which gps software is the best for europe especially austria for a MDA I with about 10MB free RAM?
does no one have any idea which software to use with low ram?
destinator 3 or mobile navigator 5 doesn't run very well.

I have just gotten hold of TomTom 5, and installed it fine on my O2 XDA.
I have also put the UK Map on a 512 MB Card.
Now all I need is a cheap GPS Receiver from eBay - any suggestions?

Hi guys,
I want to buy bluetooth GPS module for O2 XDA Trion. It should have 12ch and TMC function integrated. Want to use it with Tom-Tom, Navigon or I-go software.
Do you have any recommendation ?
Btw. I was considering also to buy maybe car holder which have GPS and TMC integrated, but couldn't find any. Does anybody have any suggestions ?

Destinator 6 has just launched to include TMC (branded TrafficSAM) which bundles with a Royaltech BT GPS and TMC receiver, with full UK, ireland & European mapping.

Has anyone found a reliable software product for GPS navigation in Mexico? I have TomTom on a HP6515 and on my 8525 and there are no maps available for Mexico at all. The only thing I have found is for Garmin, but that is device specific. Anyone had better luck?

Thanks Percz. I have tried the Destinator software and found it to be a bit incomplete outside of Mexico City. So far, the Garmin version is the most complete, but still has gaps in Baja California and other Mexican States. I wish TomTom had coverage, but they only do the US and Canada for North America. The best solution so far is to use Mapquest on my PC and print driving directions...

I'm new and i found a problem with my TYTN (Vodafone 1605)
Many times TOMTOM goes in block and BT antenna don't answer.
Do you think is a ROM version problem or it's a generalized bug?

I'm having a very similar problem, though TomTom connects to and holds the GPS OK, Memory Map will only connect around 1 in 5 times, most of the time I get "GPS: Cannot open com port" or if it manages to talk to the GPS unit, after 5 minutes or so will come up with "GPS:communication timeout"
I have tried flashing a diffrerent (WM6) rom but still the same problem

You will need to purchase an antenna to receive satelite info.
Once you link it with your bluetooth enabled phone, your software will work.
I believe ther a some hermes that have a built in gps but if yours did you wouldn't be asking.

ALL Hermes have the chip, unfortunately they don't have the receiver... As stated, you need a bluetooth receiver and the software to run. Don't bother asking for maps as that is commercial software and must be paid for. There are sites out there that you can find these things for free but not here....
