I currently have a myTouch 3G Slide with a broken LCD. It looks like the LCD and digitizer are both broken. I found 8000 places to get a new digitizer. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement LCD? Thanks!

My wife's slide had a crack in the screen. I did not try to fix it myself. I sent it to HTC. They will call me with a quote. The phone rep said a screen replacement should cost $120. After they take a look at the phone, they will call me with the estimate. I hope it is only $120 to fix. If I don't want them to fix the phone, I was told I would have to pay them $35 for the triage fee of having them mail the broken phone back to me.
The phone number for HTC warranty repair is 1-888-356-2375.
If you call them, have the serial number ready. It's under the battery.
I'm guessing you guys don't have insurance? If you do that seems to be the way to go.

The insurance would be around $6/month and have a $130 deductible last time I checked. If the screen can be replaced by HTC for $120, then that would be better than the insurance claim. However, the insurance also covers accidental breakage/loss/theft. In a case of destruction, loss, or theft the insurance would have been well worth it.
Anyway, check the deductible on the policy.
HTC warranty repair called me today with the quote to fix the screen of my wife's slide.
It is $70 to replace the touch panel (just the screen). This is probably the most minor repair that could be done when a screen is cracked. They said there would be no additional charge to mail it back to me.
So, if you just have a cracked screen and neeed them to "replace touch panel" it could be around$70.

go to this site they have it all but the lcd is 100usd ans the glass is only 40usd
so if htc wants like they told me was 125usd it might be cheaper that way

I dropped my HTC Legend yesterday onto concrete, and now my screen is cracked. I've looked online to see if I could buy the part myself, and try and fix it myself as a local cell repair shop says it will cost 180$ to fix, for that price I'll just buy a brand new Legend and cut my losses with this one. Looking around online though, I'm unsure as to what I need to buy? I've found an LCD screen, or a digitizer... My touchscreen and all those functions work 100% all thats wrong is the glass is spiderwebbed pretty good. I'm thinking that I need the digitizer not the LCD screen? Or is there just a part thats just the glass? I'd post a picture of the phone, but I can't due to site restrictions.
hello, when i got my asus transformer prime, there was a bend above the power connector which made it a little more difficult to plug in the power cable, i didn't see it as a big issue until yesterday that i went to plug in the power cable and the bent part shifted upwards and cracked my screen. its a small crack on the edge but very noticeable and it breaks off into 4-5 long cracks that stretch across the screen. i called asus and they told me to RMA it. they said they were going to take a look at it and determine whether or not my warranty is going to cover it but i doubt they will and if they offer to repair it i know it will be a ridiculous amount of money. as an alternative im trying to find a replacement screen (the LCD is not damaged just the glass front panel) but i have not found anything. I found this site asusparts.eu but i dont know which part is which and i dont know the model number of the part i need. does anybody know the part number of the screen? or any other place i can buy a replacement front panel glass? (not lcd) much thanks.
I'm in need now of a replacement kit for the cracked screen. So far I've understood that I need to buy a kit like this in order to replace the bad screen.

Anyone knows if the screens that are sold on ebay are the real AMOLED screens or just some pirate crappy LCD screens?

If you get that one youll have to change over all the bits that are stuck to the old housing.
As for eBay,Id look for someone thats sold lots of them with 100% feedback and use Paypal....

I'm in the same boat, but because of water damage. The right side of my screen doesn't respond to touch. Soon as I sell my car I can replace the screen.
I will likely be getting mine from a local retailer though. Will cost a few more bucks but I'm paying for the certainty of getting the right component the first time.
And the requirement of reassembling the phone isn't a problem for me

My phone has fallen today from my hand, and ever since the touch screen is unresponsive. It fell on the back, no visible damage to the screen. until then I had no problems with it so I doubt this is a digitizer problem. The phone had a hard case (always falling apart when I drop it) and a screen protector. All of my hard keys are working, but the soft ones (at the bottom of the screen) are not.
When I press "power", the menu seems to be stuck on the sound/silent options,with no ability to go to recovery, for example.
I tried removing the screen protector and playing with the battery but nothing is changing.
I am studying abroad now so I have no extra money to buy a new phone or any knowledge of a proper place to check my phone. A lab I contacted offered me a new touch screen for 200 pounds and wouldn't offer anything else.
I am lost, please help me.
I got an atrix to dropped on living room carpet done the same thing it created a dead spot in digitizer there is one ribbon connection to the touch screen digitizer so if part of ur screen works it's still most likely connected to the ribbon new screen is 40 bucks or so Google atrix4g digitizer tear down replace. touchscreen they sell the part to.on youtube here USA 100 us they fix it I fixed mine if u want I can find the link to it..
