Can I upgrade my i-mate to 1.72 if at the moment I have only 1.52 rom version?
Do I have to upgrade to 1.66 first?
Can you point me to the files I need?
(all I have at the moment is 1.72 rom upd..)

There is no reason to perform incremental upgrades since the entire ROM is replaced anyway. Go for the 1.72 - it is the most stable ROM anyway.

I have just upgrade my Imate from 1.55.00WWE up to 1.72.00.WWW but radio version is only 1.14. (official ROM of Imate)

I need 1.72 WWE
Etended Rom 1.72.800 (i think)
And radio version 1.17 or later.

The provider specific bits are in the ExtRom.
So in fact you can use any 1.72.00 upgrade file and delete the ms_.nbf file before proceding.
Afterwards you can fill your Extended Rom with the applications you want using the Extended Rom Unlock tools.
BTW: This is always a better solution because using a 'wrong' ExtRom could get you into CountryID trouble with the next upgrade.
There are numerous posts with 1.72.00 rom upgrades in it, but I :lol: would recomend my RUU172902WWE upgrade. It is documented what the files in the ExtRom all do, so its simple to skip the operator specific ones.

I have upgraded with http://www.qtek.nu/files/RUU172752WWE.zip and it works fine. However do not forget to first backup and then Hard reset the device before upgrading
I have a 1.72 version ROM running on my imate. Is it possible to upgrade it to O2 ROM. Would there be any complications and would i need to upgrade the Radio Stack as well. Would the phone be operator-locked after the upgrade.
Are there any dire consequences and finally which is the best rom version to work on the imate.

If i dont want to upgrade to wm2003se and want to stick with my 1.72 rom is it possible i can only upgrade the radio version to 1.18. I mean is the radio version 1.18 compatible with teh 1.72 rom.

I have a QTEK 2020 with ROM 1.72.00WWE and Radio ver. 1.14.00. I wish to upgrade to WM2003SE. Is it safe to do it? Where can I find the file to upgrade it? I've already upgraded to 1.72.00WWE rom from qtek.nu with no problems, but since the Rom for WM2003SE is cooked can I have problems with my device?
You can savely upgrade to w2k3 SE.
Have done it and having no problem with it.
