Anyone here know if is possibile use ringtones you download from Nokia site , they are .rng format extension , to XDA ?
any help will be appreciated

I've found that Caller ID 1.2 on Magician can use .MP3 for ringtone.
While the Caller ID 1.2 on Himalaya can only use .wma, .wav, .3gp, .mp4, .mid.
I just wonder if we could modify the Himalaya to set mp3 as ringtone.

I am using the 1.20 on my XDA2 but i can't use mp3 as ring tone...
maybe it's from WM2003SE???
you can always download Windows Media Encoder from microsoft and convert mp3 in wma.
all you need to do is copy the mp3's into the rings directory in windows\rings. Goto settings > phone. In the ringtone list the mp3 will be there. The add ringtone function does not work for mp3's.
I just tried this copying of mp3's into the rings folder in windows.
And when I open the ringtone list it still doesn't display the mp3.
I'm running the Sin merged rom (2003se) on an iMate PocketPC (Standard Himalaya)
Any thoughts?

hi ya all!!!I got dis prob solved.I get dis freeware (4get which website )=setasringtone.I install it 2 my xda2 & I get dis software dbpower amp & convert de mp3 file 2 wondow media v9 format & copy 2 my sd card on my xda & I used dis setasringtone & it works!!!javascript:emoticon(':lol:')

I use WM5storage with WM6 Rom on my S200 but it's very very slow, when my S200 was in WM5 i used Card Export Softick. But i have try Softick in my WM6 and they don't run.
Any other program like WM5storage work in WM6??

it lets you use the sd card on your device as a usb flash.
but for me, it is more probable that I am carrying a usb flash than a usb cable.
if you already have an sd card reader on your computer or use activesync to copy files to your device you'll never need it.

Thanxxx, I thought so already. It sounds a bit out of date.... But then again, if someone can use it, do it! I still wonder why it is present on so many ROM's while space to add usefull stuff is limited. I guess that points out the difference in how we use our Prophet!
It's because of Prophet USB hardware is support only version1.
USB1 Bandwidth is very low when complare with USB2 (~15mbps and ~480mbps)
But this tool is very usefull for me.
i love WM5torage!
for me WM5torage is very useful software for swapping tunes and stuff with friends or works computers (no activesync available there).
As for others, there's one that does the same job called "storage reader"; it's in some ROMS, i think it's in "fantastic mobiz" ROMS. To me, the speed felt the same though.
Softick looks interesting, the compatibility list for the new version states Wizard and Touch(Elf) are supported so surely Prophet too?
why I like wm5torage
The reason I have it in my rom's are as followed
I repaire compurters and I's handy to have some small programs on when going out to customors home's.
When I'm in the car I can use it to conect to the carsterio(it has a usb conection) and this alows me to charge the phone while it at the same time functions as an mp3 player and thats good enough reason for me to keep it in my roms I think

Me too i have a mp3 player in my car et i have a usb connection i connect my phone and i listen the mp3 in my phone by the player.
But for the transfert when i'm in WM5 card export it's fast than WM5Storage

People need it because it's usefull.
For example: u take a picture by ur mobile phone but u need to edit it by Photoshop. How the way to take out the picture from ur fone without activesync program?
Hello everyone!
Since Im a completely new HTC or even windows mobile user..this kind of cell makes me kind of sick...everything is so complicated...I had symbians before and it was so simply to send any kind of files to other machine...or even set a desktop image or use mp3 as a ringtone...just few clicks and everything were et one place.
On windows mobile everything needs to be set up separately...e.g. if I open an image from album..I can preview it and send vie massage or share on SN's...but cannot send it via bluetooth or set it up as a destkop image. Thats the same with MP3s.
Also I wanted to send a single cab file to other machine via BT but could not found out how.
Could somebody help me or advice me how to to that things more simple?

Download vlc player for free on the pc. It will play all video formats known to man

i allready had instaled the vlc and nothing ....when i put those files in my laptopi don't remember exactly if i was asked if i want or not to convert those files....but no reason now i can not watch thoe not on my computer not on my phone....can be because there were to long or why???
CAN ANYONE COULD HELP PLZZ!!!!!!

You need to find the full format information on these dotmp4 files then find a player if not convert .

You say they won't even play on the phone now? Sounds like they have been corrupted somewhere along the line.
I suggest shooting a new video and retry the transfer process and see if you can identify how they got corrupted

I have a dsp in my car audio system
I was given .exe and apk files for tuning on pc and phone
along with those I was given an APK for controlling playback of music when a USB dirive is plugged into the dsp
That APK doesnt work at all on my android 11 nor through bluestacks on my laptop which is running windows 8
I tried to find a solution using android editor on my phone and android editor studio on pc
The app on my phone told fatal error and the pc software informed me of a java script error say the file did not exist
That is as far as my level of competence got me
I really dont know where to start. what I would like is to have the apk with controls music playback work on my phone,
I thought I would see if someone could point me in the right direction or look at the file and see if it can even be done ill attach the files ya dont have to look at them if you dont want
they are 2 zip files one contains a firmware update which I thought might help in fixing the apk but that i realized wtf do I know about firmware anyways ty again
