Unfortunately, to help me you have to download the vid. I don't have an acct on youtube to upload it or set it up there (The file isn't huge anyway) any help would be appreciated!
If you watch the recording, on the top left of the video there's this little white spot.. and I believe it's a software issue. First of all taking pictures - That dot is NOT there. It's only there when I use it to record.
Second, I tried a diff camera app (this one is really weird) such as "lg camera" and if I record using that app, it's there. The WEIRD part is IF I record once, stop it, change to camera mode and then back to camcorder mode, the spot will go away.. I'm assuming it isn't dust or anything under the lense (I hope!) and if anyone knows anything about this.. I'd really appreciate the help! I won't die if it's there, I use the camera a lot more than recording, but the quality is surprisingly pretty decent for the atrix and I'd like to start using it if I can get rid of this dot!
Thanks
Hi,
I video record my self some times (I play guitar) and I made my self sort of a stand for mobile to hold it stright.
Unfortunately I cannot see my self on the screen because its aimed to me, and so I'm having trouble viewing my self during the play and also starting the record (I need to search for the red button while somtimes miss and press focus and ruin it)..
I was searching for some apps but found stuffs that not exactly what I ment.
I would like an app that could record with the highest quality of the mobile (720p), and it may display it on my laptop screen in lower resolution [due to lags or stuffs,] and so I could control all the functions by the PC (Start, Stop, zoom, focus..).
Is there anything you might know that could do some of these things? or atleast close to it?
It could really help me..
Thanks,
Yarden.
Hi guys.
i've had my prime for awhile now, used it's video recording before, but today it seems to be having some problems.
1. Video Recording in Full HD 1080p for 1 min, once i click on the stop, it hangs there for quite awhile, and ultimately pops up the message box "camera app has hanged" , even if i click wait, the camera seems to hang indefinitely and the only way for me to close it is to force reboot.
2. If i record at 20sec or 40sec, it doesn't have a problem. though it hangs around (i think it's converting the videos)
anyone else have this problem? also anyone knows of any alternative camera app other then the stock one?
Mine did the same thing the other night and I had to force close it. When I tried to relaunch the application it said it could not connect to the camera device. I had to do a full shutdown and reboot. I think there are too many bugs either in the OS, the application or the tablet. If you find a better camera app let me know please.
Glad to hear i'm not the only one
There's a few more things i noticed though. This only happened after the recent update. So i'm guessing it's a software problem.
2nd thing is, i'm wondering if it is necessary to actually do a conversion after the video recording. My HD2 phone can record videos without any hanging after i click on the stop button.
Not much hanging or crashes here but I do experience freezes when zooming while recording video. Wondered if this was app or hardware...
hmm i tried on a friend's Transformer (not prime)
Their video recording is seemless.. the moment i click the stop recording button. the recording stops instantly and no hanging or anything..
i'm wondering if it has anything to do with our multiple updates..
I do remember multiple reports of the Prime's very poor disk performance. It scored very low on multiple benchmarks.
Update on this. i sent my Prime to ASus service center. Reported this pproblem + another dock problem. Will update once i get my prime back
Update on this. I just got my prime back. They did a excellent job. Completely fixed now. Video recording is fluid. Even recording for 20sec / 40 sec / 1 min, it stops immediately. I guess just a re-fresh would have solved the problem but since i had another dock problem which they'll need to fix, they fixed this at the same time.
Hello guys.
So I got my Xperia P around 3 months ago and I didn't have any problems until today.
Long story short the picture is all messed up in full screen landscape mode.
So I wanted to watch a video and as soon as the video started playing I realised that something was wrong.
Here's the deal, when I open any kind of video (even on youtube) my screen starts going all crazy and you can't see anything, but if you go into the settings the screen becomes clear for a second. Watching videos in a small window on youtube is possible , but full screen landscape mode , not a chance, I don't get it, why is this happening? It looks like it's zoomed in like 500% , the sound is all fine but the picture is just broken. If I try to play a game like GTA SA it works all fine so the screen isn't broken or anything , it's just that you can't watch videos , and that's kind of stupid.
Did you have a problem like this or do you know what might be the reason this problem appeared?
I tried clearing the memory in the apps , but nothing seems to be helping , so I'm asking you guys do you know how to fix this? I'm running the 4.1.2 JB official update.
Thanks
Do a factory reset!
I think it's the only way to resolve your problem
Sent from my Xperia U using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Tried both stock 20A and fulmic 20c 2.0. When taking HD and FHD movie using either rear lens, the camera app will freeze and have to force quit. I track it down to the anti shake mode. So either "Steady+HD" or "Steady+FHD" will crash, using OIS is fine. FHD60 and UHD in either antishake mode are fine though.
Anybody have the same problem or try to reproduce? maybe I have hardware problem because I search and didn't find anything. I'm on T-mobile but i think the camera app should be same across all models...Thx
When does the freezing occur?
After stopping the record or while you are recording? Or when you press the record button?
Sent from my sh!tty LG-H860 that is beyond crap
It froze when I press record. I then has to force quit the camera and when reopen no video is taken. I will see if i can get some logcat going....
Seems like nobody else has this problem? which is puzzling because it seems like a software issue.
Have you tried the hidden menu?
Test your camera there
*#546368#*850#
850 is your model number. If you have a 830 change this to 830

Oh wow thanks for this post. Mine started crashing exactly the same way in the last week. I ran into your post and sure enough, switching to OIS "fixed" the problem.
