Clean Registry Hive - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Just to ask - what will happen if I choose Clean Registry Hive during hard reset in wm2k5?
Cheers.

Set the Register back to default i think. So serial's from other ROM will be erased.

How do I uninstall SPB GPRS Monitor?

Cooked my own ROM and got an expired trial version with it. Remove Programs in Settings does not list it.
Is there a way I can unistall it, or at lease stop it from running? Like a registry setting?
Thanks,
Paul...
do a hard reset
The only way to fully uninstall GPRS monitor file is to do a hard reset.
aao588 , I don't think hard-reset will help, seems like he has 'cooked' the GPRS monitor into the rom. After hard-reset the program will be still in the rom, unless he flash it with another rom.
e1design, I don't use this software, not sure about it, you can try look into the \Winodws\Start up folder, delete the .lnk or exe file that start this program.
First remove it from the Today items
Then go to \Windows\Startup and delete the file called GPRS Notify
Finally soft reset

You're right - it worked. Thanks!

PHM Reset

I had up my XDA II and everything I learned from this forum are able to help me to solve all the outstanding issue except for the PHM reset icon on the bottom RHS of the Screen.
How do I remove this icon as I m afriad to accidentially trigger and all my data is gone.
Anyone can help, pls advise
No need to be affraid. PHM reset warns you before doing soft reset. It is there because Traylaunch has put it there. Go to contol panel and delete the entry from Tray launcher. You can also Uninstal PHM reset from control panel remve progams menu.
By the way soft resetting does not delete your data if you have saved it properly.
anyone knows how to soft-reset without warning using phm reset?
Ask again...
Is there any parameter with "PHM Reset" to use ist, without the warning message?
THX!

You need to do the clear storage. Goto Start > settings > System > Clear Storage.
Back up anything important first though and it should work
alternatively simply perform a hard reset.

[Q]Back up email settings?

I always flash the latest ROM version, and I use Microsoft MyPhone, which works great except it does not back up email account settings. So every time I flash a updated version of the ROM, I have to setup all my email accounts again. Anyone know a way to backup the email account settings, so I do not have to do this.
I use makisu,(free registration required) which is a slimmed down version of sashimi.
Input all your email account setup details into it (and wifi settings if you want) it generates an xml file, which when you next hard reset, you install makisu(i have it in my autoinstal folder), and use it to 'provision' (install) the settings from the file.

I use Sashimi for this, and also to re-install all my custom cabs after a ROM flash. Also, Sashimi can restore registry settings (e.g. configuration values of programs) and simply copy files (e.g. settings files, certificates ...). It is a little cumbersome to understand the concept, but I found that very helpful.

Question Basic lay-out after factory reset

Hi all,
I was trying to configure the camera settings on my android unit. I couldn't find any settings for the camera when I entered factory settings (passwd 8888). So I tried to do factory reset. Now I have some issue:
1. After the factory reset, my lay out changed a bit. I will attach some pictures. I would like to go back to the previous lay out.
2. The factory code was 8888, but I couldnt change a lot of settings there. Maybe there is an other code that brings you in an other tab where you can change more?
Thanks a lot
