the launch rom for the Xda2i. Then it will work.

No Mikee4fun it doesnt work like that. Because if i download that version of ROM and try to install it, the country code id error message stops the installation. Because my friend bought if from Germany. And O2 germany site does not hold a copy of the german ROM.
Thats why i need help. Because i tred every other and legal solutions.
İf any body knows how to pass the country id code error message please help me.
You need to use the the xda 2 nbftool located at the following to make the UK rom work with the O2 German XDA IIi unit. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=xda2nbftool Read it and gooduck.
no rom editing for alpine
again thanx for the effort mikee4fun but these editors are only working with himalaya (MDA2-XDA2) ROMs. No one knows the password for the ALpine(XDA2i) ROMs.
So the kind of editing suggested by you can not be done.. Thats why i am asking for help!

im werner from germany and first there are excellent people in this forum. many thanks to this peoples. my problem is designed as following. by the way i am a great newbee in pda.
i get a second hand qtek 2020 from vodafone as a gift and i want to upgrade to any english version. i have to install some programs in english so i dont want install the programms on a german user interface.
so i had read and read and read postings in this forum an finally i upgraded my device to helmis version of wm2005. my device is working properly but when i want to phone i see "no service" in the display. so i have upgraded to radio version 1.18. same problem. can anyone in the forum help me to fix this issue??

does it work with other simcards as some sim cards are simply incompatible with some devices
and did you unlock the sim lock ?

many thanks for your help , i tried it once more and installed the rom on my phone again. i did not make the hard reset on my phone correctly. the phone and i hope all programs works now very properly.

99% of O2 Atom life in Saudi Arabia has the problem of
( ERROR : customer or model Id Error ) while updating any of the new roms from O2 web page .
after my deep investigation about this issue i found this : on boot load screen it tells USB detected ( while its not connected to the usb cable ) and you can not run any function inside the boot loader screen , although the great service center team in Saudi don't know how to fix this problem .
it will be really highly appreciated cause it will not help only me to fix my device but lots of other users have the same problem .
When you get into the Welcome screen of DSUU, open X:\Windows\Temp\pass.32 (where X is your computer's system disk) with an hex editor, and you will surely find something valuable
i did like you told me but i cant do any thing with thi srom files . please give more explinations
There are 3 characters in pass.32 that is related to the identification process, like "WWE", "CHT" or something else. For example, if you want to flash an English ROM into a traditional Chinese device, just change it from WWE to CHT. I don't have ROMs in other languages, so I don't know what language codes stand for others.

Use something like WinHex...
did the language modifecation with winhex , WWE / ARA but still having the same problem with the same error message
Well... I don't know much about that... Hope somebody will help you in advance...
You can give another try... Do not change language code, do not enter bootloader and run DSUU directly when you synchronized the device using ActiveSync with your PC.
i have the same problem here and as hero said lots of us in saudi arabia cant upgrade with the same problem
