Hi all,
i'm wondering if anyone is using some kind of scanner/radar utilities to display the wifi coverage area, signal graphics and many more...
I'm with my powerful qtek2020 with sin 2.0 rom, using an SDIO Wifi from Pretec...
(sd wifi only work with pretec software, no way to work without...)
I tried Wififofum, Pocket warrior, Mini stumbler and many more without success)
thanks for all in advance

Hello every one ,
Right so now that my SX 56 has been fixed and upgraded to WM 2003,i've got one question:
Is it compatible with those wireless wifi SD cards?
or is the model to old?
many thanx geniouses !!
No, you need an SDIO slot which these handsets don't have. Sorry.
Check this out then, i don't understand, according to this site it is compatible! http://www.pdassistant.net/Siemens/SX56.htm
"Siemens SX56 GPS capable PDA"
judging from this too then most likely they got it a bit wrong
dutr it's gps capable but only if you get an wired external
gps dongle which well does everything gpsWise and send info
over the serial port
in which case many many things are GPS capable
my old 486 pc in the attic too it have a comport too
ok so if i got it right , the update from WM2002 to WM2003 FINAL was useless if i can't use the network card option in the connections menu.
i 'm just trying to find a way to connect to the wireless internet!!
with wallaby the only have to connect it using usb to a pc which have wifi
and access it's wifi using activesync

The wallaby has no WiFi hardware. Nor can you use an SDIO WiFi card, the hardware simply does not support SDIO devices. You can use GPRS, the datacable or infrared (wouldn't recommend this since you'd have to maintain constant line of site).
So how do i do this with GPRS then cause i can 't seem to get internet explorer
recognise any WAP or WEB pages , even thought i 've got the right settings,
many thanks
I'm flattered, but I have a girlfriend. I'm just here to use LE WYYYFYYYY

Anyways, I have MoDaCo 3.2 Beta 5, and my wifi will not work! It didn't work in 3.1 either.
What can I do to fix this? Is it a common problem for Heros?
I just want my WiFi! Tired of always using EDGE at home!
Thanks~!

Silly me, I forgot to mention I am not a dumbass!
Still having wifi problems. It works on the wifi at my moms house, so perhaps its a router issue? I use WPA2 on both of them.

Since you now mention it works elsewhere, yes it is a router issue!
Some devices (and the Hero especially) don't play nicely with certain routers. You can try making a few changes to the settings (channel, encryption etc) as this may help.

Dave
try turning on broadcast SSID on your router. I always have that problem when my ssid is hidden.
Hi guys !
In advance, sorry for my bad english
I have an HTC HD2, with Dutty's Creme de la Creme V8 ROM (Fra), and i encounter a special issue:
I use my HD2 daily with TomTom Navigator (7.918), for many hours a day...
Recencently, i've used the WIFI sharing fuction (known as "WIFI Router" in Comm Manager) in background of TomTom, to get Internet on my laptop (ok i know, it's bad when driving), and after 30 or 40 minutes, the GPS don't seems to work anymore.
TomTom shows grey map, and it receives no more satellite.
The WIFI sharing function still works (Internet is still OK on laptop) but no more navigation...
When i stop wifi sharing, GPS doesn't works immediatly, but if i wait a couple of minutes, it works again...
This problem don't seems to appear when using only TomTom, no Internet sharing.
Do you think the device is overloading or overheating ?
The back of the HD2 is hot, but not "burning"...
Any idea ?
Hi, Dexter and all other fans,
I have installed a WIFI AP application on my 3G phone and I 'm trying to use Folio100 to connect to Internet through that. But I always can not find the WIFI hot-spot on the list. And then I checked Dexter's blog and found this problem has already been fixed in November. I have installed the latest ROM(1.3d) for my Folio and I have no idea why it still doesn't work. Anyone can give any comments?
Thanks in advance
BR

Hi,
the reason must be your phone or the app on the phone. My Folio with FolioMod 1.3d is connecting WLAN very well to the "Android AP", provided from my Dell Streak (Froyo). Even with WPA2-PSK. No Problems at all.
Is the SSID (Broadcast) from your phone-hotspot visible?
regards
The wifi suplicant checker is active? (inside Folio widget menu).

Hi,
Thanks for your info, it was strange that it was not visible from Folio100 but it was visible from my laptop... That 's why I though it is the problem of Folio100.
Any other tricks when setting up WIFI AP from phone? BTW my phone is Nokia N900. The software is called 'Mobile Hotspot'.

it has been reported many times before. it has to do with the encryption of the wifi. avoid wep if u can, and place on either wpa /wpa2 encryption.
Hi All,
I running the stock wm6.5 HD2 rom from t-mobile.
I have just bought a Arnova 10 G2 (cheap from hmv) and would like to use my phone wi-fi hotspot to get online. The problem I have is, the tablet does not recognise WEP encryption.
Can someone tell me the easiest way I can get online using my phone?
I have done several searches and a few people discuss similar issues and talk about writing and adding code. I do not know how to do this as I'm a middle aged fat bloke with no understanding of such things.
I have read a lot about flashing the phone to make it android, would this help or is there a simpler way?
Thanks in advance
CJ
Problem is not your WM6.5 HD2.
Problem is Android has ****e standard connectivity & does not have ad-hoc support as standard.
You will have to find an ad-hoc fix for the Tablet.
WM6.5 conectivity for tethering in both directions is faultless & can be achieved via wifi/BT/USB

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure how to find a ad-hoc fix for the tablet. I've looked for wi-fi apps to find one that will recognise WEP w-fi.
there are a few out there but they find the phone but do not allow connection. as when you try to connect it takes you back to the tablet software.
thanks again for your help.
i have the same problem ... HD2 WM.6.5 and ARCHOS 70 INTERNET
do you found a solution??

The only way I've found is to replace the wpa supplicant file, and it will require root access. I can't seem to attach files from my View. I got the file in the Dell Streak forum - search for wpa_supplicant. The one I have is for gb.
Sent from my HTC View in LALA land.
EDIT: OK, back on my PC, and here is the thread with the file:

Hello, I've got the same tablet and tethering works with my htchd2. Wifi routing does not work, I was not able to create a PAN network with my HTC HD2, and was not able to see a DUN network on my tablet. (or is it the other way round ?)
But tethering, using my 3G connection works. I sometimes need to reboot the tablet.
