Today my XDAII was finally exchanged after waiting f**king 4 weeks for it. Btw O2 has the worst customer service and the worst network of all German operators - Vodafone and T-Mobile exchange phones within 48h!
After initializing the new XDAII, which came with a 1.66 ROM version, I couldn't completely restore my backup (total 82 MB). I tried it several times with hard resets in between and every time ActiveSync would report, that some files could not be written to the XDAII. Unfortunately the contacts and the schedule were under these files.
So I called the O2 XDA hotline and the lady on the phone told me, the 1.66 version was withdrawn due to some insufficiencies and I should download the 1.60 upgrade (which is the only available version on O2's German website) and downgrade my XDAII.
Unfortuantely the downgrade process crashed for some inexplicable reason.
Now the XDAII shows only "Serial/USB Version 1.06" and when I retry the upgrade just after 30 secs this message appears:

Does anyone what the problem is? Shouldn't I listen to women?
I'm not willing to wait another month until these j**ks will exchange my XDAII.

and have sorted it out. Find someone with and XDAII and in about 1/2 an hour you can backup their ROMs to an SD card, put it in yours and it will download them when you boot to the bootloader.

which I think is the most stable one....
tested 24 hours with both 2.02ti & 2.06 with diffent ext Rom

so go back where I first start, CHS ver....
everything working good, no error/problems

hi all, my xda 1 has stopped being seen by activesync and get connected, i keep getting the message that no compatiable device was detected, i have uninstalled sync and re installed, i have soft and hard reset my xda, i have gone back to activesync 3.5 and have still had no joy, i am connecting through usb/cradle, On the xda activesync tools menu under options it gives the option of "enable sync. when cradled using" and a drop down menu, when i go to this dropdown menu it gives me NO options at all, could this be the problem and if so how do i set it up.
any suggestions, ideas would be much appriciated.
p.s sorry its so long.
I have the same problem had my XDA 1 in the drawer for months and have the Sepcial Edition ROM installed. 3.7.1 3.8 both give the same error.

activesync
Hi,
I had the same problem last week. Activesync suddenly stopped recognising the device. I restored the device to a previous state that activesync was working properly and it started working again. If you have a backup, you can use it or maybe hard reset the device. It is not a problem caused by activesync itself or windows because i tried all variations but only this was the solution. Hope it works for you too.
I have the wallaby bootloader and iti s not obvious how to do such a reset on it . Advice?
anyone got the new wm5 rom for the AT&T 8525?
i upgraded mine to wm6 and im downgrading back to WM5 to test somthing and i need the at&t version not the cingular one
also i need HERM100 SPL-2.03
so i can send my phone back to AT&T

i did look. they all said Cingular. and this phone is AT&T Branded so i wanted to get the AT&T rom

the SBB (Swiss Railways) finally released a wm port of their popular application for the Iphone. The screenshots look great, however I can't test the app because it should be downloaded through the Zune Software, but it doesn't recognize my HD2 since it isn't wp7 (argh). Could someone download it and make a cab? The database isn't limited to the Switzerland, thus it would very useful for everbody living in the Europe.

PS. A workaround might be to fool the Zune Software into thinking the HD2 as a WP7 phone. Anybody tried on that, perhaps by tampering with the inf files of the HD2 drivers?
umm, wp7 is completely different code. I don't think there is any chance to port this.

no chance that a soft for WP7 goes on WM6.x

That's so sad. I am fed up to stick on the HAFAS offline app. I thought that wp7 was only a cosmetic update...
What's the problem with the offline application provided by ZVV? In fact I consider it far more useful than any online version since it works even if you haven't got any network connection. And it covers entire Switzerland except some unimportant cable cars and the like. No other platform has got this, not even the Iphone with its countles apps.
well... which app do you takk abour, altea? offline app is better for me too, even if they take more place. But the given link in first post is for windows phone 7, what means not windows mobile 6.x compatible. If you have another soft, please share the link!!

I'm really hoping somebody can help me.
I connected to Zune and went through the standard update instructions but the phone froze at "step 9 of 9" - I think this was during a reboot.
It just hung on the network provider screen (Orange UK).
Now, it won't go past that at all.
Orange support will provide a replacement but that won't help since I would like to retrieve my media.
Any help would be gratefully received.
