Are there any language packs for the MDA II? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

When I want to type a new message, I can not select any other language allthough it is an option in the menu: Edit > Language.
Is there any software availabe to get other T9 dictionaries, like Dutch, Spanish and Italian? I'd much appreaciate it.
Rgds.

if you mean the rom language then it's a part of the rom and the only way to change it is to flash ones device with a rom which is made for the language you want
of cause not all that many roms are supported
if you use some 3th party software then you maybe able to get language packs for that think that T9 is some 3th party software thingy
that is unless you just mean the dictionary when you type sms's with the keyboard or word reco

Change Rom Language from Chinese Language to English Languag

Hi,
Last week I bought O2 Xda II (IMEI:351938003270010) from Taiwan and this product include Rom Chinese Language which is difficult for me to understand. So would any one please tell me if it is possible to change this Rom language from Chinese to English Language and if that possible how can I do that?
Pleassssssssse heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
we can trade, I don't mind mine in Chinese
Thanks baboyako, for replay put I still want to know How can I change the Language.
:?:
the language can only be changed by changing to a rom of the desidered langauge
Thanks Rudegar, and I agree with you that the best way to change language it can be by changing the rom, but I heard there was some people upgraded their O2xd II by other Language like from German or France Language to English Language.
So, I am look forward to hearing good news about this subject.
by changing the rom
or
by 3th party software which
1. hack the rom replace the hardcoded text in it to text of another language
2. capture text when display'd and translate it to the other language ?
the 1. would require the hack to know all texts in the rom and possibly all programs in the extented rom aswell
2 would also have to know all the texts to have translations ready and it would require extre cpu time making the device slower
are you sure they just dident upgrade their xda to a rom with a different language ?
it does sound much easier
Thanks Rudegar,
And I am very happy to charring me this problem, and about your qustion, last week I tried with my friend to upgraded my O2 xda II by English Language (UK) rom upgrade, but did not worked and always gave us massage Error Code 120.
Regard to a 3th party software is not free and I will try to buy it as soon as possible.
and do you Know any other free program can help for changing language instead of 3th party software and do you know some one has an experience at the same problem?
I've done that job serveral times. Just get the ROM you want, use ER2003 to modify it then install.
if it's the country code error then this thread is about that

Hi hungdu,
Would you please explain step by step how did you do that ?

English XT9

Hey guys,
I have made an english XT9 language pack, all other languages removed. Just in case you don't need any other language and want to save some memory.
Enjoy
Surely xT9 is in ROM? So how can you remove other languages? Or am I missing something?

I made the cab file from a language pack found on Modaco that includes 14 languages but I don’t need any other language rather than English (neither I need the Russian language that comes originally with WM6.1 from Erofich). So with this cab, once installed you have only English XT9. I suppose that the Russian language stays in the phone but only English comes out when you press *. Basically starting from the language pack on Modaco you can create as many language pack you want and with any language you like. For istance I also made an English-Italian pack for a friend of mine...

Changing T9 language?

Hi, is it possible to change T9 language ( from english to polish) without changing the whole rom to polish?
any reply on installing T9 languages?
Did you ever get an answer ?
I just got an HTC Hero in Singapore and it only comes with English and Chinese. I would however like to add French as an input language. Any idea ?
you need a custom HTC_IME for the language keybaords
so far the only ones I have encountered are the:
HTC_IME: english
HTC_IME: chinese
HTC_IwinnI: Japanese

But for example in the messaging application, when I'm typing I won't get get the suggestions in portuguese, I always get them in english (english words are sugested I mean).
Is there any way to fix this / add a language to choose from with the proper suggestions? Thanks in adance

Go to Settings > Language and keyboard > Touch Input > Keyboard language > change it to whatever you want
Humm the thing is I only have Select Locale (language and region), Android keyboard and User Dictionary under Language and Keyboard. Even with the language set to portuguese it'll show english sugestions on the messaging app =C
*EDIT* Have tried Morelocale2, with everything in portuguese it still shows english suggestions on the messaging app.
*EDIT2* Switched to another language and it properly showed the suggestions, so I guess the files of portuguese are probably missing or something. Any idea how I can fix this, please please?
*EDIT3* I've found out there aren't spell checker files for pt-PT in android. However on the official 1.5 htc rom I had spell checking of pt-PT working properly. Is there any way to import those files for another rom?

[Q] Foreign language ROM customization

HI
i appreciate it if somebody tell me how we can customize any ROM to support foreign languages "Japanese, Chinese, Arabic ... etc"!?
I', affraid that it is not possible. You just can use "more locale" custom local or something to set up your language so app, which have your language support will switch into it.
