Hi,
I have a Far East XDAII, bought in Hong Kong, In English. When I try to regiter to the Far East O2 site to pull the upgrade, it requires a phone number that obviously I do not have.
I was considering making a ROM upgrade with the UK version that is available without any registration.
NOW: Is there a risk here? Is there a chance that the process will not complete for problems of different country code?
OR; Maybe mine is already a UK version... , SO how do I check this?
Please help
Thanks
Yuval

According to this page: http://www.htc.com/europe/support.aspx, there will be three different versions of the official Android 2.1 update.
The new Build number after the update will be 2.73.405.93 (EU); 2.73.405.94 (Nordic) & 2.73.405.95 (Greece/ Ireland).

I'm assuming each version will just have different languages but... why would Ireland not be part of the usual EU update? People here in Ireland speak English, so you'd expect the software to be the same as used by the UK. (I very much doubt HTC have translated Android into Irish!)
Are there regional technical differences? Can anyone think of any reasons why Ireland would share a ROM with Greece?
Bump?
Anyone have any ideas about this?
No idea why, but I tried it in the UK and ended up with the .95 version! I had been on the rooted 2.73.405.66, set my date forward and got the update. But it didn't seem to offer much at the moment, so I went back to my old rooted .66!

Hi guys,
I'm desperately searching for the X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_VFE-DE VFE 1234-4587.zip firmware.
As multiupload seems to be down, there's no chance to download it from there...
I tried several other sharehosters - but: no luck...
Has anyone access to this German Vodafone branded X10 2.3.3 firmware?
Thanks so much for helping me!
/x10sw
I have some ROM's but not in german
Thread may be closed.
Someone provided me a file and I'm fine now!
Thanks,
/x10sw
Would someone kindly provide this file also for me?
Thanks in advance!
I've got only X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_1241-1846.ftf If you want I can upload it.
Hi dedeman,
thank you for your kind support.
But your firmware isn't with German Vodafone Branding, is it?
I need any German Vodafone firmware, doesn't matter which version.
Yeah, it's generic, not branded one. But why are you looking for Vodafone rom?
Because of the late updates of branded Vodafone devices, i have debranded my X10.
So i have the generic german firmware since more than one year ago.
Now I have a problem with my device and I think Sony will not accept this defect as warranty because there is not the branded Vodafone firmware on it...
Hi!
I'm looking too much for the firmware with the vodafone branding!
Has this any person?
If so, then a great big thank you ever!
regards,

Just checked Navifirm, the unbranded AUS and Telstra Portico ROM's are now available for download!!!
GO GET EM!!!
which benefits in what way??
What are the difference's between unbranded and branded beside's the boot splash screen and telstra apps?
On the unbranded AUS can you still achieve Telstra 4G?
My phone was imported from France, just curious.
Edit:
Nevermind just read your response in another topic
Edit 2:
Works perfectly, testing out camera. Trying not to think tooo highly of it, so I don't feel let down
Would you be able to upload the unbranded AUS ROM somewhere or point me at where I can still download it from now that Navifirm doesn't list it anymore?
I reflashed my Telstra branded phone to a Singapore variant due to problems trying to get a Vodafone SIM to function in a stable manner and although it seems to have fixed most of the problems I'm guessing an Australian ROM would be better seeing as it's running on Australian networks.
Many thanks
I recently received the iii and I really enjoy it so hoping to overcome some obstacles so I can enjoy the full experience.
It was preinstalled with Hong Kong firmware, I successfully flashed it with Sea firmware but I have had no improvements. I am hoping to enable VOLTE and access all my telcos frequencies.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
I successfully flashed my Hong Kong version phone with the US ROM, so you can try to flash it if you found a ROM for your country. Also try to install or update "carrier service" in google play.
I updated carrier services and nothing has changed. I might flash another region onto the phone as there is no Australian region available at the moment and I don't expect a version to be released.
