Does anyone know how to block certain phone calls on the XDA 1?
I am running WM2003 at the moment but cannot find the facility to block pest callers!
Is there an additional program that can be installled?

don't think it is possible to "block" on the phone. I would talk to you mobile provider maybe they can do something on their end.

Can anybody tell me where I find a phone application like the black list on the smart phones. This program prevents unwanted numbers from reaching you. Somebody should have distributed my number as his and I get lots of stray calls asking for a name I have never heard of and this usually happens 2 to 3 AM. I want to block those numbers so they never call me again.

Not sure of your setup since you don't provide any signature device info. But, the TNT Rom has an application to block calls called "Call Firewall". I don't know if there is a cab for it. You can do some searches or PM & ask the owner of TNT.

ok this is my first thread yay! i know. But i think i have an app that is making phone calls from my number but its not showing up on my call log but it shows up on my bill and the number is 8505830466. i tried calling it and it asks me what number i would like to dial. i would love to know what i should do! should i wipe everything and reinstall the rom or will they still have the info to keep making the calls? or call verizon and have them block it? thanks for any help that is given!

Yes, agreed...mostly. I saw the same Google results. However, noted that my GV# is almost identical to this mystical 850#. I'm wondering if it's related buggishness (?!?). If so, wonder where I'll find more about it. Also, I recall someone else's input that the call /had/ been identified and related to GV, by their carrier (seems to me it was VZW). And furthermore, the rep allegedly stated that the policy was that there were no billable minutes for the number. When I spoke to VZW Customer Service yesterday [/not/ IT Support], the rep mentioned that the feature, "Call Blocking," was part of a $4.99 monthly package called "Usage Control," or something similar. ~:sDs:~
Hello, first of all I wanna mention that I'm a beginner with Android and stuff, I know how to root and use Xposed Framework and a few other things, but I'm definitely no expert. And that's why, after I've been doing some research but failed to find what I needed, I decided to ask the experts here. So here goes : I need to find a way to block someone in Whatsapp without them appearing as blocked on my device. Practically to cut off all incoming (and outcoming, if possible) messages or calls from that person, but without them appearing as blocked in Whatsapp, in Contact - Settings - More - Block/Unblock. Plain and simple, I need to cut off any comunication between my Whatsapp account and his, just like in the normal blocking, only that I don't want this to show on my Whatsapp in any way, I need to make it look like he's not blocked but just not answering, like in the case of normal blocking. It doesn't matter if there's a third party app that does this, or some Whatsapp tweaks, or whatever method, as long as it can do it. The device is a Huawei Y 635, running Android 4.4.4. KitKat, rooted. I am grateful to hear any idea about how something like this can be done. If it can be done. So, thank you in advance for your time, and I am waiting your answers.

I just wanted to block calls like:

7553658....
just the numbers starting with 7553658, ending with 4-digit-number.
I have tried adding 7553658 or 7553658* into blocked number. It doesn't work.

Nope. I've been trying to figure this out too. I have an Illinois phone number but no longer know anyone who lives in Illinois, so every call from my area code is spam. Nothing I can do about it except block each number as they come in.
