Alarm sounds - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I'm so frustrated with my alarm, it doesn't wake me up no matter how high I set the volume. Could someone give me other alarm sounds which can really wake me up? Perhaps a really noisy and sharp sound, i dont know how to describe it, i just know that nokia does it good in their alarm feature.

LOL! Try put this ringtone for you Alarm Sound!

What alarm clock?

Hi guys,
What alarm clock do you use? Since the time I have flashed to the Cingular ROM, the speaker is not (imho) so loud. I really need something to wake me up in the morning
With the European ROM I have been using Sunnysoft Alarm and now it is not so loud. I am using Gentimer now. It seems ok, but is some other alarm clock even louder? (I dont need any mp3 or wma support, just some clock ringing) Thanks
CityTime alarm. You can set there maximum volume and also this nice little app can ignore current profile (i.e. silent) if you want it too. Just try it. It's not free, however. 4ALL
I use the alarm included in settings. It works great and annoying enough to wake me and the whole house.

alarm tones no longer work!!!

Hello!
My alarm tones have stopped playing when the alarm goes off the phone just vibrates which is quite annoying as it made me late for work today!
has anyone come accross this before and know how to fix it???
cheers!
Iain
That happened to me, i downloaded audiomanager and set the alarm volume to max. Hasn't happened since!
Happened to me, go into alarm sounds (where you pick the sound of your alarm), then adjust volume, only place it appears, took me ages to find it.
...sorry, where's Alarm Sounds? Can't find a volume option
use the volume buttons whilst on alarm sounds

[Q] No ring tone

My Atrix is not ringing. No noise at all. No joke. And I have no idea why.
- It isn't switched to vibration
- Ring tone volume is on maximum
- In the menu where to choose a ring tone, the ring tones are working perfect.
- The sound is working fine with video or audi player. So no defect.
What is new, the alarm clock sound isn't very loud as well.
In my opinion momentary there are the following possibilities:
- It is in some way related to my upgrade to Gingerbread
- There is an application, I installed, blocking my sound
Probably the the last one seems to be very likely.
Any idea ? Somebody with the some experience. Please help. It is so stupid a phone which can not ring.
I understand this sounds stupid or as I am joking. But I am not. When my phone rings there is no ring tone, only vibration. Of course I checked all the settings. Can not find any disable of ring tone.
No ideas where to investigate ?

Low volume for alarms/ringtone

Hi all,
Bit of a question here.
I've just upgraded from a Galaxy S3 to the Xperia Z2 and overall I'm loving it so far. It's just such a huge difference. Only thing I'm missing is a screen protector (As soon as I removed the peel from the one included in the box it just seemed to suck dust from the air and became impossible to put on without dust and bubbles being under it ) but overall it's a great experience.
The only issue I have is that, compared to my S3, and compared to the volume that games/videos can reach, my ringtone and alarms seem to be very low volume, even when the volume is turned up to maximum.
Is this something others have noticed?
I've tried several alarm apps, the stock one, Alarm Clock Plus and Alarm Clock Xtreme Free but all of them put the alarm at the same level which just isn't as high as I could get from the S3.
Does anyone know of a way to boost this? The alarm in particular is what concerns me the most, since I use my phone as an alarm clock to get up in the mornings for work. At the moment I'm a tad paranoid so keeping my sim-less S3 as a backup alarm to go off 5 minutes later

Not possible unless Sony updates their firmware.
Needs root to change the gain levels.
me to I've just upgraded from a LG G2 to Z2 and i have same issue the notification/ringtone very low
Hm. Well, for me, my alarm wakes me up just fine. I'm not exactly a light-sleeper, but definitely not a heavy one either.
As for text messages... I do occasionally not hear it.
Darn. Hopefully it's something Sony address in future updates.
I'm looking to avoid rooting at the moment given that I bought the phone Sim-free so am rather paranoid about bricking it.
Same thing for me.. Tried to play some music first then turn on the alarm and it's such a difference! I too use my phone as an alarm and I really can't be late for work anymore Tried several alarm apps as well but no luck.. Hope they fix it soon

Will check this option and share my experience
Thanks anyhow
Any confirmation?
I thought it was the volume security policy used by Sony like on their MP3 Walkman.
Anyone tried with Viper4android?

Thanks, tried it and its noticeably louder when receiving a sms
I haven't tried it yet, but this thread mentions another setting that might boost the volume of the internal speaker.
Will be testing it later today when I get home from work. Don't want to be testing my alarm in the middle of the office XD

Enable xloud as well
low ringtone for alarm
Hi,
In the sound selection menu for the alarm I have the possibility to replay a new possible tone. This is much louder than the alarm and it is much louder when the tone that is emitted when I pull the volume slider for the alarm to the right and keep pressed, which is too quiet for me. Currently, I find no way to set a reasonable volume. Currently, the vibrator is almost louder.
What have I done so far? I tried diffent sounds and mp3s. I have turned off all sound effects. No increase the ringer volume, no EQ, no Sourroundsound, no Clearaudio +, no normalization. The adjustable volume, is whe I use the side-mounted switches -> to maximum. Also the menu Sound settings volume - every sound slider is at max. However, the max volume is also different than the volume that is output when I replay this file in the menu where I can choose the alarm tone. The replayed sound is much louder and enough for me.
Please not a new ROM, I do not want to tinker.
Thanks for your help
Greetings
P.
This sound issue is already fixed on the new FW (.314).

No, the newest software .314 doesn't fix the problem. Without xloud and normalization(this helps the most I think) turned on I could barely hear notifications. Now they are the same level as when I play them from notification picker. Which all is kind of weird to be honest. Ringtone is normal when somebody rings me. But level of notifications when SMS comes or whatever is 2 times quieter than when playing sound from notification picker in settings menu.

There's a mod in Themes and app section where you can get both speakers working for notification as stock Sony ROM only use bottom speaker for notifications. This might help a bit
One thing I've noticed with xLoud is that if I put the phone into vibrate/silent mode, then the xLoud setting no longer takes effect when I put the volume back up again. Even if I disable and re-enable the xLoud checkbox, I'm back to the volume I got without xLoud. The only way to get it working is to power off the phone and then power it back on again.

Yea I used the mod before but that doesn't change anything :/ Sony messed up firmware.
xperia Z3
I solved the problem. I downloaded the app Ringtone Maker, opened it in the desired mp3. Click on the Fade and volume and set to 4-5. Save as like new notification and add to the desired application. Done.

Ring tone/msg tone question

I feel that the ring tone and message tones volume are too low. I've already have it turned on to MAX
but I still feel its too low. How can I go about to making it louder? I had OPO and I loved loved loved how
loud and sharp the sounds were. So disappointed with the X sound lvl/loudness. =(
I'm running crDroid custom ROM and have the same question, but the issue for me is that I think volumes are too loud, even on the lowest level. In my house, there are normally quite peaceful and sometimes I almost wet my pants when the phone rings.
Surely there's a way to modify sound levels through some configuration?
Btw, for the OP, I downloaded my ringtone, notification and alarm from Zedge. Not sure if there are any differences but just wanted to mention.

I went to Zedge and typed in ALDEBARAN no match found. I want my rings/notification loud because many time I'm out
and I can't seem to hear the msg tone when I receive a text. When I had my OPO I could hear it all the time
even when I had my music in the car at a high loudness(disturbing the peace =X).
