MMS on Qtek 2020 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Greetings one and all
A small problem but one that is driving me to distraction. I have a pair of Qtek 2020 on ROM 1.66.00WWE and they will not send MMS.
I have tryed all the configuration files I can find for Vodafone UK ..... no good.
I have tryed searching in the forums and have managed to upgrade my XDA 2 to imate 1.72.00WWE which will allow the MMS to function ok but no joy applying the same to the 2 Qteks
Thank you in advance
Paul

does it recieve them ok ?

Hi Rudegar
To be honest I havent tryed as the main requirement is sending to people with "ordinary" phones !
Would this prove anything, I know the SIM and subscription are ok because they work in my phone.

do "normal" phones even support mms ?
i know many dont
but my gf's nokia 3000 does even if it dont have a cam
i just sugested it as a way to see if it was the settings or the mms composer or the network or something else
have you tried doing a search in the forum to see if other people on vodaphone are having success ?

yes I have spent the best part of 2 days on and of I think it is a composer problem as once the upgrade was completed on my XDA 2 MMS was fine.
I just need to find a ROm image of 1.72 WWE for qtek if such a unicorn exists !

02 2 spv m1000

Hello world
How do i make my xda into spv?
i cant use my gprs connection as i dont know how to configure it to Orange uk
i can get email via dial up connections but this as far as my techie stuff goes
any info?
Take a look here ... http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
Hopefully it will help you.
Alternatively you could completely make the XDA into a SPV by overwriting the extended ROM with the SPVs ROM from the Orange site and hard resetting
There is a comprehensive guide to all the settings you need for an XDAII in this thread.

2003se upgrade killed mms?!?

Hi all,
I have just upgraded my xdaII to the 2003se edition with no probs. I’ve also installed the Network setting cab from http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13498&highlight=o2+gprs+settings
Now my O2 mms send and receive doesn’t work. I can connect to wap gprs and web gprs but my mms messages download or send?
I’ve now re-installed the network cab 5 times and tried a few different settings from various sites but no luck. And for some reason the o2 site won’t let me have them either?
Any clues? Or is there another cab file somewhere in this huge forum that I can’t see?
Ok..... thanks for looking those who did.
I found the solution in the end. the original o2 mms cab file from the link above was missing the server address info so after more trawling through this gold mine of information i found this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16826&highlight=o2+server+settings which has that info and works a treat!

Unlocked M3100 on O2 - no internet/MMS

All,
I'm being driven crazy by a recalcitrant Orange M3100. I had my old one set up no problem with O2 but it got stolen so my friend gave me his old one. Now I cannot get mobile internet/MMS etc to work. When I try to connect I get the "there is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network". This was the case with both Orange's WM5 and Shaps WM6.
I've studied all the posts on here and have installed a radio ROM that, apparently, should work but it still doesn't. I've tried about 6 but none of them solve the problem. Voice/SMS work fine as does WIFI. Current setup is as follows:
ROM: Schap's 4.31
ROM date: 10/03/07
Radio: 1.47.00.10
Protocol: 32.80.7020.20H
It's unlucked and HardSPL7 is installed.
If anyone could help me out I'd be really grateful!
I've recently set up my m3100 using o2 to receive mms,
following the settings on this website.
That was the only one that has worked for me.
http://www.m3w.co.uk/2006/11/o2-settings/
i don't know about internet, but mms works.
hope this helps
regards
Thanks Sniuk - will tag that for future reference. I've now just solved the problem and, ultimately, it was nothing to do with the phone. Despite me having asked *twice* O2 had failed to notice and remove the GPRS bar that was put in place along with all the other bars when my handset was stolen last week!!
They've given me some free line rental to apologise, though

NO SMS after flash to 6.5

So i upgraded to win 6.1 then 6.5.
Seeing how it was my first time doing it, i let sprints custom run on 6.1 and now i can not send sms.
Does anyone have a stock 6800 on uscc that i could get the epst settings from ?
I have double checked all of my epst settings but still cant send sms.. I can call out/receive get online and got the gps working but no sms.
using radio 3.42.50
and win 6.5 build 21820 Sprint Mattsm
with the dcd USCC Carrier 20080801 Cab
After searching three different forum.. i wonder if it could be due to the fact i have no value for my a-key in epst ? any idea how to get one ?
so just fyi for others if this happens.. EPIC FAIL !! .. i did not have my SMS turned on for that line, it was my business phone and had forgot to i had uscc disable txt messing on the line.
Woot ! go me after like 4 hours of researching !

MMS from TMN Portugal not working on HTC with Windows Phone 7

Hi!
I just wanted to tell people that MMS configuration for the network TMN Portugal on HTC devices running Windows Phone 7 such as HTC HD7, HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy... is not working! It's not possible to send or receive MMS messages on HTC devices with TMN Portugal but mobile internet works fine.
I haven't find a solution until now, because using manual configuration of the APN won't solve the problem either. HTC knows the problem exists since the launch day of their devices and have done nothing to solve this! Its been several months now...
The culprit is probably the HTC Connection Setup application that don't have the right settings for TMN Portugal. Using Vodafone Portugal or Optimus Portugal SIM cards on the HTC devices works fine and these can send and receive MMS messages.
This should be relatively simple to solve, with an update on the Connection Setup application, but its really very annoying that HTC is not doing anything to solve this!

The big question is; will they ever do anything about it?
Remember the time zone problem? They never fixed it...
Hi! I sure hope they will fix this! I have been bothering the HTC support for a while but they are stating they know the problem, but still have nothing that can solve it!
What a wreck
just go into the htc hub
tap get more
slide to aplications and tap more
install connection Setup an run it
tested it myself, working mms with optimus
good luck

Since the default isn't working for me...

You have missed Proxy server/URL.
No need to do it that way, just use that HTC app from market, connection manager or something like that (configurador de ligação in PT). Choose your network and voilá!
Only problem i have is that this only works if my data connection is set to "ON", if not.. MMS are not sent (or received..)
And having in mind that portuguese networks data plans are so expensive.. It means no MMS on my phone
Android had the option to disable data but mms would still work, i guess im going back to it, even if that makes me sad =/
EDIT: Android has the option and for WinMo 6.5 we had that wonderful app called NoData, i miss it now xD
