Somebody knows what happen after the "soft" o "hard reset"?

A soft reset is just like a reboot, it clears memory but doesnt affect installed programs or stored data. A hard reset clears memory and also clears all installed programs and data, the data on sd memory card remains unaffected.

Are there anywhere than we can installed our program that when doing hard reset it cannot be cleared? I know from other post, you can installed in memory cards but it will take ur battery life compared installed in memory especilly in XDAII.

Your Pocket Pc have other 2 memory blocks:
Storage and Extended..
You can install there permanently your programs

Yes you can install to ram disc/storage, memory however any adjustments made to the main files in the xda will be lost on hard reset which will render the programs inoperative.

Clear memory from phone?

Hi
I just transferred ALL pics and movies from phone memory to my external card thats 8 GB.
Still it says my phone have 6GB free of 11GB..
So 5 GB are used on what??
Have tried cache cleaners of many kinds but they dont delete much..Maybe 5 MB.
So im wondering why the phone memory take so much GB when im not able to see it anywhere.
Under phone i have a lot of folders, but it dont seem like they are big.
Whats the best thing to do to get more memory on the phone?
Formating?
Well I don't know what you want but if you press *2767*3855# then the phone will do a Factory Reset (All data on Phone memory will be wiped clean, setting and other stuffs too). Remove your SD Card before doing it.
Regards.

Ok.Just think its strange the phone take 5 GB on nothing i can see..
What happens to my backup i made on CWC?
And is this the same kind of factory reset i do in settings-private-?
I can reset to factory there to..
Cache is stored on the data partition not on the sd card so that won't help. Have you already rebooted and check the (hidden) files/folders in /mnt?
2GB for the system/user data.
And loads of other small partitions for cache's, boot loader, modem, etcetc.
Also look at this thread which has all the answers you want.

Random factory reset

My phone (sk17i ) did a hard reset with a full wipe of the sd card contents. Do not know how this happened. I was at 10 percent battery, i just pressed the button on top and it just restarted and now the sd card is wiped clean but i do have my google account on the phone. This is stock firmware , stock rom , rooted with blocked bootloader, only modifications are systemui and quickpanel ( colored ) . Other root applications are Xperia Cwm Auto Installer and titanium backup. Is there a log i can look into to see what happened ?

I think there isn't any log for that action.
Are you sure you didn't doing something with your SK17i before it got fully wiped..??
By default, there is no background logging process in order to have better performance and battery life.
I did not do anything . i was just checking the battery life. so i opened the phone looked at the 10% of battery that i had left and closed it. Now- any good sd card data restoring software anybody can help me with. I need a good one , and i tried 4 until now and i can't seem to find anything on that sd card.
If the SDcard was formatted, then there is only a very small chance to restore anything.
From Wikipedia
As in file deletion by the operating system, data on a disk are not fully erased during every[17] high-level format. Instead, the area on the disk containing the data is merely marked as available, and retains the old data until it is overwritten. If the disk is formatted with a different file system than the one which previously existed on the partition, some data may be overwritten that wouldn't be if the same file system had been used. However, under some file systems (e.g., NTFS, but not FAT), the file indexes (such as $MFTs under NTFS, inodes under ext2/3, etc.) may not be written to the same exact locations. And if the partition size is increased, even FAT file systems will overwrite more data at the beginning of that new partition.
From the perspective of preventing the recovery of sensitive data through recovery tools, the data must either be completely overwritten (every sector) with random data before the format, or the format program itself must perform this overwriting, as the DOS FORMAT command did with floppy diskettes, filling every data sector with the byte value F6 in hex.
However there are applications and tools, especially used in forensic information technology, that can recover data that has been conventionally erased. In order to avoid the recovery of sensitive data, governmental organization or big companies use information destruction methods like the Gutmann method or the DoD 5220 of the National Industrial Security Program[18]. For average users there are also special applications that can perform complete data destruction by overwriting previous information. Although there are applications that perform multiple writes a single write is generally all that is needed on modern hard disk drives.

From my personal experience i restore from my sd card in photocamera (fat32 like here) few 5 years photo even when i using this camera. Its becouse theses jpg files wasnt ovewrited with other. But that program was especialy designed for photo files only.
My point is i thing there is bigger chance just keep away from formating and ofc make restoring to your hard drive
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
So - for photos i used East Imperial Soft Magic Photo Recovery - did a great job, except it changed the names of the photos .
And for the other files i'm using EASUS data recovery wizard -this is the best thing ever. It recognized a ton of files and right now i'm restoring all my files.

[Q] 0.00kb Internal Storage (after factory reset & flash)

My wife has an eLocity A7+ tablet (running Android 2.2 - rooted - stock ROM - with 4GB internal storage). She was trying to install an app and received a warning that the install could not be completed, due to lack of storage space. After checking, I was surprised to see she had 0.00kb of internal storage remaining. I removed all of her downloaded apps, cleared all app caches, and cleared her browser history. No change. I then manually deleted dalvik-cache to free up ~60mb, then did a factory reset and reinstalled her firmware with no further change in available space.
I happened to notice there were many remnants of old apps (e.g., folders, photos, videos, etc.) still existing on the tablet, so am now also wondering why the tablet was not fully wiped with the re-flashing and factory reset.
Is there anything else I could try to fix this?
Cheers!
it must be a hardware problem

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think it's hardware related... I could be wrong though. It seems to me the internal storage is just not getting cleaned (maybe a bloated database, cache, temp file, etc.). I've tried searching through the folders, but just can't seem to find the culprit(s). Is there a way to format / wipe the internal storage or the entire tablet before re-flashing??? I've tried a few apps that are supposed to help, but with no success. I'm going to try another (SD Maid) when I get home from work, but was hoping there may be some other tricks I coult try as well.
Fixed!!!

UPDATE: Fixed it with SD Maid Pro. Now I have 1.50GB free space.

[PROBLEM] No free space on drive - cannot install/update apps

Hello everyone, cause I am new here.
I hope I've set this topic in a proper forum. I seem it is a general problem, not connected with specific model of phone.
It began when I was updating apps on the phone - I saw a message about a lack of free space. Update couldn't be continued. I had CyanMobile eXperience custom ROM, my phone is Samsung Galaxy Mini.
Firstly, I tried to clean SD card, removing most of photos taken with camera. It helped for a short period of time, but although I had plenty of free room on SD card, the problem returned. There was no free place on the internal memory.
I tried to move all possible apps to SD card using options from settings menu (most of them were already on the card, I had done it before), but this also help for a short time.
So I entered Recovery and used Wipe Cache. What is important - probably without any need I used also Fix Permissions option. After this, the phone stopped reacting, so I turned out the battery (now I know that I shouldn't do it).
After a reboot, the OS and the launcher returned to factory settings. I understand that it's a consequence of Wipe Cache. But, additionally, Home key stopped working. I guess that it might be because of the wrong use of the Fix Permissions. So I repeated it (waiting until the Fix Permissions finishes), but it didn't help. Home key didn't work all the time.
I read that the only solution is reflashing the ROM, so i decided to install something newer: this CyanogenMod. It helped for a Home hey problem, but not for a free space problem.
Somebody adviced me to use Link2SD app. I managed to install it after removing few apps and moved all possible apps to SD card with this app. To do it, I had to repartition the card. I made 512 MB Ext4 partition (my SD card is 2 GB) for Link2SD. Installed one or two updates and the problem came back again.
I have no idea what to do now. I'm wondering about Wipe Data, but I am not convinced to do it, cause I would have to install everything again. Moreover, I seem that it won't give much, after installing all the apps and updates it will be no free place in the phone internal drive again.
Meanwhile, don't know why: due to Fix Permissions misuse, Wipe Cache, or changing ROM, some apps vanished.
The OS shows 23,95 MB free space in the internal memory (total capacity - 178 MB, 58,71 MB used by apps data, 576 MB by cache, so about 120 MB strangely disappeared) and 370 MB free space on SD card (not taking into account Link2SD partition - second one with FAT16: capacity 1,36 GB, 56 KB taken by apps data, 27,2 MB by photos and movies, 64 KB by sounds, 80,55 MB by downloaded data, 288 KB - cache, 545 MB - "different").
Strange is this "eaten" part of the phone internal drive.
What to do now?

[Q] Tablet has 0 rom memory and hard reset at all boot.

Hello there,
I have a M3964 tablet.
I installed Boot Manager menu without knowing that the application was inconsistent.
I thought that this application could allow me to do a dual boot on the shelf but I misconfigured.
My tablet is root but has no rom memory (I can not install any application because the rom memory is 0 octects) except app2sd compatible application.
And when I restart the tablet, it makes a hard reset itself which deletes my configurations.
I wanted to reinstall the system via software but the pc does not detect the tablet.
In fact, it is because I misconfigured Boot Manager menu, I wanted to test a dual boot system with no rom memory, Roote, and hard reset option at startup (I clicked on anything therefore, these 3 options).
As my tablet is not compatible dual boot, the tablet starts on the misconfigured system.
I research how to solve my problem or at least disable the hard reset automatically at startup and change the ROM memory (no internal memory, just the ROM memory) by the memory of my sd card (detected as ext-sd ).
Sorry for my bad English
Thank you in advance to those who can help me.
