Magical appearing Contact in contact list - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I'm having a problem getting rid of a contact in my contact list. I purchased the phone a few months ago and I am running on rogers wireless service but I keep getting a contact from AT&T showing up! It is pissing me off.
Contact is AT&T Wireless Customer Care with phone number etc.
I don't use AT&T so I want it the heck out of my contact list. I have deleted it from the PPC and from my contact list on outlook many, many times and it just shows up again. Is there any way to delete this contact?? TIA!!

Double contact shows up even when deleted? Help please.

Something very weird is happening on my contact list.
No, I do not have ANY number on my SIM.
No, I do not have any number in my T-Mobile contact list.
I have a friend of mine whose name is DG.
So I wanna send a new text, I open the Message application, tap on the bar to select the contact, write the initials of the name, DG, and usually you should get a list of people who are named so... what happens here is that when I type this specific contact, I see it TWICE.
DG 1702... Mobile
DG +1702... Mobile
Why?
Checked GMail, there is only one entry.
Checked my Contact list, only one entry.
Went to GMail, DELETED the contact, synced the contacts, and it does not show in my Contacts list BUT! This is just weird now... when I try to send a new message, type the name... it shows up DG +1702... Mobile
What the hell?
I thought it could be Skype, or WhatsApp, but I checked the same thing with other contacts who also have Skype and WhatsApp and this does not occur... Anyone?
Thanks
PS: I have checked the other two threads but none give a solution.
One of them may be showing up because of call history and sent history.
This one you CAN turn off in:
messages>settings>general> show sent message history and show call history
One of them showing up may be Tmobile Contact Back Up.
This one you CAN'T turn off.
Option? Root and remove.
Once TCBU sync's it won't let you remove it.
P.S. I replied to your PM already, as well.
Hope this helps bro.

Yeah I saw the reply and replied. Thanks.
The thing is, I don't have any contacts on TMo back up...
And why does it do it to only one contact so far?
Just deleted all my contacts from GMail, and also from my phone, deleted WhatsApp and skype... And when I go type a new text, the number DG is still there...
Guess what... I removed the microSD card... problem solved... No more duplicate!
I wonder why now...

Galaxy S3 contact thread management

After reading a zillion great reviews about the S3, I bought one but quickly discovered that it does not have one place that unites all contact instances.
In case you're not sure what I mean, this is usually on a contact's screen, a place where you can see all the contact between you and them - messages, calls, emails. The idea is that you can see a full list of what's been said in a thread form.
I know that the S3 has a Contact History but this only shows SMS messages and emails from the Samsung email app and not the gmail app. It doesn't show any calls at all.
My Lumia, much like most HTC phones show all contact in thread form and I was wondering if there was any way of getting the S3 to do this or perhaps an app that does this.
It's really hard to look in 3 different apps to work out what was said and when!
Hope this makes sense..

[Q] import contact question

Hi folks,
just got the n5 after having the gnex since its release. I have a question regarding the imported contact.
in hangout, when i'm sending a sms, and I type in a name, eg: Scott, it show me all the Scott I have ever emailed. I only have one Scott in my actual contact. The other "scott" contacts are random joe blow recruiters whom I never contacted again. But somehow Google, in all their wisdom, think I care about them and display them in my list.
Is there a way to prevent this? I only want my phone to display ONLY those that are actually in my contacts not random people that email me
Thanks!

I think you should go through this:
Open contacts -> click on menu -> Contacts to display.
From here you can prevent the others contacts.

Is it not possible to edit Exchance contacts with the G5 Phone app?

Hi all,
I just jumped ship away from Samsung as I was fed up that no phone had a spare battery any more apart from the LG flagship, so I went ahead and bought it yesterday.
I love most things on it, but have discovered something that is shocking me.
I don't appear to be able to create contacts in my Exchange account!! This is almost a dealbreaker!
So here is what I did: I merely added the Exchange account to the phone (as I would have done with Samsung). All fine here. I got the contacts to sync to the phone. But when I create a NEW contact (or edit an existing Exchange one, for that matter) I have no option to select the Exchange account. I can only see "SIM", "PHONE" or "Google" as options. With Samsung I would have had the additional option of "Exchange Activesync".
Attempting to edit a contact who was synced with Exchange brings the error message "Not Editable from this application" - Is that serious? If this were my work phone, I would expect to be able to ADD contacts to an Exchange account!!
Does anyone know of any workaround? Are there other Phone / Contact apps that can replace the stock ones? I am very disappointed in LG right now! Does it even mean I might have to even go ahead and root the phone?? I've always shied away from doing that...
Samsung had a dealbreaker with their batteries and now LG with their phone apps???!!! Pfffff!
Any help at all would be appreciated!
Phil
Seems I can reply to my own question. So here is the answer if anyone else ever gets stuck.
Don't use the account called "Exchange" which looks like the Gmail red and white logo. Instead use the one named "Microsoft Exchange" (blue and white logo). This WILL be allowed to be used when creating contacts. Excellent. No need to throw away my LG quite yet. Phew.

Only one number from each contact showing

I just bought s9+ and this my first ever Samsung phone. been using stock android ever since. in stock phone asked which number i want to dial. google account setup and synced. no sync errors.
I have several contacts with 2 or 3 numbers saved under one name. problem is contact list one shows one number only. is there a way to get the rest? I'm stuck without a way to contact people because some people use their personal number after working hours etc...
Please help me. thank you
What version of the phone do you have, and where are you seeing only one number? My Sprint 9+ shows all numbers I have for a contact when I view it in the Contacts app.
