Forgot simcard pin - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi
I have an old sim card i'm not using since a long time ago.. and "#!!, i forgot the pin... Now i want to use for some tests...but no pin.
Since i'm new in these "bootloader" and "so on" things, can anybody help me how to get rid of the sim card pin ?
thanks!

Use the PUK code
Use the PUK code delivered with your SIM to reset the PIN for the SIM. It has nothing to do with the bootloader.
If you've also lost the paper with the PUK code on it then try calling the Service Provider from whom the SIM came.
If the Service Provider can't help you then you're on your own.
Regards,
Mark

yeah
IF i had the PUK . . .

Vodafone online will provide puk, just log on to internet.

Set up SIM PIN Number...

Hi!
I have done a search and cannot find the answer to this...
How do I go about setting up a PIN number for my SIM card so that when the phone/radio is restarted it asks for the SIM PIN number?
I have just got a new SIM from Vodafone and want to put a PIN number on it - I cannot see how to do this... on my old SIM card I allocated a PIN number thru my N95 (ages ago lol!) ...
Any help will be appreciated!

Alan

[Q] PUC code related to unlock menu?

So on my phone, I have a sim card pin setup when you turn it on. After you incorrectly enter the pin number 3 times, it locks you out until you call your service provider. So I called my service provider, who gave me a PUC (pin unlock code) code and told me that there should be an option that says enter your puc or something like that. But there wasn't, so the assistant asked me to enter it in the emergency dialer. When I hit dial after entering the PUC, it said that it was not an emergency dialer. According to the assistant, it should have automatically accepted the code, bringing me to the issue of the unlock menu. On stock, when you enter in *2945#500#, it should automatically accept the code, but on custom roms, it doesnt. I believe the two issues are related, but I would like to confirm this first. And maybe this might be sort of a request to the devs asking if they can include the unlock menu (i have read that it is not implemented as it is useless to most people) since now I have to get a new SIM card (not that it is the devs' fault, but it would be useful for people like me).
Or you could borrow a dumbphone and use that to unlock your sim (unless you get to keep your old number if you get a new one).
I have yet to experience needing a PUC on my sim on this phone on this ROM.

just tried that but it didnt work. probably because my sim card has been locked permanently
if a simcard is locked, than its locked and can only be unlocked by a PUK code.
You can order a new SIM card from network provider, its possile i know if the PUK is locked too because of to many failed trys.
even if i break the code to use the SIM card again, you cant make calls nor use
the contacts on the SIM - the network provider is checking the SIM status and
locks it again.

thanks for the reply.
but does the PUK code have anything to do with the unlock menu or those hidden codes in general? i know that on stock froyo, some codes are accepted automatically in the regular dialer. on custom roms, these codes are not accepted in the regular dialer at all. the emergency dialer did not accept the PUK code just like how the regular dialer did not accept the other codes (such as *2945#500#) and i was told that it was supposed to accept the code.
sorry, i never used hidden menus and dont know if its implemented in android source
or its a extra feature by manufacturers like LG, HTC,Samsung etc.
As i know the PUK is only for unlock the SIM when the chip is locked and can only be entered on a lockscreen keypad.
finally solved the puk issue. on my phone it did not ask for me to input the puk code. then i inserted my sim card in my dad's phone (same phone except running on stock froyo). now it asked me for a puk code. if only custom roms had this functionality of accepting these codes...

[Q] PIN question

Hello guys
I unlocked a P500h locked on Koodo, Canada with a code bought from ebay. I followed the instructions and succeeded from the first try.
I then received an SMS with settings (the sim is an Orange Romania roaming on Rogers network) and when I tried to install those I was asked for a PIN. I tried 4 0's (0000) but it didn't work.
Can anyone help me? Does it have to do with the phone or with the sim? What is the default value of such a pin?
Thanks in advance!
I guess you did the unlock this way?
Code:
1. Power ON your phone with not allowed sim card (one that didn’t come with the phone)
2. Type 2945#*500#
3. the phone will ask you to input the unlock code twice, just input the unlock code
4. Device is now unlocked
Can you post what it's askin precisely? Is it pin or pin2 for example?
Did you try the pin you received with your sim-card?
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
It says
Pin code
The authentication should be done within 3 times.
Enter PIN code
And there's a box where I'm supposed to enter the PIN. I tried 0000 and 1234, but it didn't work.
I don't remember any pin other than the default 0000, which does not work.
I can input those settings by hand, no problem, but it pisses me off.
I can't call customer service 'cause I am not in Romania. Guess it'll wait till the summer.
But, what PIN is it asking?
Thanks for taking care of me. I am hitting the thanks button as soon as I submit my reply
Danke schon!
PS That was the method I used to unlock...the one that you pointed out... it cost me $2.99

Locked PUK Code..

I Got my code from Straight Talk a few minutes ago. but they don't know where to tell me to enter the code because it's not one of their phones, I brought my Amaze with me from T-Mobile. anyway, I went to the HTC website to try to find out how to enter. but I don't know where a next button is on my dialer screen? or an OK button? this is what HTC website says:
Restoring a SIM card that has been locked out
If you enter the wrong PIN more times than the maximum number of attempts allowed, your SIM card will become “*PUK-locked.”
Important: You need a PUK code to restore access to HTC Amaze 4G. This code may have been provided by T-Mobile when you received your SIM card.
On the Phone dialer screen, enter the PUK code, and then tap Next.
Enter the new PIN you want to use, and then tap Next.
Enter the new PIN again, and then tap OK.
HELP ME!
There's a dialer code to enter first (like#123456##*# er something)...
Then it brings up a screen where you enter the puk code.
I have no idea what the dialer code is... I just gave a random example of what it will look like !!!

Try using this in dialed
**05*[PUK]*[New PIN]*[New PIN again]#
_______________________________
For Example: if PUK # 12345678
**05*12345678*9123*9123#
89148000006655895280
Need puk code for my sim

The PIN and the PUK with SIM Unlocking?

I've read a lot about unlocking phones over the years. But this is the first time I have actually come up on a feature called "Sim Card Lock" where you enter a PIN to lock a particular Sim card. This feature is unlocked as long as I have my Sprint Sim in the phone. But as soon as I put in, like say, an AT&T Sim the Sim Lock feature turns on and locks. In other words, it has a checkmark where I have to enter a PIN to unlock it. Sorry to seem like a complete noob. But is this the same "sim unlock" many are trying to crack? There must be a PIN that has been coded in that locks down any foreign Sim. If so, it seems like it would be possible to figure it out. Every time I enter the incorrect PIN code, it always says I have "0 attempts left". So I can enter it as many times as I like without locking down my ATT Sim. Anyone know of a way to figure this out. Or is it even possible at all?
