Hello,
Did upgrade from O2, online for active UI, but upgrade caused problems.
So i uninstalled.
Phone now works ok, but need to reinstall the V2R O2 activeUI, which is a CAB file, this provides the menu with all O2 bits on it.
Can somebody please send it, or point me in right direction
[email protected]
I would like that too, but i haven't seen it in rom or device, only in screenshots

Gidday peoples...
I have just upgraded my Qtek1010 to 3.16 from 3.14, and now when I go to reply to a SMS message, the name and number of the contact concerned are displayed in the "To:" field like so:
To:"NAME" <NUMBER>.
When I go to send the SMS, the phone reports an error message stating that "No matching entry was found for "NAME" <NUMBER>. Would you like to continue?"
I can manually delete the name and <> and then it sends (with only the number remaining.
On version 3.14, I had used SMS Name utlity and could reply just fine... Only the number was displayed when I chose 'reply'.
Please help...
This is driving me nuts!!
Thanx
Madman
This is a known issue with that ROM. If you often use the device to send/receive SMS, may I suggest upgrading to 4.00.11 ? It is really much nicer when it comes to SMS.
Thanx for that. I might just have to do that.
Being a bit of a lay person when it comes to the ROM side of things... the latest ROM version offered by my phone supplier here in New Zealand is 3.16. If I download and install a 4.00.11 ROM and install, am I likely to have compatability problems with my GSM provider here?
I found this ROM kitchen:
http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/ROMkitchen/
Will the 4.00.11 version from there be okay do you think?
Thanx very much for your help by the way.
Sorry, one more question:
If using the above ROM kitchen, which of the following should I select at the top?
No AutoConfig data
Original O2 AutoConfig data
XDA-developers AutoConfig data
Thanx again
depends on where u at, and whether you know how to setup your phone for gprs. if you do, then go for no autoconfig, saves space.
The autoconfig settings only apply for ROMs based on 3.17.03, not for 4.x ROMs.
All downloaded and installed with no problems.
Thanx alot for all your help.
SMS problem fixed.
Hi,
i have a 32mb xda and after upgrading to wm2003 i lose the checkboxes in dialogs, if i soft reset then they come back for a while and tapping on the text next to the box enables/disables the option but i get no boxes!
most strange, also i had to turn off the ir recieve but when turned off i still got the error for com 1 with navigator, i had to uncheck it then soft reset to apply that change.
i cooked the rom from jeffs kitchen a while ago and was going to redo it but it is unavailable and Yorchs only has the 4.0.05 rom.
Any ideas on the missing dialog checkboxes.
Regards
Smallboy.
Hi ! I had the same problem (even with no other app installed ! Just wm2003 and nothing else) , and I never solved it ... till the 4.01.00 went out. I tried this one and had no problem. All attempts I made with earlier versions were unsuccessfull ! Unfortunately, no rom kitchen use this version yet ! So I have a 'blank' rom version from T-Mobile found somewhere on a post on xda-developers.
Hope this help !
cheers for the reply,
as i unbderstand it the 4.1 rom only support gsm 900/1900 which is no good for me as a uk/orange customer.
regards
I have the same problem.
Im using an xda 2 on o2 with the following software
tom-tom navigator 2
gps 2.08
towa's patch
resco explorer
pocketinformant
spb pocketplus
claunch
clearnotify
Anyone else see a pattern?
Surur
Ditto for me. They're still "there", if you click your stylus over where they should be, you'll get them to work.
A reset clears the problem.
Looks like there's a leak that is using up the GDI heap. You can get the same type of error on desktop Windows.
the error is caused by navigator, i installed v2.24 on mine and also when i installed it on my mates xdaII he now has the same problem with checkboxes and radio buttons missing, they come back after a soft reset but go after running navigator..
Smallboy
smallboy. You can use 4.01.00 on Orange as long as you only update the CE Rom and not the radio stack. Just make sure you don't go onto the Band select page on the phone settings.
Hi Swifty,
Can you give me a dl site for 4.1.00 rom.
cheers m8
ftp://tmobile:[email protected]
You need to just extract the CE rom using something like winzip, then use XDA Tools to put it onto an SD card and flash to your phone.

cheers Swifty, i have this now, all i need is a way of making the nb1 file into an .exe
UPDATE
I have now reflashed to 4.01.00 (t-mobile) and then installed navigator and voice but not gps, upgraded nav to 2.24 then installed gps 2.09
No missing checkboxes now but stil get the initial strtup problem of no map, which is cured by going to navigator mode.
Hello everybody!
I have upgraded my Qtek 2020 to unofficial WM2003SE by Dr.Stein. In the new ROM I have found the new MMS Composer by ArcSoft version 2.0.0.13, but it doesn't work fine:
1) I cannot send and receive MMS cause it connects GPRS (by Vodafone MMS
settings), but after hang in receiving process... until it fails.
2) I have found in the Server Tab a lot of unnamed servers that I cannot remove; The only way was to delete all the keys in the registry HKLM/Software/Arcsoft/.../mm1 (it seems to be all the servers configured; all of them about URI=http://vxpix.com/servlets/mms)
3) After deleting, the server list is clean, but sometimes the vxpix server come back (1 or more)... and MMS still doesn't work... cause I cannot set up my Vodafone Italy settings...
I have red about this problem on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13817
Can someone help me? thank's in advance...
Cristian
OK... now it Works...
After removed all, and made a new configuration... it worked.... good...
thank's the same...
Cristian
MMS composer settings problem?
That unamed servers keep on apearing, I tried a lot of things now, out of ideas! removed them all and created my own, they keep on coming back! What can I do next?
RE
I read somewhere that v2.0.0.13 has to be compatible with your telco carrier file for it to work.
In my case v2.0.0.13 is NOT compatible with my telco carrier, SingTel.
However, by reverting back to v1.6.0.8 taken from the original O2 XDA II WM2003 ROM v1.60.00 it WORKS!
Thanks for the idea, but like some people I'm not very clued up with all this, How can i revert back to the previous version? Do you maybe have a cab file for me that I can install? If you can tell me what programs to use and how to use it i will do that too!
Hi folks,
I've really been trying to find the information I'm asking for. So please just tell me if my questions have been asked before
I'm using the unbranded Tytn with Eplus (ger). The device itself works and I wouldn't change anything about the software if it wasn't for Active Sync. I sometimes have to end it with the Task Manager and start it again before it will sync anything. He doesn't even connect to the Exchange server. Sometimes there's the message "waiting for network" (or similar, own translation). Sometimes there simply NO message at all (where he usually says "looking for changes", etc.
Finally he claims the host is unreachable - other applications (Pocket IE, e.g.) don't see a problem getting their packets out.
This is great with Push Mail. As far as I can say he gets his problems when I'm moving (driving car, even when going to the other side of a building): He changing the cell phone masts. He loses his connection and is uncapable of regaining it.
Does anyone know this problem? And if, is it fixed by any update? I'd say since it seems to be an application-only problem upgrading the windows rom should be enough, shouldn't it?
And how can I use the rom from Vodafone with my original extended rom to keep my provider settings?
First of all try the EXtROM unlocker to make sure it works on your current ROM or look for your ExtROM on the Wiki.
If you can unlock your or if your ExtROM is on the Wiki then you can just update the windows ROM. When the ROM is updated and you go through the initial setup, wait for it to say it will install some additional programs. Hit soft eset before the timer counts down to the install of the ExtROM to stop it.
Then use the ExtROM unlocker and delete all the stuff in there. Then put your ExtROM contents in there. Next, either run the ExtROM stuff manually or I usually do a hard reset and let the device do it automatically.
If that doesn't fix your connection problems I would suggest exchanging it for a new one if possible.
I also like the fact you refer to your TyTN as a 'He.'

jokinawa I thought we could have the ext rom initiate itseld unless the cabs were signed with htc's thingy? unless this has change recently. Oh how I would love to try the south africa rom with a cingular ext rom and some goodies...

hehe
I use the Imate 1.20 ROM with the Softbank ExtROM that autoinstalled after I replaced them and did a hard reset. I also did it previously with the HTC ROMs.
then it should work fine since all those cabs came from the carrier. but i meant for say installing ms voice command

I think since its capabilities to frustrate his owner this devices definitely have to have a soul. Or are at least living somehow.
Okay, I have to admit, "she" would be more appropriate in this case, but...
I'm still used to the update procedures from my old Qtek 9090, where the rom, radio and ext were in 3 seperate image files and where you could just delete those you didn't want to be upgraded.
I wasn't sure if I would have had all the Vodafone stuff and couldn't reverse it. But you seem quite sure that their individual stuff is in the Ext I'll have a try tonight.
My Ext can be downloaded from the site. So I can skip extracting it.
By the way: I the ftp server sometimes down? I couldn't connect yesterday from home. Now, from work, it works fine and fast.
No, didn't really work. I've got the impression that it is a little bit more reliable, but what is a push mail service that can't provide at least 99% availability? If I have to look at my phone every hour to make sure Active Sync is still doing what it is supposed to do.
I've not heard of many people experiencing this problem, but since it is only Active Sync (other programs don't have this problem) I don't see what I would get by having the phone replaced... ?
Ive re flashed to the excellent rom by Vlodeck all is good apart from not being able to received or download mms. I can send mms ok and i can send mms to myself which open ok but all others will not download. Anybody got any ideas?
Have you configured gprs correctly?
All sttings for o2 in the uk have been confirmed. this was after i tried the auto detect. I can send an mms to myself which opens fine suggesting that I have the correct settings but when i try to open an mms I have received it doesnt download. Tried new settings from o2 this morning and messgae downloads to 4% before I get the message stating unable to download message. Prior to o2 this phone was on t mobile on wm5 and worked fine, could it be something to do with the file type in trying to open? Many thanks for your help.
I have to say, I've never used MMS feature on my charmer. Maybe someone could confirm whether or not MMS works.
It may have something to do with the text format, not sure though.
I reflashed the same rom and managed to recieve an mms from another o2 customer! This was after I resized the mazimum file size to 100k, not 300k. Later on one of my previous messgaes from somebody else tried to download again but would not complete. Im at a loss?
Ask your friend to MMS a single picture to you (below 100kb). See if it works.
All messages were less than 100k to start with. I have tried a new sim card which is still the same. I can receive from o2 but not other operators. I did try to flash back to the t mobile wm5 rom to start again but even that has failed now as I get an error message 260 pop up! looks like im stuck with a partially installed wm6. any advice on how downgrade to wm5 so I can start from fresh will be appreciated.
Ive just read a thread relating to problems with o2 and mms. seems to me that the problem I have is that o2 doesnt recognise my device from the settings that are stored on my device. Does anybody have a list of the registry relating to mms from a wm5 rom? (I would ahve flashed back but seem unale to at the mo)
