Hello everyone. I have a problem with MSN on my XDA: it doesn't connect. It says that the service is not avaiable at the moment. I'm using XDA-Dev latest rom.
I know the msn service *is* working because if i try with my Pocket PC ViewSonic V35 it works...
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Daniel
Try installing the MSN Messenger Updates for Pocket PCs
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/msnmessenger/pocketpc.mspx
HTH
Already done but..
Already Installed. But I still get "service temporarily unavaiable". Any suggestions?
uninstall/reinstall the update
Already tried 10 times. No results...
My friend had that problem, reset the XDA (ie push the stylus in the hole, not hard reset) first, then install the update, reset again, then try signing in.
can anyone help me with please i was trying to upgrade to wm2005 but could not get the nk.nbf files then i noticed my xda said usb v1.01 when i took it out of the charger it said serial v1.01 i have tried hard reseting and sorft reseting, i have even let the battery completely die but still it just say's serial on the screen or usb when put in the charger
For starters, you need to do lots of reading. There is no wm 2005 for the xdaIIi.
Download the original ROM from the 02 website for xdaIIi
You will be fine after this
i was under the impression that windows mobile 5.0 (magneto) was for the xda IIi
http://www.my-xda.com/downloads/Xda_IIi_LaunchROM_v1.10.124.exe
I didn't complete the procedure, but it seemed possible to install WM5 on my XDA 2i. It was put in bootlooder mode, I run the install program without modifying anything and the ROM appeared to be ok. So I assumed it would work, but like I said, I didn't complete the procedure on this phone as I didn't wanted to reinstall my software, plus some of the popular software like Pocket Informant 2005 or Agenda Fusion 7 would not install on it. I found that out earlier, when I sucessfully installed WM5 on a friends XDA 2 - not the i model
i have downloaded xda_IIi_launchRom_v1.10.124 but how do i install it i can't get my xda to connect to my laptop via activesync 4
You have to put the XDA into bootloader mode, then cradle it in start the upgrade.
Cheers
Pat
Okay i was following the instructions here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16916
on my vmware workstation running under Linux
I opened up the himaupgrade.exe put in the apporiate files and then sync my device and click upgrade... shortly after i notice that the usb icon in vmware wasnt active and then my pocket pc went blank
after a while the upgrade reported that it failed, active sync said it had no connected devices and my pocket pc when put infront of light had USB writng on the top and v1.06 writtin on the bottom
now it said in the install to soft restet it plug it back into the cradle and continue the installation. so i soft reset it.. it did nothing -_- so then i hard resetted it and it the writing on the screen starts to fade then it comes back.. so out of desperations i removed the battery and it seams that its still going hard on the backup battery with the same text
now i got nothing.. my pocket pc wont start up at all and thus theres no way to conintue the update to make it work
so im asking you smart xda people out there.. how on earth do i make it work again, do i have to send it into imate to get it repaired!! im lost and have no idea this is my first time doing a new rom on this webpage
PLEASE
*gets on knees and begs*
tama(?),
you are stuck in bootloader mode. The device should still be detected when you put it in the cradle. Once that has happened you can either run the Himaupgrade once more and try it once more or install the original ROM through the executable (on CD?) you should have got from your vendor.
whoa im pretty please with that time it tock for a reply ^_^
anyways iv connected the device to my vmware windows 2000 pro and active sync detects it is there and sits on "connecting"
so far due to it being on connection the updates on this site arent working, im going to try the one on the cd now
okay everythings been working fine now for a while ill just some people advice out there..
you cannot upgrade your rom using a virtal machine in Vmware running on Linux
i had to use another computer running windows and it worked first time..
thanks a lot
Also worked for me!!
Restore back to 1.66
Ladies and gentlemen out there... please help.
I foolishly tried to upgrade my O2 Xda II and now I reset more often. Everytime I reset it says "IIs" on the bottom. Plus the buttons seem configured for the IIs. Further, the unit no longer is recognized by my desktop. I have spoken to the local distributor and local repair center here in Manila and both have said that restoring the unit back to 1.66 is possible BUT it similarly might cause the unit to "die" (be a dead unit). A result that is simply unacceptalbe, given I use my unit heavily for work. Please help.
If you are based in Manila, I would greatly appreciate an SMS response to the question below. Kindly SMS the following mobile numbers; +63920.928.3385 and/ or +63917.855.7599, with my "+63920" number being the primary number to send to.
So, is it possible to restore a unit from a 2.0-something back to 1.66 without the unit dying on me? If yes, how do I do this?
Cheers! Thanks!
Sounds like USB port is broken.
Hi all,
I've read a couple of threads for several days now, but none of the answers worked for me.
Problem is: I can connect from my HD2 to my desktop PC (win 7) initially, but when I try to install a new ROM (3.14.407_2), my HD2 restarts, shows the four colour screen and nothing more happens. After some minutes, my PC tells me that my phone isn't connected anymore.
It worked two months ago for the last ROM flash, but now nothing helps.
Tried:
- rebooting PPC and PC several times
- deleting partnership and setting up a new one
- disabling "faster connect" for usb to PC settings - afterwards, PC doesn't recognize any connection at all
- hard reset on PPC
I have no idea what to try next.. I wanted to install HSPL2 and flash the ROM from my SD card, but can't install HSPL2 ... same problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Infyrana
I also tried several USB ports on my PC
You think the HD2 USB port is broken? But I was able to transfer data when connected as normal device without active sync.
Do I have any chance to check, whether you are right, without having to send my phone to HTC?
maybe running the update in compatibility mode will help?
I thought the microsoft mobile device center (or however it is called) was made for win7, as the actual activeSync tool cannot be used?
So I can't see a benefit from this, but anyway.. I will try.
You could try using BlueTooth with ActiveSync, thats what I do. I have a "micro" bluetooth adaptor for my laptop and it all works fine... just a bit slower.

the compatibility mode for the ROM update file could help becasuse it is a separate application (no guarantee though as I have no way to check it on my PC)
compatibility mode didn't help.
don't have a bluetooth stick ...
no further suggestions?
Just found out, that windows tries to install driver "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" when I connect my HD2 after starting bootloader.
But it just searches and doesn't find anything. I searched by myself, but didn't find the driver anywhere ...
if you are really determined to update ROM, find the thread on ROM 3.14 here on xda forum, I recall seeing guidelines on installing ROM from SD Card
of course it will not solve your sync problem, but still...
Yah ... I wanted to install HSPL2 to be able to do install the ROM from the SD card (at least that's what I understood - that I need that first), but I can't install it, as I already wrote.
I GOT IT!!!
Finally.. in a forum somewhere in a forgotten corner of the internet.. someone gave an advice to uninstall the windows mobile device center and reinstall it.
After uninstalling, I had some trouble to find it again, but finally got it.
And guess what: it works now.
Windows managed to install the quadcomm driver and I could update my ROM.
Never had such a hard challenge with my HD2.
Thanks everyone who tried to help!
May be one of the experts of XDA-developers can solve this strange problem.
I bought a HTC 7 Mozart with T-Mobile branding in Germany, used it with another SIM card. I have a Windows 7 (32 bit) computer where Zune is installed. The connection with Zune was workding fine.
Then I flashed my phone with the 'Official HTC Europe 1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50 ROM'. The phone is working fine, but it does not get recognized by the Windows device manager & Zune. So I carried out the following steps:
- formatted & reinstalled Windows 7
- installed Zune
- carried out ALL Updates in Windows & Zune till date
- flashed Mozart again, carried out hard reset
I guess, there's nothing more that one can do to start afresh. But still my computer & zune continue to refuse to recognize my HTC 7 Mozart (see attached screenshots).
This is what is displayed on my mobile right now:
Name: HTC 7 Mozart T8698
OS version: 7.0.7389.0
Firmware version: 2250.09.13001.401
Does anyone have the slightest clue, what went wrong? Is the ROM corrupted? Is some important element missing in the ROM? Is it possible to get a seperate driver file for Mozart (Zune.inf has proved useless so far)?
Thanks in advance
P.S.: In the meantime I tried the following:
- I flashed the phone again with an older ROM (RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.26.401.03_5.51.09.06_22.3 0.50_RELEASE). But the computer still cannot recognize Mozart.
- I also tried to use the WPSupportTool both under the old & the new ROM. Mozart WAS RECOGNIZED(!) in the USB connection mode in both the cases. The driver was loaded. Even Zune recognized it and popped up. The entry 'PD67199' could be seen in the Device manager. The tool itself could not do its updating job in both cases. Even after a restart the phone remained unrecognized in both cases.
update zune?
Thanks for your reply.
Well, as I have already mentioned I have already updated Zune. Zune & Windows are up to date. I forgot to mention that I had switched off the firewall as well just in case it was blocking the connection.
Is the windows mobile device update installed in installed programs?
Sent from my CorvusVegaRom_0.5 using Tapatalk
Still no progress
As my windows mobile device (Mozart) was not recognized at all, there is obviously no update installed in installed programs as well. In case you mean the Windows Mobile Device Center it seems to be up to date (Version 6.1.6965).
As I mentioned in my post, I tried to use the Windows Phone Support Tool as well. I have now attached the screenshots. As you can see while looking for the driver the computer recognizes the device to be 'Windows Mobile' and after recognizing it is listed as 'PD67100'. The Tool itself failed to update anything. Zune kind of recognized the phone but as the phone was not in a normal mode.
I still hope that someone out there is competent enough to identify the problem based on my detailed report and all the screenshots.
Still having an issue with this?
You definetely do not need the Windows Mobile Device Center.
Can you give it a shot after you uninstalled your wifi modems drivers?
Still no progress
Thanks for all the suggestions, but my situation is so hopeless that not even Microsoft or other 'experts' could help.
- I tried everything all over again with a brand new HTC data cable
- I tried uninstalling the wifi driver
But nothing works. I wish someone could just send me the 'top secret' driver file of Mozart. 'Zune.inf' has not helped so far. Or does someone have a 'magic' Zune.inf file? ;-)
Sorry i gave up 32-bit windows back in 2004 .
Can you go back to the original carriers ROM and give it another go?
solution ALMOST found
Well, after weeks of research & trial with different ROMs I think I have narrowed down the possibilities.
The problem seems to be the Zune/Windows LIVE account. Once you have used a device with Zune, it remains listed with both Zune & Windows LIVE account (check: setting > account > computers & devices as well as in devices.live.com).
Now one can add/delete upto 5 NEW devices every 30 days to the Zune account. In my case I already had 'HTC Mozart T8698' listed in Zune. If I had renamed the device BEFORE flashing the problem probably could have been avoided. After the update/flashing it is not being recognized at all probably because the name remains the same. But according to my Zune I can use a 'NEW' telephone on 25.05.2011. (See screenshot)
Now I have clicked the REMOVE button several times, but the device is not yet removed from the list. So I am not sure whether this means it will be removed only on 23.05.2011. In case I manage to remove it I will try out the connection on that date.
Does anybody have any idea on how to remove my device now? Or any other tricks to solve the problem?

Hi,
I suppose that you flashed European ROM with cable way, no?
Regards, ansar
Europe ROM
Dear Ansar,
It's wonderful to finally hear from YOU. Now I feel a solution can be found.
Yes, I did flash the European version provided by you (OS version 7.0.7389.0, Firmware: 2250.09.13001.401). Earlier I had the T-Mobile-Germany original ROM and had no problem connecting to computer & Zune.
In the meantime I tried out many other ROMs also provided by you but the device is not getting recognized by either Windows or Zune. My Zune account (setting) is showing my device from the earlier usage (HTC 7 Mozart T8698) so I guess that might be causing some conflict - as the device name remains same even after flashing.
I hope you can come up with some tricks to solve the problem. Thanks again for personally looking into the matter.

Hi,
If it was not recognized by windows then no new ROM flash will be performed
Can you try to connect to any available usb hub in your pc and see if zune can see it?

Hi Ansar,
Thanks for the quick reply. Well, I also tried out all the USB ports (Laptop: 3, Desktop: 6). Now I just tried out an external USB hub after seeing your message. But unfortunately that did not work as well.
I didn't quite understand what you mean by ...then no new ROM flash will be performed. Should I stop trying out any other ROM?
Regards
Hans

Hi,
Your phone is recognized by windows drivers and you can flash ROMs using ROMUpdateUtility (not goldcard)
I thing you should flash again one of TMO_DE 1.23.111.01 or 1.25.111.02 or 1.28.111.03 ROMs
If so let me know the results before trying anything else
Regards, ansar
Hi Ansar,
Thanks again for your efforts. Just now I flashed TMO-DE 1.28.111.03 ROM, unistalled & reinstalled Zune (ran TuneUp utilities to clean registry in between). I logged in to Windows LIVE both in Zune & Phone.
Unfortunately the results are the same - i.e. the phone is still not recognized by the computer & Zune. Could you please send me the links to the other 2 ROM versions so that I can try out these as well?
Thanks & regards
Hans

Hi,
Since the pro is there after flashing the ROM, no other ROM can fix it
You should check with another phone of a friend of yours in your PC or check your phone in your friend PC
I think that the pro is probably in your PC operating system drivers with minor possibility to the phone hardware
Some times hard reset of the phone before flashing and then battery replacement can be of good help
Also be sure that immediately after a flash you remove usb cable, connect again and listen for the characteristic sound of connection
If this is ok then installed drivers are the problem
Regards, ansar
