Anyone have an issue with their touchscreen where there is a "dead spot"? I don't know how to describe it other than that. There is a spot if I touch it, nothing happens. It is right where the Accept and Download button is on the market in portrait orientation. It seems to be all the way across the screen in a horizontal line. Pixels and color are not affected just the touch effect. If i reboot, it goes away for a while. Switching ROMs makes no difference, happens on every one I have tried though, so it seems to be a hardware issue. Any help would be great.

If you had searched the forums, you would have come across this, which will solve your problem.
Also, it's not flashable so unzip it and put the apk on your phone, install it, then run.

Try to find the HTC Calibrate.apk and push it to System/Apps... It'll Definitely Help!

Really? After about 1.4 seconds I had 4 touchscreen issue threads (including this one.) pop up after searching "touchscreen issue" in the "search this forum" bar. Did you fix your problem?
No go.
Well the HTC Calibrate app did not work. I must say that it did help for sure, but the same dead spot issue keeps happening. OK, so now I have begun to look at replacement parts on Ebay. So just to get this straight, it is the digitizer/front glass assembly that registers touch, correct? As I said, there are no missing pixels or colors, so does that rule out the LCD? Or should I but both to be on the safe side? I really want this issue done and over with, so help me get this thing taken care of guys. Thanks to all you guys for the help. Also, if anyone has a digitizer and LCD assembly for a good price, let me know.
I had the same issue where the bottom quarter of my e3d hboot 1.5 didn't work I didn't have insurance so I took it in and the sprint manager said I wasnt the only one with the issue it's a htc issue I tried the calibration on different roms bit it would only give you calibration on the top half of the screen, spent swapped it out and I got a new e3d with hboot 1.5 of course but at least the touch screen is working.....hoped that helped you out cuz I searched everywhere and couldn't find a solution.
I was toying with that idea. Will the "watermark" from unlocking a 1.50 hboot version be a problem? Obviously I need to unroot. And also, I bought this phone from an individual just a few weeks ago after I got my first one stolen, will this be a problem? Any other thoughts on taking it back to sprint?
Yeah, it is really weird, it is exactly where the "Accept & Download" button is when making a market purchase. So, yeah it sucks, I have to rotate it horizontal every time I want to buy something
I have been having lots of touchscreen issues as well. Tried lots of different roms and kernels but no luck. Someone suggested formatting the SD card. I haven't had access to a computer so i just removed the card about an hour ago to test and so far i haven't had any issues.

I had the same problem with ICS, but i downgrade to GB. First I did the "sunbath", and works, but some apps started to crush. So I decided to go back to GB. Until now, it works flawless. I lose a couple of functions, but it's better than the "sunbath".
UPDATE1: After a couple of weeks the problem came back. Anybody, got a solution other than throw to the garbage the phone?
UPDATE2: Well, I really don't know what makes appears the touch screen problem again, but since I install GB, I got only once that the screen didn´t work and only for a short time. I've been using for a couple of days and I didn't have any trouble at all. I'm guessing that is like a bug software problem, but if someone find a final solution, please post it.
Hey!
Hey guys. I also have the same problem. My service test in touch screen was so terrible. Also behind delete button in keyboard. Lower part right side of the screen. What shall we do?
Additions.

Same Problem here to.
Anyone know something about this problem?
Anybody got a workaround?
Thanks
Another one with the same problem, mine in the low right side of the screen. Im using the glove mode otherwise its impossible to use it. Somebody with JB, which disables glove mode, has resolve the problem??Im asking this because while its not responding, I restart the phone an enter CWM, and there, its responses perfectly.
So, somebody with this problem, has flashed the any port of JB and resolve this issue??
ok, I´ve tested with JB and it became more responsive but also having the problem.
I left the phone with direct sunligth and now it is ok WTF!!??
have you tried calibrating it? there's an app at the play store if i'm not mistaken..
I have tried everything but 1 thing worked. Sunbathing your sola will recalibrate touchscrren. I dont know how it work but it sure does the job. I'm afraid i have to sell my phone cause i dont want any problems. Now i'm using galaxy s3 mini

It fixed mine and the time needed for your phone under the sun is approx..1 hour
Dont worry about the battery
Hey guys,
Ive been using my ZU for a week now, and love it.
Only noticed one thing, sometimes when the phone is just with screen on, it will open apps and do random stuff on itself. (without touching the screen myself.)
I dont know if this is software related, or that my hardware is defective.
Anyone has any experience on this?
Kind regards,
Hoolz
Yeah, that's the so called "ghost clicking". It usually happens if you have some dirt on the screen. It was a bigger issue on pre-257 firmwares, so Sony has made thing better for most people by updating, so it's mostly a software issue.

Awesome, was scared something was wrong with the phone.
Hope the next update will resolve this issue.

what firmware is on the phone now?
There is a guy that it looks like his ghost clicks is a hardware fault...
Hi guys,
hope you'll be able to help me out with this. Under Diagnostics-->Orientation--> Accelerometer, my brand new Xperia Z4 fails the test since it won't vibrate while shaking the device! Now, vibration itself works fine it's just won't do it in that particular test. Does it mean I've got a faulty device? Can you kindly check if the same problem exists in your devices.
Also, when I've got my music/youtube on and changing orientation, audio seems to cut off for a split second during the transistion. Is it releated you think?
Thanks so much for your help in advance!
And 1st i thought mine was too.. Try shakin itnevery way possbile.. Got mine to vibrate

I've tried that with no luck unfortunately. What about this other "audio-orientation" issue I've got? This is my first Sony device so I don't know whether that's something normal or not?

This audio issue is software bug, i have it too. And for accelerometer i got failed couple of times, but it's working. If it doesn't work you would not be able to rotate screen orientation.

I'm glad the audio issue is a software bug. It's a bit annoying but hopefully it'll be addressed in the future updates. I can live with that...for now As for the failed test, you think it's really nothing to worry about? The auto-rotation works just fine but why it won't vibrate during the test? You reckon that's the diagnostics issue, another bug perhaps? I just wonder if that's a common issue, that's all?I hope you guys will let me know

I've tried for the millionth time and it finally vibrated then it wouldn't again! Well, I'm telling you it was far from shaking it gently . Like you said, it must be another bug! Thanks for your help mate. Much appreciated!
If you still have got any other thoughts drop a line

As far as I know, ghost touch is almost always a digitizer hardware problem, but I stand to be corrected on that. Have you tried pulling the battery and leaving the phone off for a while (15+ minutes)?

I don't think you have that many options. Here are the things I would try, in order:
- Open the phone and disconnect the screen from the motherboard, then reconnect it
- Factory reset (back up the phone with LG Backup, or TWRP if you have a model that supports it)
- Replace the screen
I have a feeling that a factory reset isn't going to do much of anything, but it's worth trying before you spend money on a new screen.
Re: ghost touch
I had mine doing the same thing, I'm on a h820 however the screens weren't different amongst the variants as far as I know. Was able to get an oem replacement on Amazon for like 68$. The install wasn't all too difficult and did alleviate the ghost touch. Mine was bad bad before changing out the screen. Like it would press and hold the home button or the back button and make the phone unusable. No problems with the new screen so far.
Here's a link to the one I bought. It was two numbers off from the original one on the underside of the screen where the LG info is stamped.
Well it won't let me post the link.. Not enough posts. But it was from a US seller and said oem in the listing title.
