Help please: BT Icon is missing from tray - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Recently I installed pocket breeze and it was causing my b'tooth icon dissapearing from the tray. I need help to show it again.
I read somewhere in this forum that it can be done by unchecking some today items and do the soft reset, but is there any other way to do this? A patch maybe ? Cause I'm tired of doing the soft reset over and over. Help me ... Thanks in advance ...

bypass screen allignment????

hi,
is there any way to bypass screen alignment after hard reset???
Whats the point? After a hard reset the sceen alignment information is lost, to by-pass it would leave you with a very unresponsive screen.
it is broken screen ,and could not align screen in 4 corners,it misses 1 corner and cross sign return back in the center
I also would like to know how to accomplish this on an XDAII.
To rephrase: How can we bypass the screen calibration after a hard reset? There MUST be some way! Perhaps a different ROM version?
Thanks!
Try to insert your XDA2 into cradle and restore any backup you have. After reboot you would no longer need to realign the screen.
I'v tested this on old RoverPC S1 and it worked.
I actually came up with another (better) solution...
After a hard reset, put your XDA or XDA II into the cradle & run activesync. You can either set up a connection, or go as guest.
Use the 'explore' button to browse to the \windows\startup folder on the XDA, and delete the Welcome shortcut. You can then remove the XDA from the cradle, softboot, and bingo, no welcome message, no calibration.
Hope this helps. I'm surprised no one has come up with that before.
I am having the same problem but when I try to remove the welcome.exe it is saying "cannont delete file welcome: access denied". I is probably because the process has already started... any suggestions?
maybe you want to try this... i've tried it, works like a charm...

This worked perfectly on my touch diamond! Thanks everyone. (this is another reason why we should never post questions without a simple google search!)
Finally Got past the aligmernt screen
I removed the welcome file and was able to get in, many thanks for the great support.

bypass calibrations via Bluetooth

i have an old O2 XDA IIs and its touch screen is broken but the lcd works fine, but i have no dock or usb cable, kindda lost those moving around the globe..
but i can get it to pair up with the bluetooth on the welcome screen before it asks for the calibration...yes yes y don i jst buy a new digitizer!!...wot fun would that be!!
Soo, any genius out ther willing to help out?...BTW its running the original ROM
Thanx ahead!

Just create a (empty) file named "welcome.not" on your SD card and do a new Hard Reset (or soft reset, should also work)
Well,
For what it's worth,
I found out on my brother's Qtek S200 that was also in a loop, that it automatically passed the align screen after some 15 times.
Later I found this in the registry:
HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Touch\MaxCallError(=16)
So I assume you can tick the align screen 16 times before it continues?

I tried aligning for 20+ times on my i-mate PDA2k, and I'm still in the aligning loop. The CodeFactory tool worked, and thanks to nonentity for uploading it, because CodeFactory.es is now defunct.
BTW, can you please upload the .doc? Not sure it says anything super important, but it might be interesting.

XDA no screen anymore

Hellloooooo all, I hope somebody can help me. I LOVE MY XDA, but not at this moment. I was making a sms and than suddenly my screen was gone!!
I cannot work on it anymore. What shall I do? I do not prefer a hard reset, since I don't have a back up yet.

well... now is the time to BACKUP!
Sync to your pc, and back up thru your pc, there is an option in active sync. right ontop of "install apps" i think.
do that.. and then u are free to try anything, including hard reset.
does it show the LOGO atleast?
if so, maybe its a new program u installed... like that Landscape thingie.
good luck.

[Q] delete messages

Hi Guys
Im just get a samsung galaxy s2 this week and am having a small problem.
Ive looked around for answers but cant find any. Ive just remembered how helpful this site was a when I had my HD2 so thought id ask here.
The problem im having is deleting messages. In the messaging app you can press and hold on a thread then a box comes up asking if you want to delete. I hit yes and all the messages go but it leaves behind the empt thread to that contact. Ive tried deleting through thr menu, hand sent and clearing the data and catch from manage apps menu but noth seems do get rif of the empty threads. Any one had this problem too?
no problems here i hit the delete thread and it deletes
Just done a factory reset and the threads have gone. sent some new messages to test it and right back to the begining again. New threads wont delete. Only the messages inside the threads delete and the contact is left in the message app. Please any help would be great. Im tempted to take it back to the shop and get a new one.
maybe some thing in settings i carnt even replicate ur problem
Well I took it back to the shop and they gave me a new phone which worked fine. It wasnt untill I used backup pro to re load my apps and data that I noticed it was happening again. Must be somthing to do with this. After another factory reset and not using backup pro everything seems to be working fine.

[Q] Blue Battery Icon & Toggles Help

For some reason a little blue battery icon with a number for the charge percent in the middle randomly popped up in the top left corner of my notification bar. Also toggles for wifi, bluetooth, gps, sync, and brightness appeared under "Ongoing". These two things happened at the same time and I don't know how and would like to get rid of them. If this is the right place to be asking can someone help me or direct me to the ride thread were I can ask?
some more screen grabs...
I tried working with Samsung live support but they were no help. Here are some more screen grabs that I thought may help diagnose the problem. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help!

Thank you for your reply, I tried uninstalling all my recent apps and it doesn't seem to be working. I always check the ratings and reviews on apps before I download them and try to download only reputable apps so I'm not sure how this could be the problem. The screenshot of my apps shows all the apps I downloaded the day the problem arose.
Remove any tools and battery apps installed .
Remove all not downloaded from the market .
Fails to clear then backup data and factory reset to revert to out of the box state .

Seems to have worked. I uninstalled widgetsoid and that seems to have gotten rid of it. It must have somehow activated a new feature I wasn't aware of seeing as I downloaded it when I first got my phone but realized I didn't need it so I never really even used it. I kind of feel like an idiot now, thanks everyone for the help especially JJEgan for being specific about tools and battery apps. Glad to have joined this forum I think it's the best of its kind.
