45% Battery Remaining - Device turn off.... - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Dear developers,
I have a strange problem. My XDAII goes device off while 45% battery still available. This happens since I upgraded to WM2003SE and now on WM5 - 1.50f by Buzz. Could anyone tell me what happens? Before this on original O2 ROM, it stays upto 5%. Thanks in advance.

battery drain was one problem i faced another one last night ,i had put my prophet on charger with unticking the turn off on external power option i left it on 94% and after 40 minnutes i returned to check battery ,to my surprise it was 86% (reverse) this was pdaviet 4.000.5b cross rom ,then i flashed it with wm5 nvid rom ,it was then normal charging started, btw backlight was off all the time i left it only the screen was left on

I've notice something like that too. But it was in a beta-test I flashed a lot then, and with the next WM6 flas it disappeared. Never knew what caused it, but it isn't consistent with all the WM6 ROMS.
may be the wm6 roms are being ripped of from systems having bigger charge capacity batteries unlike 1200mah of prophet and may be then the rom itself needs some hex editing based on that battery which htc touch uses

Prophet runs out of power when battery is at 17%

Hi,
since I flashed Crystal V4 onto my VPA compact s, the phone reports out of battery power when all battery indicators actually show around 15% to 17% battery left. It shuts down and can't be restarted without plugging in the charger first. Is this a common known issue? Could it be caused by overclocking (to 260 Mhz). Can this somehow be fixed?
Apart from that: superb ROM.
Michael
same problem with Aserg WM5 rom when battery indicators show around 15% to 17% battery left, it shuts down
try not to overclock your prophet, see if it helps....
how much time does it take to come down from 100 % to 15% ,24 hours or 48 hours or more ?
when push mail is activate 24/48 hours, if not activate more 72/96 hours
Surprisingly yesterday my Qtek S200 with Mysterious 1.0 did the same thing, with only 20% left, it keep rebooting like if the battery was low...
I actually have had the same issue happen twice and I lost everything sinceI did a hard reset. The first time I thought it was maybe the battery since it only turned on while being charged. I got a new battery and it worked for a while but last Friday it happened again and lost everything again. Not sure how low was the battery but I am beginning to suspect that maybe the internal battery is messed up. Can anyone tell me if that is the case. I also stopped overclocking but it happened a second time.
Sorry for that but as a note Prophet doesn't have internal battery as it stores its user's data on a ROM not RAM. Internal battery was in Win 2003SE and previous. By the way, I've the same problem with WM5 NoID version.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought there was some kind of internal battery that ran the memory such as the clock and this is why they tell you to remove the battery for more than 15minutes to reset the device.

Battery Drainage

Hello,
I seem to have come accross a weird problem on wm6 for the hurricane.
after a few weeks of usage i get a huge drain on my battery.
for example: when i go to sleep u put it on my nightstand with 88% of battery and a few hours later when i wake up it is down to 2% and it is switched off. Charging goed pretty well but i then again it starts draining.
When i do a hard reset the problem is gone and it comes back in a few weeks.
This happens with any WM6 rom from the forum. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this? i'm using the only correct SPL for all i know. Maybe there is a new one or somethinng? Perhaps that can also improve my reception?
I have the same problem with 5X6WM6_1010_yahei_pp8_by_Sky

battery drain after upgrading to WM6

did anyone have this problem with Gene after upgrading to mUn's WM6?
battery seems to long 50 percent or even less comparing to original WM5 rom. reminds me of a problem with my s200 after upgrading to a coocked WM5 rom couple of years ago.
charged it fully at 2300 did not touch at all and at 0700 indicator showed 73 percent.
dont want to go back to damn WM5 still hope that after several charges the battery gets calibrated.

waterdeep, I've been using WM6 from the very first day it came out and i didn't noticed any significant battery drainage! a full charge still lasts 3 days with 1-2 hours of calls a day & major usage of outlook.
Alright, its not the rom upgrade.
Charged my gene to 100%, put it aside for 14 hours, checked it and it's still on 100%.
I an having the same problem, I have a battery meter tester installed on the phone when it had WM5 and WM6.. the consumption rate is up by 120%..
Guess this will require a bigger battery pack..
Battery drains to 50% then stays there.
After my old battery's liftime was over I bought a new one, put it into my HTC Wizard, then switched the device on.
Everything worked fine, the battery was 'preloaded' to 50% - I thought - because that's the value the battery indicator was showing.
After charging to 100% I plugged the Wizard off and I could almost watch the battery draining back to 50%.
BUT: Because the battery lifetime from 50-10% is that long (aprx. 2d standby and 4h gprs/bluetooth/display > ON), I don't think it's a battery hardware problem.
On the battery was written: 'Charge to 100% - then put into device' but because I don't have an external charger, so I didn't follow this suggestion.
Could it be a problem with some kind of calibration (maybe the device reminds the 100% voltage at some point?)
Sometimes this trick helps:
Switched-off device charging until LED light's green. Then plug off and boot. Then plug back into the cradle and charge it up to 100%.
But as I said - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Any ideas welcome to get rid of this bug
wow you woke up a thread after 1 & half years! Congrats.
@Addicted: Now thats what i call a BUMP!
seems to work hum? - at least you're feeding it not with the information I'd like to but at least I stick to topic

No, no problems at all... The new WM6.5 works even faster and more efficiently (even in battery usage aspects) than the old WM5.1 (originally installed in my HTC Gene100)
I suppose you have to check all the settings and also follow some tips (posted somewhere around) about enhancing your battery performance. These describe actions like "drain your battery fully", "remove from the device for 5 mins", "charge it completely" "repeat this process every 2 or 3 months" and so on.
Or even check your ROM version. With all the "cooking" some might be unefficient. Change it for some better ROM.
Greetings
Oh, I've found you some of these tips: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5087294
Funny, u r resonding to some feb 2008 post that too for issues related 4 upgrading to wm6.
u can try battery callibration....

Problem with my Atom Life

Hope all the experts here can help.
Recently i've updated my Atom Life to WM6.5 by chriscsh. It was very nice and lasted a whole day.
Before i sleep, I charge my phone and left it there. The next morning, the phone auto-shutdown and couldn't be turned on again. I did not install any 3rd party software in it.
When i plug my charger in, the orange light can still lit up(not blinking, just light on) but the Atom life is lifeless/can't turn on.
Is it brick/semi-brick? What can i do to save my Atom Life?
Anyone experience this before. If you still need more info please ask.

...try to barrow a battery from someone you know who has the same device as you have. If that battery works, it only means that your previous battery is dead... this is only a suggestion before you buy a new one... hope this helps....cheers!
If the battery is 0%, you have to charge for about 20% before atom life can be turn on.So try to charge it and turn it on.

Charge it over 20% and then take the battery out and put it back in. This should help.
Is there such thing as IC chip in the atom?
My sis brought it to some shops and the staff there told her the IC chip is spoilt.
I google up IC chip in atom but there is no such thing. Is the shop trying to con/scam me?
