Sorry but the answer are not realy helpfully because Iam a "studip" Linuxuser and im going to use an XDA 1 or XDA 2 on Linux.
It isnt for necessary that the smartphone works with linux windows-ce is also ok, i will the xda only use under linux.
It this possible ?

Mizi research makes a linux for CDMA phones, why (other than economic reasons) why dont they make their Linux compatible for GSM smartphones (HTC seems to have a large enough base now to make this possible...)

Fellow xda Members:
I come from the Diamond side of xda, so I have no clue on your turf
Quick question: I have a friend that has a ipaq rx3715 and he wants to upgrade the ROM.
I did search and search like a law abiding member but got nothing other than a 2005 ROM.
Of the small knowledge I have about these devices, I can see that the ipaq and the Himalaya are the same?? So I could flash a Himalaya ROM to the ipaq?
Or how can I upgrade the device.?
Thanks very much I appreciate the help.
Please... any one. Simple yes or no will do.
Thanks
I am not 100% sure, but I would say with 99% certainty that a Himalaya Rom wouldn't work. The Rom is built specifically for HTC, and even more specifically for the Himalaya. There are many differences between the phone you mentioned and the Hima, not least of which is their Processors.
Sorry that I couldn't be of more assistance.
Is possible use Android Rom from HTC Tattoo? In the future. Ofcourse. Becouse hardware is similar as hardware from touchcruise.
No way!
Greetings
why?
could you please elaborate "no way"? What is the obstacle? I am sure may of us would love to see Iolite with Android.
Thanks

because porting android needs a lot of rewritting the drivers and how to speak to youre phones hardware
and even the great phones like my blackstone dont have android running
and they are trying to acomplish that for over a half year now
and many other huge phones dont have a working android for there phone
and it arnt that many people here with the iolite so i think we dont have programmer how can make it for us ive it would ever be accomplished on other phones
best regards
miniterror
I don´t can better say this.
Greetings!
HI!
Sorry for stupid questions...but I dont understand why someone should write new driver? Hardware are (almost) the same. Why you can't use tattoo's drivers without changing?
Best Regards!

Hello Fellows,
I just wish to know if is it possible to port our current WM devices? I mean, OEM drivers for Android.
If yes, would be wonderful for many WM users around the world that just wish to migrate to Android Plattaform for many reasons that many of us know pretty much.
Best Regards,
Erick

Thank you
It's possible, not difficult, and not available to the public yet .
There are 2 ROMs (as i saw) , the one Cotulla's working on, and the one appears on xda.cn
Only those two know when it'll be available ..
Thanks

How do you know it's possible and not difficult yet? I know cotulla got it to boot using magldr, but past that we don't know if its gonna be possible to actually run it unless we have Microsoft's test versions and jtag flash them to the hd2 ... and even then we don't know if it could be functional enough to make it worthwhile.

I'm pretty sure that what was seen in the Chinese video was one of the testbed hd2s that ms put wp7 on for development. It was definitely an earlier version of the os... and I'm sure it was either flashed on by ms or a jtag was used to flash one of the test versions of wp7 ... either way there is no wp7 that would be possible for one of us to flash.

Maybe the chinese one is a pretest device from microsoft. ok, but what do you tell about the one from cotulla ? you think MS gave the ROM image to cotulla so that he can flash it through Magldr ? or maybe he's fake too ?

It's been done, see Cotulla's twitter feed. Issue is, atm there's no 'live' function.

Did you bother reading my post above? I clearly stated that cotulla got it to boot with magldr, but until today, no one knew if it was operational at all. Now we know that he did get it operational except for the live stuff and app store.
I was just saying that it was not known at the time of the posts if it was gonna be possible to run. Maybe you believed it did, but that doesn't make it fact, and I think peoples questions should be answered with fact. Now that we know it can be somewhat ran with magldr, questions about whether wp7 can be run on hd2 can be answered with a yes.

who has new ?????
First of all (Well first of all hi everybody!), I've been looking through similar threads as I should, and no, I did not figure out what I was actually looking for. Which seems to me a little bit weird, because I thought this would has been a FAQ! My Q is quite simple: How to build a NAND for HD2. There are many threads, tutorials recounting how to build a Android ROM, but HD2 is not a "Android-born". I've already been programming in C, and now I'm trying some Python. And I want to take part in NAND developement (on HD2). So here we go. I wish someone'll be able to help me to reach my aim.
Thanks
(By the way, it mights remaining some mistakes, english's not my 1st language ^^)
