hi. just bought an unlocked t-mobile with XDA v1.2. doesn't dial numbers stored on my SIM card (dials but doesn't connect) but dials manual numbers fine. also problem with dialing missed calls.
my main question is this... how do I delete this version and install the standard pocket pc and t-mobile software? will it stay unlocked?
You can get the rom from here http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ your phone will remain unlocked.
thanks for the link. so i figured out the rom version is 3.17.03 eng. by looking at the device information. but that version is not listed in the link. what am i doing wrong?

hi all. i will buy tomorrow an hd2 which is locked on vodafone Romania. can you tell me if there is a sim unlock for free? if it's not, which website or "way" is safer to use it for unlocking? also, if you know a cheaper one i don't mind . I need to be unlocked fast (let's say in 1h after i pay, maximum). Thank you very much.
P.S. i've tried to search on hd2 thread but didn't find nothing about this.
that should be possible
search how to preform a HSPL install and how to update ROM
There is no free sim unlock solution , hspl install does not unlock sim .
Contact korter_gsm on ebay
He sent me a code in less than 2 minutes.
ok. i will contact him.
i saw now his posts, but a little problem that i have is that I don't need to unlock T-mobile version, but European version (vodafone romania). do you know any other place?
P.S. does anybody know something about this website?
or about this website?
HI there. Its korter_GSM from Ebay.
Regarding Vodafone Romania HD2 want to tell you. I have all HD2 codes including newest ones with IMEI 038 and 039 in the middle. But as you may already read somewhere, there are some operators that relocked the phones after receiving them from factory. So as we are providing only Factory codes, for some operators it may be wrong. Tmobile USA and many other operators dont have this issue and code for them are 100% correct. For Vodafone Romania i never checked.
for example. For A1 Austria Factory codes are wrong!
If any other question, contact me at Email [email protected]
or MSN [email protected]
i've made it in Romania, with 25 euro. thx all!
Hello,
I'm hoping someone might know the answer as this is the first i've encountered such an issue.
Bought Galaxy S2 from Canada BELL carrier. got the phone unlocked previously. been flashing different ROM and update and is using XWLPM 4.0.4 ICS.
everything was working fine till about yesterday where a "Network Lock Control Key" popped up preventing me from accessing my SIM card. I do not believe my SIM is locked as i tested the SIM to another phone and it works fine without any security password.
somehow my phone is not locked again and i tried all the different unlocked method in the Playstore and nothing worked. it almost as seems the phone re-locked itself somehow.
my question is, is there a way to find out what network the phone is locked to so if i decide to purchase a unlock code, i know that it will work properly?
Appreciate any feedback or suggestions, as i need my phone desperate.!!! :crying:
Version 4.0.4
using Stock XWLPM Kernel (rooted)
Build XWLPM
Baseband using LD3 baseband = UGLD3 <-- Bell Carrier Modem Baseband.
Thanks
Why create another thread ? You've got a related open thread a couple of posts down you could have continued to use (changed the OP & title).
my bad ,total noob move.. i felt that it was a different question so i created another post. i can delete but not sure how!! any direction would be appreciated.
Use older thread. Locked
Sorry I'm another noob to android.
I have an unlocked but branded O2 GT-I9100, I am trying to use a Tesco sim, everything works apart from the mobile internet. I have manually set up the Tesco APN on numerous occaisions but still can't it. When I put an O2 sim in, everything works perfectly.! I have tried vodafone sim and it's the same as Tesco. It seems like the firmware is somehow blocking anything but O2 from accessing the data connection. Is there an easy soloution.? thanks
model : GT-I9100
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: I9100XXLPW
Kernal version: 3.0.15-I9100XWLD-CL524746 [email protected]#3
Build number: IML74K.XWLPD
Remove all APN's. Add only the Tesco APN, ensuring you choose 'default' as APN type. Reboot. Check to ensure the Tesco APN hasn't gone away after you've rebooted. Test.
If you've already done the above, I'm tipping the phone's locked (it does sound that way from the details in your post; you're having the same problem with two sims/different carriers).
O2 phones are meant to be unlocked anyhow....same as unbranded.
Can you confirm youve had the phone since new.
It shouldn't matter if the phone is locked or not as Tesco use o2s masts and so the phone won't know the difference
If voice calls work then presumably that proves the phone is unlocked and it is therefore most likely to be an APN settings issue?
I use a GiffGaff SIM in an unlocked SII GT-I9100 which operates in the same way as Tesco (both run as 'virtual operators' on the O2 network). Once the GiffGaff APN settings are applied the data connection works fine for me.
Maybe you can post the exact settings you're using for your Tesco APN configuration and someone can take a look at them.
Alternatively, are there any apps that help with APN settings? Tweakker, for example, claims to cover Tesco Mobile so might help. Note that there is a separate "Tweakker ICS APN Beta" for Android 4.x devices.

Thank You All for replying, I have fixed the problem. I have de-branded O2 from the phone and the APN is now working on all networks
using Odin3
Firmware: I9100XWKF1
Andriod Version: v4.0.3
By 'debranding' do you mean you flashed a different rom/CSC or simply removed all the guff/apps carriers put in their stock roms ?
Edit - Glad you got it sorted BTW

I Flashed the firmware and now it's like straight from the factory.. lol
Which firmware (I.E which carrier's stock rom or was it unbranded UK, or something else entirely ?) single file in PDA section of Odin or multi-part ? Reason I'm asking is if someone else has a similar problem, your solution might give them some clues as to how to fix it if we know exactly what you did.
This is what I did

I googled the problem, and found a website that de-brands, even tho I could probably find the software for free, I bought it (£9.99) and followed the instructions :
C:\Program Files (x86)\FoneFunShop i9100 Debrand Pack\Guide\I9100_Guide.html
Hope someone finds this useful

Morning all,
I have had my Tmobile supplied S2 for 18 months and need to move to orange so that I can have UMA running on my S2, I have no signal at all here at home and my other blackberry works perfectly fine over UMA.
I have asked Tmobile for a Pac code which is now registered on an orange SIM, I have also asked Tmobile for the sim unlock code which I had to pay 15.32.
Couple of questions that I need answering really if you could help.
1) How long does it take for Tmobile to provide you with the sim unlock code.....I have been waiting about 10 days already
2) Once I receive the sim unlock code shall i just put my orange sim in and unlock it.
3) Will the handset remain unlocked no matter what firmware I install.
4) Installing orange firmware....once unlocked can I just install stock Orange firmware straight onto the S2.
5) Does the latest stock orange firmware come with UMA already as part of the firmware.
I have in the past rooted and uploaded different firmware but cant remember which one then went back to stock tmobile using odin if i remember correctly so im not a total num nuts.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated, I think that im correct that once unlocked I can install any firmware and my handset will remain unlocked, but any pointers would be greatly received.
Thanks and happy new year to all at XDA
General help with ROMs and Networks
Dear Members of the Forum!
This is my first post here, and I would like to ask for your help. I have an HTC One Max Sprint edition, and have some questions regarding ROMs, and network types. I would like to take this phone with me to Europe, and use it there. What are the required steps to do so?
I have read that there is a command and a tool to sim unlock these devices, however, my Android version is 4.4.2 with software version 3.02.651.8, and the utility is no longer present. I tried finding a RUU for the JB43 image, but was out of luck. But honestly, my main problem is that I am confused. What makes this phone stick to Sprint? Can I use this with a SIM card on a 2G/3G/4G network? Can I flash an international image on the device, and if so, will it unlock my device to be used with a European SIM?
I know I ask a lot of you, but can you please try to help me?
Also, if anything is out of order here with my post, please tell me, so I can be a better part of the community.
Thank you in advance
