xda speaker phone always on - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

hello,
Unfortunately when I press send on my phone it always replies that the speakerphone is on, the phone then makes the connection but it is not possible to speak to the other side or hear them. This was probably caused by a power surge when I charged with a car battery. When however I leave the XDA plugged in it works as normal.
Does anyone know how to resolve this, would it be the battery in the XDA or could it be resolved by a total reset of the software?
Regards
HW

no reset no battery, the problem is that one o more pin in your connector on XDA.
I have resolve the problem insert slowly the pen in the connector.
probably is one contact in your connector.

i think i blew my xda to kingdom come

XDA was working fine - i stupidly plugged in my old Nokia charger to the XDA connector and charged it up - i thought everything was OK.
NOW - the PDA side works fine - but the phone will not work - i can dial a number it will say calling - then say call ended and just stop.
The phone works fine when plugged to the charger - i have tried decharging the battery and recharging from scratch - but no good.
Any ideas?
Should i try and find a new internal battery.
Any opinions will be gratefully accepted
Thanks
Hmm
Hello Fox321.
Can you pls post the technical specs of this Nokia Charger ?
This will surely help our xda-tech-pro's to check this matter.
However, if the PDA side is working well, it let's me a little in doubt that charging will have caused this problem.
Have you already checked to take out your SIM card and re-insert it ?
How about a cold reset ?
Have you looked at the phone settings - Network ?
Can you make a automatic and/or manual Network scan ?
Does it show a"current network" ?
Can you post as well your device informations for the ROM and RSU Version ?
Posting problems adding as much informations about the device and the issue itself will help finding a (possible) quick solution.
How did you manage to plug a nokia charger in to the xda, I never knew you could, all nokias I have seen have an ordinary mini jack plug.
simply just plug the charher (mini jack) into the xda charger (adapter) plug. should be no problem with a nokia 6150 charger. same voltage only a lower amper.
I agree the problem sounds more like a broken SIM. Try using another SIM.
nokiachargers can only deliver 800ma
xda charger gives out 5volts at 1 amp
nokia charger can blast out 4.5volts all the way up to 9.5 volts
so if it did it wouldnt really effect your gsm part of the phonas its charging your battery not the signal lol

I screwed up my xda I think -does anybody has a suggestion ?

Hello,
the folllowing thing happened to me :
- at a certain point i couldn't charge my xda anymore, and so the battery went down. no light appeared when connecting to the charger. and i couldn t start the xda anymore off course.
- i read the articles about the fuse which could be hit; and because i couldn't reach the spare fuse for the external battery, i simply soldered a solder bridge in the place of the fuse, as someone mentioned in another topic. i put everything together, but still, totally dead : no lights.
- now i don't know if this xda is totally lost or if i can do something about it. it could also be the charger which is broken. it doesn't get warm when i put it in the 'wall'. how can i check this ?
- if anybody has hints about what to do next or just trow the thing away, you could make my day ! many thanks in advance.
thomas.
You could try a usb sync charge cable, it maybe the battery has died completely also. Did you test the fuse before bridging the connection? Have you tried using the hard reset button, this is in the hole next to the headphone socket.
- i don't own such a cable, but maybe i can find it somewhere, as the qtek 1010 is not very widely spread in belgium, i could search over the internet instead of a shop.
- i did not test the fuse before removing it and soldering the bridge. which is probably quite stupid of me. the hard reset button didn't do anything and still doesn't.
- the battery could be dead also, but should'nt i see a light flashing when i insert my charger ? so my 'forecast' is that it could be a charger issue.
- maybe i could test it with someone elses charger here in belgium. i live in ghent, so if anyone is from near my place, i am willing tot travel to test your charger. i won't steal it, but then i can buy a new one over the internet.
if anybody has other testing methods for the charger, please let me know.
a simple question : should the charger get hot when plugged in ? because mine doesn't and i don't know if it ever did.
thanks for your answers ! and hoping to reanimate soon.
The charger would normally feel warm when plugged in.
err my charger's pretty cold actually...
Mine is too now that I checked but it gets warm while charging, my ipaq charger is warm when plugged in and not charging, any idea why this should be.
Can anybody help me with the following ?
i'm quite stuck in the thinking concerning the problem ...
is there anybody in europe who has a tech experience with the qtek 1010/xda and thinks he could arrange the problem i mentionned above ?
or is there anyone who knows such a person, because he had the same problem.
I want to let someone look at it, with, off course, a possible compensation in money. Is there anyone who could tell me how much this more or less could cost ? [because i am a student and use the phone mainly for testing purposes]
Thanks in advance !!! t.
Maybe a friend at college has a simple voltage tester you could use to test the charger output, the charger I have has a removable adaptor at the end of the lead, with this removed you are left with a simple barrel type connector which is very easy to test. If you cannot get a replacement charger and yours is faulty, send me a pm, and I will post one to you.
Anyone in europe who can repair my xda 1 ?
Hello,
i'm still stuck with a broken xda, as described above. Is there anyone in europe who has spare parts of the xda and is willing to repair this item ?
It would be great if anyone could help me. Please let me know what arrangments can be made. I am living in Belgium, Ghent.
thanks in advance.

Testing powersupplie
Hi!
I don't know if this could be helpfull, anyway: If you still think this is a charger-problem, then you could modify your cradle as described in the wiki. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WallabyCradleMod
And another thing as well. I noticed that the main charger is making a loud fuzzing sound when connected to power, so I guess that if your's silent and cold, it might be broken. (Which is not too problematic as it can be easily bought on eBay.)
What power-connectors do you use in Belgium? I have a spare-adapter that I'm not able to use as it does not fit in the Norwegian connectors...
Good luck with the phone!
Same Problem after plugging in my ipaq 3970 gps reciever
I got the Same Problem after plugging in my ipaq 3970 gps reciever, anyone got a clue where to go with this??
iPaq pinouts...
The pin-outs is not the same on the xda and the iPaq, so power in the wrong direction may have damaged the mainboard. And that would be differcult to repair I think!

[Q] Weird screen problem

Hi,
I've had a problem with the phone out of the box: when the phone is connected to the charger (non Samsung charger) or the USB in the computer, the touch screen bearly responds. I try to use the phone but it's like the touch panel does not respond, or sometimes it responds and some time it doesn't. Once I disconnect the charger, it goes back to being fully functional.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix this? Is there an app in the market to test whether there is a problem?
Gosh, I hope this is not a HW problem..
Thanks.
I'm guessing that the flow of the electricity might be causing interference to the capacitive sensor as I've experienced this a couple of times on my SGS1.
Haven't had this issue though on SGS2.
Some of the HTC Evo 4G phones had a similar issue when it was launched last year. HTC was able to fix it with a software update. But I don't know if your phone ihas the same underlying cause. If it is easy for you to return, you may want to try that rather than waiting for a fix.
I have a Galaxy S1 and had a similar problem. I bought a non samsung usb cable to charge my phone and it caused it to be unresponsive while connected. As soon as I disconnected it, the phone returned to normal. I bought some samsung data cables from ebay and never had the problem since.
A friend of mine had a Blackberry (i think), and used my samsung cable to try to charge his phone in my car. It never worked.....or atleast his phone never said it was charging.
My guess is the cables may have the same connector, but the wiring my be different.
I could be completely wrong though, but this is the experience I had with the original galaxy s
I've had the same problem with the galaxy s 1. No matter what charger I used though charging via usb made it better.
Happens with a lot of phones, Aridoasis above hit the nail on the head.
If you read the manual you will see that it say that that will happen of you are connected to an unstable power source. Which I think will happen when the cable used to charge the phone somehow doesn't match it.
This happens to me when I used a standard micro USB cable to charge it. But goes away when I use my ATRIX's USB power charger

Was it plugged in? Also, this should have been posted in the Q&A section.
no its not plugged in. It thinks its charging via usb

I always get that notification when i am charing my phone in my car and i turn the ignition off. I think the line gets a spike, because all the other equipement shuts down. Never had on USB charging or regular charger. So probably your power source isn't stable.
This has happened to me a few times. I purchased a longer usb cable from ebay but for some reason, I got this message also. Once I switched to a belkin cable or the cable included with the phone itself, all was fine. So it could be a faulty cable - or you may just need to reset to stock and go from there.
its not a charging problem its when the phone is disconnected

Then likely its the fault of the USB port, or the battery. I'm no expert on hardware issues however, I do know that moisture buildup under the battery cover or in the port has the potential to cause this issue. Try leaving the phone in a bag of rice for a few hours. If that doesn't work, you may have to think about sending it to Samsung for repair.
Seriously this question have been asked for zillion times, try to use search it help!
All you have to do is to clean ur usb port, i used a needle scratched it abit and moved the center piece back to the middle, this should help, if it didn't you need to change ur USB board
Already discussed here, Google search would have retrieved it:

Issue with Magnetic Charging Cable

Hi All,
I recently purchased a Magnetic Charging cable for my Xperia ZU, but the moment I connect it through either Laptop or original sony charger, the phone re-boots. It does charge the phone, but at some particular orientation of magnetic side connection, phone resets.
Anyone else having same issue ? Any solution ?
Thanks

I've read it somewhere that charging the phone the upside down could brick the phone.. reset was the symptom. I have sony magnetic charger and it will not allow me to plug in the other side around. The most i get is the touch screen is not that sensitive after plugging the charger and it will refresh my current running app/game. Been using it ever since i got my device and so far no problem.

Thanks @wtfhax for your reply.
I think it was reverse connection which made phone reset. As I read in the links sent by you, magnetic charging cable is not a good solution then, since it can damage battery. I'll avoid charging with this cable now onwards and will stick with USB charging.
But, I think, this is a bad design from Sony. There should have been a protection in-built for reverse connection as well.
Coz the charging port are never meant for non genuine magnetic cable...
Just be careful if u still wanna use it by marking TOP on it...
Reverse polarity might cause the circuit to malfunction...

hello
its supposed to do that m8 connect the magnetic chargers the wrong way round the the phone instantly resboots
to add..
Faced the same issue myself.
To add to this, ever since I have used the magnetic charging cable, my screen flickers - dims at times, phone doesnt respond and wat not. Thinking to reset factory or root it out.
Guys, would CYnaogenmod help?

Those problems occur during charging??
I have 1 magnetic charging cable that were bad and it tends to charge n no charge...
Better to use high quality or genuine 1 instead...
My magnetic charging cable pulled the whole port off the side of the phone.
My Sony battery case did the same.
I like the ultra but it is not built to last.

there is if you look at the contacts on your phone you'll see the contact on the right is more oval and the cheapo charger cables don't have the facility to detect the difference.
