Help in CALI! XDA II owner in Santa Monica, California - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi - is anyone near Santa Monica California that has an XDA II? I need about 30 minutes of help and will drive to your location for it. Ok, even 5 minutes of help would be great. I can barely use the thing on a good day but i'm a fast learner. Bought the Sandisk WIFI card 000. It blinks and connects! -ok - needs some kind of socket or san disk software. Also my sim card manager seems to have dissapeared....
Thanks in advance...

did you try and reset your phone?

My Shiny New Atom Life On Cingular?

Hello guys. I'm new here.
I travel a lot between Malaysia and the USA. I study at Purdue University, but over holidays, I come back to the warmth of home in Malaysia.
Previously, I've had an XDA II that NEVER worked in the USA. My network provider was Cingular. It got so bad I chucked the PDA out in favor of a simple cell phone.
Now, on my return, I am handed another XDA phone, an Atom Life. My dad just goes through PDAs like there's no tomorrow.
Will the Atom Life work in the States using Cingular? The last time I had an XDA in the States, I managed to receive a grand total of ONE call. There was zero reception everywhere I went in the town of West Lafayette. Is there some settings I need to take care of for it to work?
Your question can be best answered by your network operator. Ask them. I think a 3G phone is needed there.
Yeah, my current cell phone is a 3G phone. The people at Cingular couldn't answer my question. I even threatened to sue their asses for fraud (because their agent told me the XDA II will work on their network), and still they did nothing.
The nerve with those guys.
Any chances of you uploading your Atom Life ROM? We could sure use some updates....
Unfortunately, no. I have no idea how to rip my ROM out. Plus mine was bought the instant it came out, so I don't think it'll update anything.

Prepaid data SIM card while in Germany and Poland?

Hi folks. Lad from the USA here is going to Poland and Germany for 2 weeks. Any advice on where/how to get a prepaid SIM data card? Can it work for both Poland and Germany? And I can just pop it into my SGS II and it'll work straight away without configuring anything?
Thanks.
Ok. I'm in Poland and purchased a Play prepaid sim. Internet works. I purchased the starter kit and refilled at 2gb for 30 zl.
However, the image below seems to say I only have 1.2gb. I don't understand it nor the rest of the text below.
I tried to explain to the guy at the play store and I saw him google "1220mb", which leads me to believe he's a lot more clueless than me.

SIM card in Germany and Poland
rwc..did you ever get a satisfactory solution to your question about a SIM card for Germany and Poland. I'm off to Berlin and then Poland (for the Euro Championships ) in 10 days time and need to sort out my comms. Any advice would be great for a an unlocked Samsung GSM phone I'm getting from Ebay.
Oh lucky you!!!!!! I wish I could go.
in Poland, you can get a prepaid sim data card from Play. It's called Play 4.0 because it works with 4 of their major providers (T-Mobile, Orange, something else, and another something else). The speed is not so bad.
Just pop the SIM in and reboot the phone.

I didn't understand all the details because I didn't speak Polish.
You can purchase a starter kit which gives you like 1GB and then refill. However, the data you are actually allotted doesn't amount to what is advertised.
The sim card didn't work in Germany so can't help you there
Great Sorry for delay in responding..I had a bike accident involving me and a groundhog scurrying across my path and I came out the worst !!
Thanks for the info on Poland..will sort out something else in Berlin, as I can understand a smattering of German.
C'mon the Irish !!
If you purchase an International Roaming SIM when you travel, instead of taking your Germany, Poland mobile with you whilst you travel through Europe, then you should save at least 70% or more. I am sure that you would rather keep your money in your pocket. I'm using holidayphone during my International tour. They providing cheap and best services.

Bell Mobility Note in the Miami era

It'll soon be time for my family to make the annual migration to the "promised land"....Miami.
Last year I was able to get a pretty neat deal with a T-mobile sim in my SGS1. I had unlimited internet, text and calls for like $50. I was able to tether a laptop and two tablets without issue.
As I've passed that SGS1 on to my son, I figured I would get my Bell Mobility Note unlocked before I leave and just do the same this year. I was happy to see that T-mobile has started carrying the Note so figure I should be able to just do the same with this phone as I believe the hardware for all North American notes are the same.
Can any snowbirds relate thier experience in the Miami area with T-mobile? Do I have to flash a specific modem for this area or will the UCLF-6 one work just as well? I still have the t-mobile sim, can I just take it into the same store I bought it from and have it re-activated?
Thanks in advance for any help received...

Going to Guatemala

I have a co-worker with a HTC-ONE on T-Mobile.
He is taking a vacation and wants to plug a sim card from Tigo or Comcell in his phone when he gets there.
Can anybody offer any ideas if this can be done?
He is not rooted, I can root him in 10 min.

Buying an unlock code online is the only way that'll work without going through T-Mobile

Call T-Mobile and explain the situation. They will generally provide an unlock code for people traveling outside the country.
Thanks guys, will pass this along.. Cheers!
