Hi,
I only forward an information from IVT. I asked them if they try to make BT solution for our XDA II.
I tryed MS, Widcomm and many combinations on my XDA II. But every time i got problems, unstability or something of Synchronization, Modem, Headset, Handsfree, GPS didn't work.
I have BlueSoleil BT with my MSI BThub and I thing it's very good. Maybe best I tryed (M$, Widcomm).
So, there are the answer from IVT>
......I am the project manager of BlueSoleil CE's product. I am so glad that you want IVT provide a good Bluetooth solution on it. Actually we want to have a solution on T-mobile MDA II Pocket PC Phone if we can get help from HTC people's supporting!
We will contact with HTC's people to see if we can have a solution on it! I am really not sure that we can get any help from HTC!....

Maybe a hope for us. Maybe some petition or some(many) E-mails to HTC support can help. What do you think?

Man, another bluff-man... never mind about him...
Have you tried O2Ger version? I saw some data about bluetooth fixes, did they put some efforts on HandsFree profiling? any idea? info?
BTW, i'm writing a lil prog for WM03 that will emulate hands-free music playing at your headset, don't u wanna be a beta tester for that? if you have bt head of course! Mine is HBH65 and now it can play only midi files and some low-sampled wavs and can not cojointly work with radio stack on (( so i need beta testers to do some research on headsets specifications and behavior, maybe your will work ok.
BR [CR+LF]
HTC, I will take part in that beta test if you need more testers.

yep count me in as well m8
Zetex
Sorry to sound smug - didn't mean to cause a stir. I can share but only on a 56kb connection so a bit difficult. The full pack will be 25mb. See the O2 reply I got a few mins ago.
The expected size of the download is 25 Mb.
There is also a .pdf instruction file that can be downloaded, this should be approx 120kb
"The ROM download combines both the ROM and Radio updates in one (unlike the previous updates for the original XDA where they were separate).
These should be fully self extracting/installing, but for further info, the .pdf should be checked before running the installation.
Kind regards
O2 Data Support Team"
I have JABRA 250 and XDA BT200 headset if I can help?
RobinHood,
How did you get the file.... O2 did'nt send it to you on an email did they????
that must have taken hours for a 25mb file on a 56k connection..

I am going to be getting my XDA II in a coupld of days (Australia) I'm guessing it will not have the latest firmware/software on it, is the UK, German and Australian versions different in any way? I am new to the PDA marked (First one, still have not played with one yet, but looking forward to it).
Please post some photos of your new ROM for us to see. Thank you.
XDAII AND Plantronics Bluetooth-Headset M3000
I have XDAII AND Plantronics Bluetooth-Headset M3000, if you need a beta tester....
So, which version is this upgrade? is it the 1.60 or is it newer?
RobinHood >
you cannot not to share it! :?
On the front page, there was a comment that the GER new ROM features:
- New O2 Active User Interface
Anyone know what this will look like ? What new features it has ?
TIA
can't wait till Friday
O2 UK Update will be posted on their website tomorrow. The Installation and feature instructions are attached.
the "new" gui in german has only minor but nice updates.
The only noticeable change is under My XDA, which changed.
Most obviouse you will have a field "my programs" where you can apply your own programs, I think very useful so you don't need the stylus anymore to start for example the navigator while driving.

QTEK 2020
Will this update work on the QTEK 2020. I sure do hope so!
Handsfree not icluded
Hey every1
I've downloade the pdf file read trough it and I've notice in the software changes under bluetooth, the handsfree profile is still missing.
I thought that this upgrade was going to resolve this problem??
Any comment from anyone.
Regards
Gigi
It says in the pdf file that handsfree profile and spp is supported and improved, where are you reading that it isnt?
Is it possible?
The new XDA IIs has WM2003SE in the ROM image, so would it be possible to steal it from there and add it to a home cooked XDA II rom?
Is there a ROM Kitchen available for the XDA II, or is it only available for the XDA I?
Thanks in advance for your help.
1. still Not Possible at the moment !

1. It will never be possible to steal the complete ROM, since the hardware is different and unlike PC-operating systems, PocketPC ROMS don't have drivers for multitude of hardware. Hardware independant pieces of software could be chipped out and ported to another, like SRS.
2.
I've used WM2003SE on my XDA2 & it works fine. In fact seemed to be rather more stable than the one it replaces.
It was a NFR version & I've since gone back to 1.72.181 'cos I want Blackberry
Then you must be one of the lucky few who got their hands on a XDAII WM2003SE Rom.
If NFR means NotForSale, that is why we never saw it.
But if you could share, plz
What I meant was that a WM2003 ROM of an XDAIIs can not be used on a XDAII.
I'm pretty sure I could make you a WM2003SE with blackberry support.

Do you still have any of this ROM???? If so please post it here asap as it means a lot of effort can be saved in trying to rip it.

pfft zif he'll share
IF is exists WHY hasnt anyone uploaded a WM2003SE ROM for Himalaya???
This means we get (amongst others) Landscape, plus the Possibilities of using the new Intellidialer
I would very much like to try it!!!
Puff: PLZ upload the rom package. We wont tell anyone! And we wont resell it. promise!
i'm sure someone would volunteer to get the file and upload it somewhere...
Should be nice to trie ... MR Puff or other nice guy could share your rom ...

Is a law problem ? NDA ?

I think like edsub.
we will keep a secret and never talk to anyone about it.
People,
You are placing him in very akward position. He is probably under NDA of some kind. Those "releases" usualy very easy to track down to a particular person
Wait until some kind of "group" will release it.
Puff we are all waiting your cooperation
please if you still have the SE ROM.
Was better don't know that there is this kind of ROM ... now we know ...

Just a thought
Let's assume that this Himalaya SE ROM exists.
All major providers would easily have access to it.
The only reason for not releasing that, and ask people involved to sign NDAs, is to push sales of the newer hardware.
Which is an acceptable policy, from the viewpoint of a single company.
But when the good old competition works as it should, there is always one of the player breaking these situations.
If this does not happen, it is easy to guess that there is an agreement between the providers for not releasing the upgrade.
Now, that is against the law.
Just a thought, in case anyone involved in antitrust commissions would be reading this forum ...
FYI...

Dear,
Follow my link to original developers of WM2003SE here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14373

Man, I am so insecure of which rom to use after all the zillion editions that surface each day, that I am afraid of using a buggy one. Better wait for a stable confirmed image, I guess.
Why not combine your own?
I use 2.06WWE (mysteryman) as found in the other posts, kept it as is, only exchanging the radio stack to 1.18 (picked up from 2.02)
I find it pretty stable, only has some trouble getting avantgo to work properly...
Problem of combining is that i don't have time to get that much into it, i'm afraid. My normal working hours are so hard that i hardly have time to sleep, so I'd like to get a working edition that is just plug'n'play as it's so nicely put by M$
Can you post your setupfile ?
If you dont have enough time, dont upgrade. Sounds like your to busy to worry about things like phones. Use 2 cups and some string instead. ROM upgrade your carrier pigeon, they are also more reliable.
I'd recommend you wait until a proper upgrade comes out from your phone provider.
The upgrades (especically SIN v3.5) do work well and don't take a whole load of time to install, but you can have problems.
I guess the questions should be, is there a Rom Kitchen
version of WM2003SE?
The Kitchens are the best way to cook up a custom rom with or without your desired ingredients.
Also, is there an XDA I version of WM2003SE?
I just upgraded and it work like dream! I also got the widcomm 1.4.x to work perfectly with my superduper version which was bundled with my norwegian BT dongle. No problem with that "license" message either. Anyone need that package, let me know and I can post it.
Also, syncing with Async using BT works superb too.
NB! My stringphone is already upgraded ;-)
widcomm issue
Hi!
How did ou get past the "license" message? Could you post it?

Er, people. When you say that Widcomm software is installed and working for you, can you also post what type of Bluetooth dongle/USB adapter you are using?
I think the license issue arises from the fact that Widcomm forced each BT dongle/USB adapter vendor to hardcode the device ID into a btsec.dll file issued with the Widcomm BT installation files.
If you have the software from someone, and you are using the same type of BT dongle/USB adapter as that guy, then you are in luck, coz the license is the same.
I had 2 dongles, one a generic CSR device and another Belkin one. Both comes with their version of Widcomm software, and the software wouldn't cross-interact with both devices because of the license issue.
What a DIM comm idea!
Forgive me if this subject has been covered, I've not been able to find much on this and I'm fairly new to all this having just aquired a Hermes recently.
One of the things I did hope to do with this (amongst many other things of course) is to use this device as a remote control. I have a number of devices that would become unusable if their remotes were to die and so creating a dbase of all those obscure remotes has been worthwhile using my ipaq to date.
Currently I've tested a couple of pieces of software which work but it appears that the infra red signal is pretty weak, particularly when comparing it to my iPaq 2210 running Nevo. It's far too weak to really be of that much use.
Anyway before I give up on this path I thought I'd try to find out if anyone else has found this to be as weak as I have and more to the point, would a radio or ROM upgrade help or is this down to the hardware that HTC used for the irDA?
It is in general that most PDA's have a 'weak' IrDA submitter. HP is really an exception. I also missed this powerful Irda when I switched one day ... !
A ROM upgrade won't change this.
You might be better off by buying a UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL for your devices. Even your HERMES might be happy and last a bit longer.

Ok thanks for the information. I was kind of expecting this to be the case. I might have to hang on to the HP, it works a treat. It's a shame though.
I'll concentrate on finding out about the rest of the stuff I need to resolve like the gps problems as Tomtom is one of the priorities.

Those devices are the devils work I tell you!.
hi all
i just bought an htc hero and i cant pair, send and or receive any files. Is there something wrong with my unit?
Firstly, Android does not currently support many Bluetooth profiles. Essentially you are ok with handsfree devices and stereo headsets, but broadly speaking that is it - file transfer is not currently supported.
Secondly, if you searched before you posted you would have seen that this has been asked many, many times! Search is your friend!

Dave
