Finally there is a decent DSP carkit released by Carcomm (www.carcomm.nl) . I already have it here it only has to be build in in my car. It also comes with a mutebox that uses the left car stereo speaker to hear the sounds of callers and Tomtom. The partnumber CHFS-16. When it is build in i will make some pics.
Hi all:
--
I was wondering which BT Stereo Headset [not headphones meaning I can make calls etc] you guys are using with your HTC Wizard or any A2DP device for that matter.
--
My criteria:
1) can be used well with my dopod 838
2) fits well [this is subjective]
3) doesn't move around when I turn my head
4) good battery performance
5) price is not much of an issue
--
I am looking at the following Headsets:
1) Motorola HT820
2) iPhono PLUS BT420Rx
3) iPhono mini BT450Rx
4) iTech S35
5) iTech R35
--
I put the iTech's at 4 and 5 because even if they are BT headsets they still have wires danggling about in other words they are psuedo-wireless .
--
So what are your thoughts about these headsets? Any other headsets I should be looking at? Personal experiences, Links to reviews and/or online shops are welcome. Thanks in advance
a teeny little bump, as i'm looking for one now. (lost the original wired headset)
still no replies... anyway just went around a famous mall here in manila and they don't have any stereo bt headsets! damn!

Was in a mall last night and was told by an okley sunglasses salesperson that they will have a sunglasses/stereo BT headset for music phones soon. Be about $225us I was also told if and when they do come out.

probably a variant of the RAZR wire also from Moto/Oakley [which was an MP3 + shades solution] the problem is I have glasses [thick ones at that... I dunno if the ones you are talking about will have prescription lenses
Wow thats a bit too expensive for something i'll probably loose or break...
After reading the reviews around a bit i finally decided to go with these:

guy s quick quesiton, .....do other version have the ad2 profile, ...infortunelty i dont think my 8125 has that....at least without using a dongle the size of my phone. Any firmware enhancements to get that profile ????lol
I installed the latest rom (2.8?) and it should have that a2dp in it.
I should be receiving my iphones today so i will let you know if it works.
so the 8125 is compatable with the ad2 profile def let me knw that would be great damn these devices are great
Finally! just received the i-phono 450rx
It works! And might I say, quite beautifully too.
Very decent sound quality (playing music now) I'm test-wearing it now and it's still pretty comfortable after 2 hours use.
There is a very slight hiss, only audible when no sound is playing.
The phone-headset function is not fantastic but people can understand me and i understand them. So what more do i want?
Bought it for playing music anyway.
I'm not really sure what a 8125 is, but if it's a "HTC wizard-device" it should work with the latest rom.
edit:
I just saw this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42569
its about a2dp and your 8125, you might get it to work without a rom ugrade
thanks man
How will I know when the A2DP update is availailable other than this site? Where are the updates usually found? I really am anxiously awaiting being able to purchase a good set of bt headphones for my 8125.

Can you advise whether the iPhono 450rx support voice dialling please?
TIA

Finally got my own stereo bt headsets. Got myself an iTech Blueband [it looks the same as the Sonorix and ANYCOM headsets] it works with the Qtek Test ROM although sometimes the music cuts in and out. Also it is not as comfortable [for my ears atleast]
Alternately I use a bluespoon ax2, and a jabra bt250v. love them both.

I have the 450rx and according to the manual there is no way to actually initiate the voice dialing from the headset itself. I havent got the manual with me atm but from memory it said something like: For voice dialing, you must initiate the voice dial function from the handset and then you can talk into the microphone to tell the phone / pda who to call etc.
So, technically it is sort of possible, but i would prefer not to have to press the voice dial button on the K-JAM as it sort of defeats the purpose of using the voice dial function. Even though i have only just got the 450rx (and can't use it as i-mate still hasn't released A2DP) i am already on the lookout for a stereo headset that has PROPER voice dial.
Cheers,
Chris
Well my wired headset decided to stop working today! Not really interested in buying a bluetooth headset so can any body recommend a good audio quality wired headset with a mic so i can still make calls?
Unbelievable! I came here to post almost exactly the same message. I too am looking for wired headset (with mic) recommendations. Anyone?
guys im after finding out the wiring n connections inside the mic/button/volume unit. Are you electronicly minded and would take em apart and do a diagram for me. if not where are you and would you be up for sending them to me. I can then post this info on here.
Ive come to the conclusion that bluetooth cant do what i need to need to work with wired units.

I like the wired one that came with my phone. I'll look for a link but I picked up one last time I was in Taipei...

If you have a TMobile store or Cingular Store around they might just give you a wired headset from the display box...I think that most people "throw" them away and go for the BT headsets.
Just another random thought.

After much research and experimentation, I finally found and acquired the Shure i2c-T, which is promoted for the Treo 650 but works perfectly with my 8125 - very well-made, thick cable, monster dual-speaker in-the-ear speakers - VoiceCommand works fine with this - I am very pleased with this set. I found it for under $100 by shopoing around online.
Hi!
Is there a headset-Adapter with Micro-Support available (2x 3,5mm Connectors, one for speaker, one for micro) available? I do not want do solder.
Another question:
I have an old Siemens Bluetooth-Headset. Its working fine with the integrated Phone-Application but not with Skype, SJPhone, MediaPlayer,...
Any solution available?
Regards,
Johannes

I dont understand your question. The hermes comes with a wired headset. Besides, the headset connector is not a standard jack. so you have to solder anyway.
Ok, one more try.
i am not happy with the original headset. I have a great sennheiser Headset (for the pc with 2x 3,5mm jack) and i want to use this headset with my TyTN.
There are adapters on the market with one 3,5mm connector (for speakers) so maybe there is also an adapter with 2x connectors available to use also the micro.

johannes
I got a mini USB to mini headset adaptor for my wife's RAZR and it works well on the RAZR. I haven't tried it on my Cingular 8525 yet, but I'm guessing it will work fine. I got it off of eBay for a few bucks.
The headset that comes with the unit is actually pretty nice. It has the wires to deal with, but it has decent quality and nobody has complained about my voice being underwater or sounding like a speakerphone when I talk on it.
I also use the default headset to listen to MP3's using Windows Media Player (stored on the 1GB micro SD card). The music comes through fine in stereo, and when the phone rings, WMP auto-pauses and the headset starts working in phone mode, taking the mono signal and splitting it to both ears. And when I hang up from the phone call, my song resumes right where it was paused without me having to hit PLAY.

Good idea, Music Man!
I found it for just $7 with free shipping - http://www.emtcompany.com/products/adapters/cnyv3to3-motorola-razr-v3-to-35mm-headphone-adaptor.htm
Just ordered, don't know if will work with the Hermes (my 8525) but I figure why wouldn't it...
It will not work because the Hermes and Trinity use a strange hybrid connector with extra pins for the headset.
Look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280439
Yeah, I actually tried the RAZR adapter at the local Cingular store on my TyTN. And it does NOT work.

If it doesn't work, like others claim, I will buy it from you for the price you paid for it. My wife needs another adaptor for her razr phone. Send me a PM or email.

Martin fields apparently says theirs is compatible with the Dopod 838 Pro (HTC Hermes).
Might wanna give it a shot.

Can anyone confirm on the Martin Fields adapter?

Hi, I have bought it last week and confirm it is working great!
Great stuff. Thanks for the confirmation.
The Martin Field (http://www.doml.com.sg/productdec.as..._dash&pid=2698) sure looks to me like an adapter for stereo headphones (no microphone) with 3.5 mm jack. The following looks like a an adapter for a mono headset (microphone and single earphone) with a 2.5 mm jack:
http://igonemobile.com/products/html/61315310.html
I haven't tried it, but am considering.
Thought of Bluetooth headphones?
On top of having a Jabra bluetooth for use in the car and other places, I just purchased two Jabra BT620 Bluetooth Stereo Headsets from Amazon (only $37 a piece) for my wife and I. These are rechargeable and stereo via bluetooth! The cool part is that they also have a built-in microphone so if I get a phone call and I accept the call (either via a headset button on the headset or via the phone, the music automatically stops and the phone can be answered. It's kind of weird to hear a phone call in stereo, but both the speakers and mic works great!
Of course, all the controls for listening to music are there ... play & pause, fast forward/backward ... volume ... answer call ... etc.
We even purchased a small bluetooth adapter so she can use her headset with her iPOD too (I use my phone as my all purpose device, including a MP3 player).
Anyways, these are fantastic for the price. Sure, the Motorola version of these are sweet, but at over twice the price, I'd expect it to be that way!
I hope this helps!
Okay, I'm not trying to reinvent the will. I'm curious thought, what are some good compatible bluetooth headsets for HTC TC? What are the bad ones? ....using Murato Radio and Original Rom!!!! Or any other radio/Rom combo!
I have seen a post on headsets/stereo music/phone thread. But not one with a specific list of compatible headsets.
I'm asking because I'm trying to figure out if my brand new (one week old) device have a bad bluetooth problem or do I need another headset. Currently using Plantronics Voyager 510, and I cant go 3 feet without it getting choppy and static, sound quality is f**k*d up!!!!
So I will post first: Plantronics Voyager 510 ....NOPE!!
Just be sure and purchase from a place that allows returns if you're not happy with them. Find some you like on your own.

Jabra JX10 Series II: Works well
I love my Jabra BT620S
well i have a Plantronics Voyager 510 and have been using it first with Artemis and now with Polaris and i have to say its THE BEST heatset i have ever used (and there have been many!)
good up to 15m and sound perfect.... you have something wrong either with the headset you have or your Polaris
I'm currently using Philips SHB9000. At first signt, it pairs but no headset icons on the top bar (which means all the sound goes through the speakerphone).
Using BTAudio, sound gets redirected to the headset (still no headset icon) but quality is awful, using HomeScreen PlusPlus UI A2DP option the icon appears and sound is incredibly good.
I was using Murata radio/udK R8 when I bought it one week ago. Changing radio or ROM did not change anything so either it is OS or headset related.
Regarding your choppy sound, try this method (especially for Plantronics Voyager 510) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2533699&postcount=13, this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2533699&postcount=14 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1317007&postcount=18

Thanks for the resource everyone. I appreciate the response and the help.
I purchased the Plantronics Discovery 655, and guess what? The exact same thing is happening. I still get choppy reception at times.
though I have noticed it is slightly better then the previous headset. And people who I'm tallking to say that I sound alot more clearer.
My conclusion, now, my phone has a bad radio. Either the bluetooth hardware is jacked...or my radio is horrible.
What do you guys think?
BTW i purchased it from a website and I didnt get any warranty on it.
So I called HTC and complained about my bluetooth connection. The lady (valerie) told me that as long as it works, they are not interested in the quality of the connection. After complaining a little more, I ended with the conclusion that I have to test alot of headsets until I find the right one. So to add to this thread:
Good connection will be defined as, "clear crispy hearing on both ends, no static and choppy sounds, and the ability to walk away at most 6 feet (maybe 3 meters) from the phone and still maintain sound quality connection with the phone: Good connection".
So those who have post already with their headset, can you repost to determine if you have "Good connection". My only purpose for this is to purchase this time the "right" headset instead of numerous returns to the store to find the perfect one.
Jabra JX10 series II
Jabra BT6210S
Phillip SHB9000
Do all of these fit the Good Connection definition?
Thanks for all who have post. I truly appreciate your help. You are helping me save money and time!!!!
Yes, JX10 series II: Good connection (FYI, not sure about the series I, as there are some firmware changes that happened.)
I think I can say that Phillip SHB9000 has out-of-the-box a fairly good connection (did not test the 3 meters test yet and had natively choppy sound before the registry modification) with my TC.
After the reg modification it has a good connection (still did not checked the 3 meters connection but I never get disconnected), but it can't be compared to the 2 Jabras at it is really dedicated to listening to music (covers almost all your ears). It is the first time I'm buying that type of headset and it is really a different world than usual headsets (intra auricular or in-ear). The sound is clear and all details are present.
The only drawback compared to the other is obviously the size...
BTW, disconnection problem with Jabra headsets could be solved by HTC official Bluetooth fixes (as one has been especially made for them) and BT disconnection is also relying to the ROM version.

Jabra BT8040
I use the Jabra BT8040. It has as major advantage that it not only supports the handsfree profile, but also wireless 'stereo' (A2DP), so I'm able to listen to music on the headset too.
thanks muyz
after applying the patches from HTC's website, my Jabra BT500 works pretty good. the issues before were addressed and it works fine now as a hands free in the car headset.
i have tested it while walking and talking and something strange i've never encountered: crackling noise. it's as if i was on a wired set with bad wires. as soon as i stop moving, the connection is back to normal. strange. this is why i said it's great for in car connection since the phone and your head will stay relatively static.
looking for a new headset myself actually.
Hi,
I'm using the Jabra BT3030 which also support A2DP for my music listening. After I applied the bluetooth fix from the htc website it's working flawlessly, with no loss of connection as it did before the patch. Very happy with it.
what does the Jabra BT3030 look like? Is it jus the dog tag thing...or is it also wired or wireless plugins? Can you take a quick pic and upload?
Thanks
I tried looking online and I only see the tag piece...is that it?
i'm using Jabra BT620s - work's perfect
i had just some break's in stereo while running in traffic (maybe caused by other BT devices from cars?) - so I changed A2DP setting in SKTools and now it's perfect
strongly recomend
slightly off topic, but what are the registry hacks people keep mentioning
I have 8 cruises for my company's engineers and all of them are moaning about the carkit connections. We have applied the hot fixes and they are still generally rubbish
a selection of the carkits ;
nokia ck 7w
motorola HF 850
focus c-max bluetooth in car
Auidi bluetooth in car
various jabra headsets
motorola HS 800
Keeps cutting out. poor/ tinny sounding, mine (Moto hf 850) makes outgoing calls ok (sometimes) but takes about 15 seconds to hear voice of othter caller on incoming
???????????
Cheers

Anyone ? this phone is pants, great pda tho
…and for the HBH-DS980 ?
I have a Jabra X10 Serie II, but I want a HBH-DS980.
Is there someone who know if it works with Polaris ?
I mean, every function of the headset [playlist, list contacts, etc…].
Thanks for your feedback.
It doesn't work fully with anything, its pants !
and even when it does work fully ... it stops working when it feels like it !
bloody irrational. must be female
