disable background services, use some light launcher (zeam launcher for example), i have only one screen with 2 widgets and from market download AutoKiller Memory Optimizer (exactly that one), requiers root, and change presents to agressive

Mainly removing apps you dont need/use and a task killer. Zeam Launcher is good but is now an orphan app...
