My XDA I always auto restart when I used it outside from building and the baterry fell hot/warn. Anyone can tell me why? But is OK to used inside the building.
This about inside and outside bulildings sounds very strange, but i also have the same problem. sometimes my xda restarts automatically. i think these are bugs of the ROM.
In my model there is a point in the sim plastic were the xda powers off, (i found the solution) can it be this problem?

I am having a problem with my XDA in that every now and then when I turn it on (from stand-by) it reboots itself. This is very annoying, and also I am not sure that if I received a call while it was in stand-by (pre-reboot), it would have rung (?)
Has anyone else got/had this problem, and if so what could you reccommend. I am going to start uninstalling things one by one until maybe it stops rebooting - but I have a feeling it's to do with the new ROM. After I upgraded it seemed to start doing this. :?
Any help would be much appreciated.

PS - Excellent Web Site!!
I also have this problem, I too updated to the newest ROM but I thought it also did it before I updated
Me as well
I posted before about this. My also reboots when it rings. Hasn't done it in a while though. And this is because I'm now using another mobile phone!
My XDA is now just a simple plain old PDA. The phone crashing, missed text messages etc was not good enough. Thinking of a Siemens SX1 maybe in August when my contract is up for renewal..

I found that if your SIM cover is not perfectly fit, XDA will reboot occationally. You might check this.

i just have discoverred that the reasson from my booting problem also is the simlock cover
the xda rebooted after i pushed on that rubber cover piece
now i have pushed it firmly to close the rubber cover and as far i can see now the booting problem is gone

Hi all menber
I have O2 , normaly i using it no problem , but from 3 days ago , it often power off when i put it in the pocket ??? please help me
Thank you
When you say power-off you mean the little light stops flashing? Don't worry about the screen turning off, this is normal, the phone will continue to operate.
Just as long as your litte green light keeps on flashing all is well.
I've had a similar problem where my XDA switched off completely while its in my pocket and even during a phone call. Some time it takes two dozen attempts to switch it back on. I thought it was battery power but when i checked level in power settings it was 3 quarter full.
Has anyone experienced this problem, my XDA is one day old.
Thanks in advance.
I was going to ask a similar question. My problem is my XDA works fine while in the house but after a trip in the car 80% of the time my xda has no green light flashing then when I turn it on it acts like it has had a soft reset. I am wondering if this is a static problem.
My XDA Details
32MB Version
Special Rom 3.17.3
and radio 4.21
We've seen all sorts of weird issues when an XDA loses signal for too long. You may want to upgrade Radio Stack if your version is rather old.
I have Radio Stack 4.21.00 is this the latest ?
I too suffer from this.
Sometimes i go to turn my phone on and it does a soft reset.
Never considered it resetting itself if it lost radio signal (using the latest stack)
Checking that sim flap is correctly place may help, if i bang mine then sometimes it resets (suspect that the sim card switch is being jolted)
I've had many problems with my XDA since buying it. The main one was that it kept resetting all the time. After a close inspection I found the sim door switch to be faulty which caused my XDA reset all the time
Basically to fix this problem it did the following:
1) Desoldered the sim door switch and binned it because it was broken!
2) Used one strand of copper wire and bridged over both terminals to trick the XDA in thinking that the door is closed!
3) Make sure the wire is tinned first as the terminals are very small!
4) FINALLY! Don't take the sim card out when the XDA is switched on!
My XDA still won't hold charge though! Must get a new battery and hope nothing else is faulty!
Hope this fix works for some of you guys that have experienced the same problems as me.
Here is the pic!
automatic reset of android....
i am experiencing this problem too...only i have android on my htc touch (sprint)...no sim card. ...it happens often...just, automatically does a soft reset which restores windows mobile. it appears as if the battery is dying (right light on my touch, but shows 74% on my android meter)... any ideas appreciated.
For some reason, mine doesn't restart anymore when I tell it to, it just shuts off entirely. Anyone else having the same issue?

Mine was doing the same, took it back.
Mine just shuts the phone down, too.
Mine was doing the same when I first got it but somehow it works fine now....

I've had issues about 50% of the time trying to power off or reboot. Always end up pulling the battery and then its fine, still annoying as balls though.

Same here. Reboot powers the phone off
that happened to me, but I've done all the ota stuff. I've noticed that if you have done headphones plugged in, you can't reboot the phone.
but the reboot problem is very inconsistent

I've seen it happen both before and after the ota, also while both on and off the charger. It's just so hit or miss.
Same here with just shutting down. But somehow it is fine now.

Mine just started doing this after I did a factory reset (which did fix my problem of voice mails not showing in my vm box)

I had the same exact issue. It started to bother me quite a bit. What I did to rectify the problem was hold the power button down and tell it to go into airplane mode. I let it stay in airplane mode for a minute then turned airplane mode off.
Ever since doing this task it has rebooted each and everytime like it is suppose too. If this seems to work for you folks as well great. Perhaps it will help figure out what the issue may be.

I wish I had tried that before I did the second factory data reset. However, this second time around seemed to fix this problem and now I can restart again.
Mine just shuts down too. Weird

yo people..I have a I9300,the phone fal in the watter few months ago, everything is working excluding charging battery, its indicating battery overheating issue. My questione is it is pasible to dissable warning about battery, switch it off or just delate some system file??Flash it in zip or so.
hope u would know how to do this.
As far as I know the battery temperature sensor is inside the battery, if this is the same battery that was in the phone when it got wet then this sensor is probably damaged (or the battery is damaged and is actually overheating?).
Try another battery first off, I would not disable the temperature alarm - it's there for a reason.

I have brand new battery there mate. The problem still egsist.I know that this warrning is for a reason.Im getting new phone so I dont care if I burnt it.Any body know how to dissable this overheating warrning??
You might be lucky,
I had that exact same problem with my sgs2 the error came up once every 2 minutes for the whole day.
I noticed that however, while running cm9 (10 wasn't out yet) it didn't show up, so I was forced into cm until the problem somehow fixed itself.
Try out cm10 and see if the error still shows up, if it does, go for cm9 then, I'm 70% sure that it won't show there.
Best of luck.

cheers mate deff will try it
In all honesty if it's water damaged then always assume the worst. Is there any way you could make a claim through your bank or something?
I've spilt wine over my phone but its been fine since, but it does feel like I'm on borrowed time.
