Hey All,
I have that dreaded paint-peel going on with my Wallaby O2 XDA. I was thinking about repainting the unit in black or something cool like that.
Does anyone know a good way to remove the reaming paint and what paint to re-spray the unit with and keep it looking good ?
Thanks
Sonny
i forgot already the link...try to google it...start with "case mod"...something like that.
final tips: finished it with clear coat!

hi
the only site i have seen at the moment is http://www.siansmobiles.co.uk/catalog/index.php they seem to have a lot of stuff i dont know if they have a screen but good luck.
regards kevin
check this site www.pdaparts.com...they have a lot of pda parts available
Back in the days when I was still using P800, Vaja made a very nice case for it, expensive yes, but it was the best looking and extremely tough. They didn't make one for P900 and now that I'm using IIs and Mini, they don't make them either I was wondering if enough of us want it, they might do a custom order for us. I'm looking for their iPod or K700 type of design, anyone with me?

Vaja Case -- Appeal to their customer Service
I think the good folks over at Vaja need to know we really want their case for the HTC Blue Angel, PDA2k, VX6600, MDA-III, or whatever similar configuration you have.
Here's my appeal:
To Whom It May Concern:
Can you tell me if you'll be making one of your fine cases for the MDA-III also known as Verizon's VX6600, HTC Blue Angel, I-mate, and PDA2K?
All of these devices are essentially the same, plus or minus the camera, and I know I speak for many users when I say that we'd love to see your quality come to this device! The readers over at forum.xda-developers.com will be anxiously awaiting your response!
Thank you!

Hi all,
Anyone know if such as case is available for the Hermes? The link below is for the Nokia 6280
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/in-UK-Nokia-6...79QQihZ011QQcategoryZ3312QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I want a case that fits nicely around the device. The silicon cases seem to look a bit ugly. Did have one for my JAM and that was great but looking at the pictures for the Hermes one, it doesn't look too good.
Thanks.
Hi folks, look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.de/DUAL-SIM-SIMKART...0QQihZ008QQcategoryZ24045QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The Description says that u use a sim card reader to read your sim out and then copy more then one on an other blank one.
Anyone can confirm this?

Hi
I have an T-Mobile MDA III (German, I think the same model Buzz has/had) with a cracked LCD display.
From what I can pick up on these boards I need the following LCD replacement:
Sony ACX502BMV-7 - however, the board I have received from a supplier on eBay is the following: Sony ACX502BMU-7518J11D, 60H00015-01, designed for a Dopod 700.
Before I open the packaging, can anyone tell me if this part is suitable for my MDA III.
Its been broken for some time now and I want to get it going again now that I am feeling better and ready for WM5.
Reply most appreciated.
Kindest regards
Janeway
I think so: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/3173.html
Hi LGSilva, unfortunately not that simple, there is more than one lcd screen for the BA, I just need to know if the LCD model quoted will work with my unit.
The Dopod 700 is certainly one of the many HTC clones, but some of the units have slightly different specs etc including different LCD displays/boards etc.
See this link: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Partnumbers
If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.
Kindest regards
Janeway
If the second part number "60H00015-01" on your new screen is the same on the WIKI then probably it isn't it.
60H00015-01 Sony ACX502BMU ipaq 4355 3.5" LCD 240x320
60H00018-00 Sony ACX502BMV HTC Blueangel 3.5" LCD 240x320
Thanks for your thoughts LGSilva - kinda thought the same but was hoping maybe someone had tried and succeeded
Ah well, it'll have to go back at least I didn't open the package.
Kindest regards
Janeway
Is it possible to send a document or link with instructions how to replace the touch screen on a Qtek 9090,it's the same model.
i have bought a screen on ebay, but don't know where to begin.
Thanks in advance,
Jos
Hi Jos - hope you have the right screen for your Qtek 9090
Here's a link, complete with some pics: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=DIS_BA_PICS
Best of luck, just be careful not to break anything, some of the parts are quite easy to break from what I've heard.
Janeway
Thanks 1.000.000 times already
In fact it's a SPV M2000 phone, but they are all from the same factory i've heard.
Hopefully i have ordered the right screen,it's not arrived yet,it's from Ebay:

Hey Jos, glad to hear it all went well.
My pda's in bits at the moment awaiting a new LCD and screen.
Weather not so good here, though it's dry with a little sun at the moment. Long may it continue.
Kindest regards, Janeway
Okay i've been trying to track down where to get the front facing camera to install for my 8525. I actually saw an auction on youtube but i couldnt find a case so i didnt order (big mistake since now i found a case and am stuck with a hole) anyways back to the topic

I was wondering the same thing, I cant find the front camera anywhere
Good News and Bad News
Good news
is i found the OLD (Nov 2nd) auction that had the front camera for our 8525s and others that lack front camera
Bad news
The auction has been over for a while
lets hope they have some in stock. If anyone is interested let me know and i'll order as many as i can, surprisingly enough they are very very cheap.
Happy new years.
Maybe a dumb question... How do you know for sure that this is the correct camera and is it a simple plug in? Is the socket already in place in the phone?

not a dumb question at all, the links i posted above are not the correct camera. i am trying to contact the company that sells those to see if they have for our hermes.
on to the 2nd question: the socket is already in place on the phone, all you have to do is plug in the camera to the connector and you are good to go.
Outstanding! Now I just need to get the nerve to open up my new 8525.
I saw this thread and thought this might help a little bit:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1152710&page=4&pp=15&highlight=8525+front+camera
Thread on HoFo (actually a tutorial) for changing the housing, but the last few pages focus on the camera. This guy bought a broken TyTn and took the camera out of it, there are also some pictures to give you a better idea of what to look for.
I have one. I took it out cause it was pointless I have tmobile US and they dont support it anyway. So anyone interested can IM me im usually on MSN. My SN is in my profile.

interested in that camera and the location of a plce I can get the housing from too
I just ordered a black HTC branded housing (at least that's what appears in the pictures) from China_Store on Ebay. It's been a few days and I still haven't received any confirmation from them, though.
You can find theirs and a couple other's by searching for "8525 housing" and setting the price range from $25 - 100. Here's a direct link.
Good luck!
Mine has a front cam, but I've never used it... How pointless
I bought the Front Camera for my 8525 and I bought The Case for it as well. Took me 1 2 3 with the Tutuorial From HoFo and a Few other sites. I was disappointed when I found out the China Store Wasn't selling them anymore. I have another 8525 I want the front camera for. It's super Cheap And a good Mod. I use it once in a while for pix and I tested it out for video and it works...But rare....Not totally useless I Live in NYC....
anyone find out where they sell them ... Put me down for 1
Front Camera Mania

It may help to know the following:
The front camera is manufactured by the Liteon Corporation of Taiwan:
http://www.liteon.com/page.aspx?id=4cdd6857-1b68-4eec-82c2-3d612c9b866f
It may be worth checking with them to see if they supply direct through their on-line Service Contact page:
http://www.liteon.com/Services.aspx?id=34a8d337-1424-4c7a-b219-80a96f109207
The Front Camera Module is:
Liteon Part No: 05P019
HTC Part No: 54H00157-00P (HTC list no alternatives for this component)
Mike
I'd definitely like one too.
I've contacted LiteOn Semiconductor...
about the front camera's....if I come up with something, I will post it here.
In the meantime, does anyone know where I can pick up a housing on the cheap ( other than ebay ) ? I'd prefer the HTC one, so I can get the keypad to replace as well ( it's got the video call button ), but it's not a hard requirement.
Anyone with the info can just PM me, and for everyone's POM, I'll update this thread in a few days, regardless of whether I hear from them or not.
How's you account for the hole for the camera ?

Did you BORE out a hole or did you replace the front bezel completely ?
Inquiring minds would like to know.
I'm curious as to what program you can use to access the front camera? Video calling (I'm aware of) or multipurpose? Thanks!
Are these cameras no longer available? I hate to buy a HTC housing and have nothing to put in there... I would have to close the hole up with a plastic piece to make it at least look like there is something there rather than just a hole for dust to get in.
