What pocket pc software are you running?

Being fairly new to the Pocket PC 2002/2003 I am curious as to what "must have" software you have on your pocket pc / pocket pc phone. What do you tend to use on a daily basis? What have you found to be the most useful piece of software for you.
I would like to see what people use so I can do a little research on each piece of software and see what I might need or want myself.
Just looking for ideas.. any thing posted would be appreciated.

ArcSoft MMS Composer 2.0
Does Work
1. Pocket Plus latest addition & not fully
does not work
1. Arabizer Suite
2. Vcard
3. MMS Composer
Does work:
Vito Button Mapper
Just a question: Does standard Xda II progs like Album, Camera, MMS Composer, Caller ID etc. work with WM2005?
Album (in Wm2005 it's called Picture&Videos) and Camera work. The WM2005 rom doesn't contain the MMS composer or callerID.
However, the contacts application in WM2005 downloades the pictures from Outlook 2003 on the PC. If you don't use Outlook on the PC, you can also assign pictures directly in the contacts application on the PPC.
Cheers
Pat
GPS software
Does NOT work:
Tomtom 3
Navman SmartST V2
What a shame...
Does work:
Fizz Traveler (even works when installed on Buzz' RAM disk!).

another Wm 2005 big gap!
hi, does WM 2005 had already able detect 125.86 Mb ROM instead of 30MB
we are on 96 Mb now! That is the useful size at the moment. Keep trusting Buzz to bust it!
Victor
wow nice job
96 Mb now? for the Storage and Running Programs? Does it also have auto config?can use my current ExtROM 1.12.924 WWE with WM 2005?
Tomtom Mobile
Anyone tried Tomtom Mobile5 under WM2005?
WM2005 is supposed to be able to run smartphone apps, so it might work with the smartphone version of Tomtom?
Applications that work:
GoogHelper
Spb GPRS Monitor
Spb FullScreen Keyboard
SpbTime
Mini Online Dictionary
Super Memo CE
PlanMaker
Suncon PocketPC
MortPlayer
Resco Audio Recorder
Resco Explorer
Resco Photo Viewer
Pocket RAR
MemMaid
HandyMenu
HandyLauncher
XCPUscalar
WebISMail
eWallet (without sync)
Repligo
Applications that doesn't work:
CheckOnIt
Sprite Backup Profesional
Socket WLAN Tools
Pocket Informant
PhotoContacts
PhatNotes
Resco Keyboard
Stripping down all the programs and shortcuts leaves you a little over 9mb. Navtec will just run on that, but don't take a wrong direction because then it will get stuck (PS even the voice isOK)
Re: WM2005 Working program list (Updated!)
On my Device KSE TrueFax 2.09 for WM2005
Thanks rudistw for the working version of TruFax on WM2005!
Hi Yazzon, which version of Resco's Audio Recorder you got? I tried ver 3.01 which installs alright but would never open the app.
Not to forget pschoch's effort in indexing the apps, saves us all the trouble in going through each of the posts.
Cheers 2 all.

Best PPC Toolz up till end feb 2006

Hi XDAII(i) owners,
I sold my XDAII & bought an XDAIIi for the integrated wifi & better cam.
Very satisfied, don't need WM2005 (tested on my XDA2 nice layout, but I can also set nice themes on my 2i and less battery than WM2005).
As the ppc toolz are for both devices the same, here i add my favorite ppc toolz list up till today, cause there is so much new software everyday :
1. Tomtom Navigator 5 Europe with plus-maps & poi's & checkpoint
Nice 3D interface, easy to use, best GPS program.
2. Hitchhiker 0.32 (freeware Kasuei Consultant Group) 0.4 still beta with some crashes - best wifi-connection tool to get online everywhere 4 free (80% of networks no WEP keys)
2. SPB Pocketplus 3.0.4
Best program with shortcuts to all your programs & themes, ...
3. Marsware Weatherpanel
Nicest weatherpanel that updates daily the weather 4 free on your ppc
4. Photocontacts Pro
Dial someone by clicking the picture and see the picture when they dial
5. Skype for ppc : free calls to anyone (if other person has also ppc phone with wifi & skype or via desktop pc & headset)
6. Avantgo : your daily newspaper with technews, movie, sports, actual news, register and free up to 2000kb news / day / different channels.
7. Mobimate Worldmate 2006 (ideal traveltool) updates weather different travel-locations, updates flight-schedules!, currency conversions, international measurements, and other traveller stuff.
8. Pocketdivx : ideal to play avi's and other videofiles
9. Pocket Music Player Bundle v3.2 : ideal for playing music and use your xdaIIi as a mp3 player (direct play from desktop ppc-multitask possible)
10. Anton Tomov Pocket Mechanic - to format SD card (when problems) or other cleanup/tweaks
Which essentials are on your lists ?
I hate it that msn has no email plugin or you have to go for the paid version. There is a 'photmail' program but still in beta i think.
Cheers,
Innovator

Which version oc Co-Pilot are you using on the Athena? How does it compare to TomTom?
As little as possible!
I try to run a new ROM on its own until I find myself wishing I had a specific piece of software. I often end up with a nasty pile of software by the time a new ROM appears, and it nice to see which I really need and which are just cluttering up the system. With so much space on the Micro Drive and the mini SD, I don't question whether or not to try something new the way I had to before I had my Advantage.
putty and opera 9.6 build 405 (there are newer but i cant release those at this time) are in the platinum(full) rom already. google maps and live search are also in the rom. wmwifirouter would be in if it wasnt for the going commercial thing. the htc rss reader is in there also. we have a new irc client in there(zsirc). total commander is in there. and a few other things.
My list...
S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock)
S2P (Slide 2 Play)

spb pocket plus 4
spb diary
spb weather
maybe spb finance
resco explorer and today plugin
coreplayer 1.21
pocket informant
thats probs it.
Like everyone else, i dont care about storage space because of the microdrive, so im sure some ggpss software will be added at some point.
Rory
slide 2 play doesnt look too good on vga. would be good if it would and if we made the athena in landscape via vueflo orientation it would go to album view. i do use s2p still
There's a long list of software that I'm using at the moment:
Pocket Informant
Flexmail
Resco Explorer
Resco Photo Viewer
Phatware Phatnotes
Phatware PhatPad

Yes there is some really interesting potential with vueflo.. ever pitched this idea to A_C?
I could redo the graphics in VGA for our devices if you want to start a side project after AP4.0... Hell, I'll probably end up doing the graphics anyways... I'll post them on this forum when I get around to it.
Here's my list:
Pocket Informant
Resco Explorer
Phatware PhatPad
Egress RSS reader (I think the most customizable of all rss readers and it allows you to cache entire articles)
SKTools
PocketBreeze
PocketWeather
Phatware calligrapher (best handwriting recognition)
Destinator 7
Pocket Mindmap (great for notes and links to web pages)
PocketXPdf (absolutely best pdf reader-freeware)
WMWfirouter
EsmertecJbed midlet (full screen)
Opera Mini
Gmail midlet
Voipbuster java (for connecting two conventional phones over internet)
Softmaker for powerpoint
The last beta of softmaker is really great for edit ppt on the pda, without any conversation. The problem is it eats a lot of memory. Should be great if the famous and more desired rom ap 4 works better with it.
for me the last program still maintaining me using a pc is powerpoint, rest of the things are fine on the athena.

Screen off ? Are you crazy, that's the worst app. So much spam and ways cpu
bruk
Guys isn't MX player better? I also use juice defender... GO book by the GO developer is also wonderful... And suggest me some call recorder and. Mobi file reader

And AdBlock alot people complaint, so I use AdAway, try see how.
Anyone recommend for Expenses Manager?
I like BeWeather over the stock weather (has radar).

I have a few I can't dismiss in my phone, they are:
Smart Volume Control + - don't have to be searching for options and going from here to there to do something, this app has every major option of the phone in such a little amount of space. Volume control, abitily to create profiles, mute, turn on and off wifi, 3g and others.
Easy Money - manage my bank accounts.
Essential apps for Android
Thanks for this comprehensive list.
I one I that I couldn't live without...
#1 is Evernote With Evernote, all of your notes, web clips, files and images are made available on every device and computer you use. What I really like is it's simple and intuitive interface. nice clean design that allows you to make notes with photos and audio capabilities. I must admit it took a little time to learn all the capabilities it has but I now depend on it. It's a free app.

I like BeWeather over the stock weather (has radar).
I also use Brightest Flashlight. Comes in handy sometimes.
Also, Stock Quote's nice. Has a widget to show my retirement stocks activity.

I'd recommend you to use 'Droid Light' made by Motorola or 'Tesla LED' by the makers of Nova Launcher, because Brightest Flashlight requires ALMOST EVERY permission, from reading phone calls to Full Internet Access, whereas these apps don't use any such permissions
