Connecting to Internet on wallaby - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi,
I have Dial-up internet service with local provider (connecting thru a phone number---56K). Is it possible to use this service from ISP for my wallaby....i have three modems installed currently...
1. Generic Infrared Modem on COM3
2. Generic IrDA modem
3. Hayes Compatible on COM1
Could i set up the modem in my wallaby so that the wallaby will dial the number thru the modem, thus connecting to the internet using the modem...no GPRS service subscribed...
ROM: 3.17.03
RADIO: 20.10
Thanks everyone

Yes, provided your carrier supports CSD. Just put in all the appropriate settings in the Connection settings, then set that group (usually called "My ISP") to be the default internet connection under the Advanced tab of connection setings.

Need T-Mobile ROM for AT&T SX56

I have a working unlocked SX56 currently being used in the US on T-Mobile network. Installed on the phone is the ATT ROM
ROM: A.30.09 ENG
ROM Date: 01/01/04
Radio Version: A.33.02
Protocol: 1.3.3
Currently as said the phone works fine unlocked, except I cannot get an internet connection through GPRS connection. I have tried changing all my settings in manage settings from internet2.voicestream.com to internet3.voicestream.com to wap.voicestream.com. I connect, but cannot download pages. In talking to the engineering tech at T-Mobile they said I need to be using T-Mobile ROM, which they cannot provide. I popped my sim card into another T-Mobile device and I had internet access just to make sure my sim card was ok. I went and downloaded every T-Mobile ROM on this site and two Siemens ROM, yet all the versions are for phone model PW10A.... I have phone model PW10B1. Can anybody get me in the right dirrection to get the correct T-Mobile ROM?
There is no difference in the ROM between PW10A and PW10B models. So you can use all of them....
Stefan

[Q] unable to make/recieve calls as networks not recognised after froyo 1.4.6 upgrade

HELP! My Dell Streak is unable to make or recieve calls or use data after froyo custom Rom 1.4.6 upgrade. I installed froyo 1.4.6 on Dell Streak and the new ROM booted. I am able to connect to market using wifi, browse the web and use youtube. The main problem is the telephone is not working. I noticed that the IMEI number is not identified by froyo in network settings. The networks are not displayed in the wireless and networks tab.
network mode selected is GSM/WCDMA auto
under network operators, search networks shows "error while searching for networks"
In "about phone" tab in settings:
"status" tab shows
my phone number : unknown
network: unknown
signal strength : 0dBm 0 asu
mobile network type: unknown
service state: out of order
Roaming: not roaming
mobile network state: disconnected
IMEI: unknown
IMEI SV unknown
Wi-Fi MAC address : unavailable
Bluetooth address : unavailable
Service tag: G38S6K1
up time : 0:12:02
Please help restore telephone function as it now functions only as a 5 inch wifi tablet.

If i'm not mistaken, you also have to update the baseband. There is a file on the main 1.4.6 thread that explains how to do it.

[Q] International Galaxy S3 isn't able to connect to Etisalat.af 3g data service

Hi. I'm here in Herat (Afghanistan) and I've bought an ETISALAT.af sim card that is supposed to provide also the 3g data connection. I've an International Galaxy S3 with Omega ROM v27 (4.1.1 JB) obviously rooted with Kernel 3.0.31-204919 and XXDLIB. the problem is that the smartphone is able to connect to ETISALAT 3g network (that sent to me also config sms) but it doesn't recognize the data network (no 3g, H or anything else near the signal bars). I've tried to solve changin APN but the result is the same. could you please help me.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.

Thank you for your answer. I have already tried this and I've also reverted to Omega v13 ( Ics based) wich have a different modem.
Hi cp108,
I had the same problem when I install the Omega ROM v27.1(Modem XXDLIB : same modem that your device has) on my Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300. Then I changed the access point name settings and data connection turned on. Have you changed following attributes?
1. Name
2. APN
3. Proxy
4. Port
5. MCC
6. MNC
7. Authentication type
8. APN type
In my case, after I changing above the problem solved.
