I recently updated my Imate PPCPE with the new ROM for WM2003SE (2.06WWE). I was previously running 1.72WWE which is WM2003.
The upgrade seems to have gone well with no issues I can notice so far except that I can not use my favourite input program Decuma OnSpot anymore. When i Install it, it just messes up the whole input functionality and ALL the input methods disappear. i.e. when i click on the little input panel button on the lower right of the screen, nothing happens. Nothing comes up and there is no way to select an input method or do any input.
Even the (default) keyboard doesnt show up anymore when it is supposed to (i.e. when i am on an input field).
Has anyone seen this issue? any idea about what is causing this or how this can be resolved? maybe there's a registry setting somewhere that can help?
got a crack for it ?
I have the same problem running WM2003SE on MDAIII

Hey
I'm hoping someone out there will be able to help me solve this problem or I may be saying goodbye to my Trion sooner than I would like.
So here's the problem:
While I am sleeping my trion keeps LockingUp!
This has happened a few times and each has been quite costly, either I oversleep and am late for important appoitments or I miss a number of very important phone calls.
I have tried using differnt ROMS but the problem persists. It happened to me a couple times while using the new I-mate rom so I switched to the new Dopod ROM and it happened again! I'm going to try the TYTN rom now... ugh!
Info Regarding my current setup:
Dopod ROM: 1.23.707.4
Programs:
MSN Messenger
MSN PPC 2003
TCPMP
Cyberon
Aidem MP3
Fit4cat Hermes v1.0
Fit4cat Settings changed from default:
Enable wireless plugin + show pluggin = ON
Remove Wireless Manager Icon = ON
Mount Ext. ROM = ON
Improve A2DP "High" = ON
- and that's all I've enabled. A weird thing I notice with the wireless pluggin is that at times on the Today screen it will just show my bluetooth status and neglect to show the WIFI status; at times the BT icon is right aligned as if the WIFI was still there but invisible and at other times the BT icon is left aligned indicating the WIFI icon is not even there.
That's about it for now. Any help resolving the main FREEZING/CRASHING issue would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank You!
I have had the same problem. Hard reset and ran software freefor a few days, and same problem. Flashed to imate, and same problem. Flashed back to original HTC, and problem gone. I don't know what it was/is, but I feel your pain. We have almost no software in common, so whatever it is I think the problem is within the ROM itself or common Ext_Rom files. I never ran without Ext_ROM may start there.
this problem I had for about 3 weeks, I am currently using the new dopod rom and I have had no problems at all. It is a software problem issue and as roms develop issues will go I would flash either the new HTC rom or dopod rom as I had no problem with either of them I installed the dopod as it is quicker for me.
the same to me with imate rom, and some time when i press the center/enter button it show the sound volume panel
must go to Tytn rom tonight
I am currently using PDAViet 40005 Cross and am finding that occasionally after a soft reset, and always after Sprite Backup has gone through a backup, that my backlight is off and will not come back on until I find my way, with some difficulty in the dark, to settings/backlight where I find the slider is on 0. I drag it to the right and the backlight comes on. From then on it is fine, until the next backup, or reset, or occasionally the next time I press the power button to switch the device off.
It first happened with the Gullum TNT V4 ROM, and now with PDAViet 40005. I am wondering if it has anything to do with PocketEvolution's ScreenLock because that is a common factor and is an app I install last of all. I have removed this app, but am still getting the backlight problems.
My PDA is a Qtek S200. If I am going to need to revert permanently to WM5, is there a ROM available online?
Any advice welcomed. I have rectangular eyes with the number of ROMs I have installed over the past few days. Note I have always followed instructions, including downgrading to the recommended WM5 ROM in between.
If I could map the brightness slider to a hard button it would be useful - if there is no other solution.

did u install SPB Pocket Plus? if yes the problem is because of it !
the best WM5 ROM is Aserg AKU3.13 search it to find !
No, I have installed PocketMax Phone Alarm, PocketEvolution ScreenLock, Innesoft Cash Organiser, eWallet, SPB Backup and the battery status app that seems to crop up everywhere.
I suppose the answer is to reflash, install each app one at a time to see when the problem occurs.
Thanks for your reply, ebaskar.
I went through the time-consuming procedure of re-flashing, adding an application, checking the backlight, adding another and so on. I still couldn't pinpoint the cause of the problem - all seemed to go well, then suddenly the backlight went off and wouldn't come back on until I found my way to the backlight settings and puller the slider over again.
I decided after flashing with goodness knows how many ROMS that I am going back to WM5. I downloaded and installed Aserg AKU3.13 and after several hours all seems well. It even looks like WM6.
The only problem I have now is one I have always had - the default entry method. I'll post a thread about that in the main Prophet forum.
did you find a solution to this problem?

Well I found out what caused it. I bought a new HTC Touch and was very disappointed to find I had the same problem. It was PocketMax PhoneAlarm. As soon as that app was installed on WM6 I had the backlight problem. Even uninstalling it did not resolve the issue - I had to do a full reset and reinstall everything apart from PhoneAlarm.
It then tried PocketZen, a free alternative to PhoneAlarm. The same thing also happened with this app.
It appears that any utility which messes with backlight settings will cause the problem on WM6 - I have no idea whether it affects all phones, but it certainly affected my Qtek S200 when flashed with several different WM6 ROMS and my HTC Touch with an official out-of-the-box WM6 ROM.
I'm trying to figure out how to solve the problem of typing while I'm on the phone. For example, if I get a call, and need to type out a new appointment, I'll start typing on the built-in keyboard and instead of letters, I'm getting some numbers and symbols instead.
I'm sure this has something to do with the phone app, but it's a real pain to have to peck things out on the screen keyboard.
Does anyone know if there's a way around this?
Thanks
am suffering from the same problem, its not a problem but meant to be like that but am sure there is some kind of a tweak in the registery to fix the behavoir
Dito here, please post if fix is found.
use the onscreen keyboard
but its too much of a hastle, am sure its a registry thingii
Always deny, the same old HTC strategy!
Is a well Known WM6 bug in the HTC devices with keyboard. Well known to everyone, but denied from HTC!!
Same bug is in the Hermes ROM, in the beginning they said they will fix it but in my knowledge they haven't, just starting to DENY the problem!
Same old HTC story: deny, deny, deny, as in the HERMES screen misalignment, Trinity Start Meny problems, black Trinity peeling off.....
I asked about PK 2.0 rom but none answers....
Looks like this is a good lead:

hi everyone, I'm using O2 XDA Atom Pure, and the ROM is AKU 0.3 CHT(0.7CHT stable version hasn't release)
I have a problem, when I use pushmail, after serveral hours the actvieSync would stop and shows "Waiting for network", even though I press the "Sync" button, it still shows "Waiting for network", and mail also cannot be push to my cellphone.I have to soft reset to make activeSync work, but this problem still occurs after a period time.
I've already check my GPRS netwwork settings, it's all fine and setting are all correct, and I did not install any software that will affect ActiveSync,so anyone could help me to solve this problem? otherwise the pushmail function is not useful for me....

I'm using 0.3 CHT fixed By Jiggs, not dcoloane version.
I didn't launch small hand writing pad but in SIP menu, small hand writing pad is in the list, should I disable this hand writing pad?(how?)
I also see there is a dcoloane version which is made by you, but I found you write:"Sunglobe.ttf is used instead of mingliu.ac3, wince.nls is 1.5MB from CE-Star". I don't know if mingliu is instead by sunglobe will made system fonts unclear or not?

no it won't, I subsitide the font because I will receive Simplify Chinese SMS and it seems that sunglobe is a better font for both CHT & CHS.
The FIXED version had problems (unstability) on Active SYNC because of the SIP's not really PORT from the same version of the original ROM. Some SIP's are from AKU2.2 WM5 while some from dll's from other devices. The final one is one package get from WM5 AKU2.2 which should minize the impact on system stability. Although I still did not figure out why the small hand writing pad still causing problems. If you really want to use Push Mail often, i suggest you use back AKU2.2 or the final ROM by me, before flashing the new ROM, just use PCBckBackup your SMS, Contacts, Tasks and Calendar stuff to the SD Card. But if you don't want to flash again, Use only Chanjie as SIP instead of the HandWriting.
Well, although this post is pretty old...
I've always been having that problem. Even after some years I still can't tell the reason.
The solution I've been using since then is to restart ActiveSync on the phone using the task manager (which probably does the same than a complete soft reset, but is a lot faster).
Since I've upgraded my Diamond with a new firmware ActiveSync is displayed in the list of active tasks. Using another task manager I killed the process which still didn't help. In another post here I read that disconnecting your Gprs/3g connection might help. So it did.
Using Google you can find a lot of board posting from users with that problem. Noone has found a real solution and Microsoft doesn't seem to care about it.
What I am curious about is: Does your Exchange server have a dynamic IP?
Mine does. And PushMail is only active during the day. The daily disconnect of my provider is somewhen in the night. So when Active Sync starts again the following morning it's beeing confronted with another server ip. Maybe that's a possible reason?!
Hello,
yesterday I quite successfully installed WM6 on my German SDA II. I used the 1010 ROM form this Thread: WM6 for SPV 550 and it was quite effortless. I had to restart mtty for a couple of times but finally it worked and the phone wasn't bricked. Greatest obstacle during the installation phase was to change the language from Chinese to English.
The phone works well, but since I bought it just yesterday I can't compare the OS to the previous one. To me it seems OK.
Until now I encountered some problems while using the phone:
First there is no Java included in the ROM, so I had to install and modify IBM's J9 (had a minor vribra issue with that).
Secondly, I cannot access voice commands, the phone just doesn't do anything.
And finally, t9 annoys me while writing messages. On my other smartphone, a Wm2003SE device, I can use the *-key to cycle through all input modes. This doesn't work with the 1010 ROM, instead it shows me a list of symbols in between which is annoying when you (at least try to) use correct upper and lower case writing.
Regards,
Dirk
Has anyone a solution for the t9 issue? That's a thing that really bugs me.
Dirk
read read read, it was be many times .....
Don't misunderstand me: I have t9. But on my WM2003 phone I was used to cycle through the options (abc/Abc/ABC/123/t9/T9/T9) by pressing the *-key. This still works for abc and so on but I cannot switch from t9 to T9 because then the same list of Symbols like on the #-key appears, meaning that I have to close the list, hit the key again.
Dirk
just hold "*" for the list ?
I was confused by the list. But now I just realized that I have to hit * once more, the list will go away and everything works as expected.
I also talked to the friend of whom I bought the phone and he tells me that it now works *much* faster; e. g. the camera took a while to start, now it's just a blink of the eye.
cu,
Dirk
