I have a Gtab that was being used by the head of the IT department of the place that i work. He has lost BOTH the charger and the usb connector. I was going to just go to radio shack and pick up a charger for it but they need to know what the power requirements are for it and i cant seem to find them anywhere. anyone know what the charger out put is stock on one of these? also is there an easy source for the small port that semi looks like micro usb to standard usb cable?
Thanks in advance
Chad
The stock charger puts out 12 V and 2 amps.

There are several other vendors that use the same power adapter with different markings on it. Kodak uses them in their digital photo frames and there are several vendors on eBay if you don't mind it coming from China and waiting a month to get it.
This vendor on Amazon has a few in stock (just the adapter). I bet you can get it overnighted.
Link to Amazon seller
If you do want to search for it on the Internet or in eBay use "MPA-630" in the search criteria.
Also, that's a mini-usb port on the side of the gTab, not a micro-usb port.
It also uses the same charger as the Kodak Photo Frame...
Search the web for "MPA-630 power supply" and you will find a replacement.

P. S. -- Oh, also, the PC to G-Tab cable is just a standard USB to mini-USB cable like is often used on
cameras, mp3 players, etc. USB on the PC side and mini on the G-Tab side.
I just bought a Universal external charger for my Gtab, but I need to know what the polarity should be, can anyone help me with that?

That's what's on mine if that helps

FYI, the PSAD24 (link above) is NOT a compatible substitute for the MPA-630. Please do not make the same mistake I did by purchasing the item linked above for your gTab, as it has a different connector.
Ecrap website has the charger for $23.95
Forum member itsteve's website electroniccrap dot com is selling the oem power supply and as of yesterday had some in stock. Get on it quick because they sell out quick
Where can I find the USB cable or travel charger...I can't seem to find it on ebay or amazon...
if you manage to find one please post as I would like to buy one
USB Cable
only 3.0 USB cables work in extending the length of the charger cable from the wall to the Eee Pad Transformer
use this

Check the DIY thread link in my signature.
The official travel charger includes the TF101 USB3 -> proprietary 40pin connector (short length tho)

Office Depot is much cheaper.

I have a three foot USB extension from Monoprice and works great (has to be USB 3.0).

Look for "asusparts.eu" (no outside link possible, sorry), but the shipping cost are very expensive.
The best would be a bulk order!

Do you have the model number?
I'll check when I get back home.

I'm curious as well. I thought that something was wrong with my phones USB port as I have to wiggle it around before it connects (very loose connection). tried plugging my phone in with other cables (blackberry and arc) and it stayed connected fine. Friend of mine plugged her phone in using my cable and it did the same thing as it does with mine. It's reassuring to know it's not the phone as that would be expensive to fix, the cable on the other hand is cheaper If you find one let me know.
Sorry, I seem to have lost the little tag on the USB cable that shows the model number.
Hi,
I have "datacable by OTB" which also charges my nokia for a few bugs from EBay. Every cable with mini- (micro-?) usb should do.
Ralf
Asked my friend, Model Number is EC600L
Ye any micro USB cable will work.
Some people prefer OEM
It's a feature! micro USB was intentionally designed so that the cable will wear out rather than the jack.
On another thread it was suggested that biting on the end of the cable tightens the cable allowing it to connect. I seem to have revitalized my old original cable though I substituted a pair of needle nose pliers for my teeth.

If you really want a model number I recently bought an OEM cable for a spare for work etc its labelled CA-101
As above though its a standard micro usb cable ...
(used this cable recently to flash and then reflash my x10i after killing my phone with various patching and the cable works great lol!)
Note I also use a Nokia mains charger for my spare work charger as that's all the guy had on his stall and it works just fine
I have the Nokia CA-101. ill check the OEM one when I get home. but I like the Nokia OEM one. it's longer :3

I am using an BB micro-USB cable as my alternative cable which cost me MYR10 around 3USD. Bought from a local Computer shop. Mobile phone shop sell at higher price.
Notice that the stock cable charge my phone bat. will reach @ 40'c while the BB micro-USB cable will above 40'c. Maybe due to the stock cable having 'resistor' locate near the both end of the cable meanwhile the BB micro-USB cable don't have.
My USB cable broke when my huge phone fell from the couch while charging and it landed on the cable. It only bent the cable, the phone is ok but I'm in need of another usb cable.
If anyone has an extra one please let me know

For the price your asking for someone to spend to mail one to you, you could have one or several ordered online. USB cables of all lengths are nearly free online. Start on amazon, where they start at $0.01 + Shipping
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref...1342450826&rh=k:micro+USB,n:172282&sort=price
Here's a cable for under $3 with free shipping.
http://www.amazon.com/ECOMGEAR-Micr...d=1342450971&sr=1-15&keywords=short+micro+USB
The short is best done on the charger side, not cable, but is easily done on either.

Cut insulation back from one of those cables. ID the data pins/wires (connected to center contacts), sort those. There's lots of diagrams of the internal of USB connectors, find one and try it out.
monoprice.com
great place for any type of cables and fast shipping
Hi,
I wonder if there are any concerns regarding a magnetic charging cable from eBay (china).
Normally I wouldn't buy cheap china stuff, but since it's just a cable: Can the chinese even mess up a simple USB cable?
I don't want to spend 35€ for a dock just to pull the cable out, thats stupid...
regards,

You don't even need the full cable mate, just get an adaptor to go on the end.

I have one and it works fine, just ordered another to keep in work. :good:

I would prefer a cable because it looks better and the cable is going next to the device not straight away from it.
