Hello
I have upgraded my XDA2 to WM2005 ( Buzz…you da man). Everything works fine, if we ignore the annoying sync icon who doesn’t want to shut down and the MMS who doesn’t work, but one thing really bugs me. I cannot synchronise my device with the windows media player 10 on my pc. Any ideas why??
Regards
Ovidiu
I am having the same problem, after I upgraded to the new WM5, the windows Media player v 10 just gives an error when I open URL:
Cannot find the file. The file might have been moved, renamed, or deleted. If the file is stored on a server or removable storage card, the server or card might not be available.
Any ideas out there?
HERE IS THE FIX:
Just add /* to the end of the URL and it works Great!
mms://iporurl:8080/*
Have fun.

Hello
so I spent over 3 about 5hour evenings at computer with searching, reading, reinstalling and I dont know what else while trying to eliminate this 85010014 error. God bless my beatifull girlfriend sitting by me and cooking cofee, without her I would jump of my skin.
On wiki pages you can read that 85XXXX... error are comming mostly from bad version or corrupted mapi32.dll. Well I found about 3 different mapi32.dlls /windows/system32/; /program files/common files/..... etc.) in my computer with different file size but same version descriptor !!! I asked even my friends with different OS versions (W2000, WXP) and different Office version (2000,XP,2003). Everybody had the /windows/system32/mapi32.dll in version 1.0.2536.0 but everybody with different size. Note, that no one is using or ever was using alternative email client.
Finally I found out that deleting the one in /windows/system32/ directory does no harm to Outlook 2003 - interesting isnt it ? But without mapi32.dll in /windows/system32/ directory will the activesync 4 installation (build 4343) not work.
So I came back to original (maybe from OS installation comming) mapi32.dll with size 112128 bytes. But this is not the problem. Active sync 4 still produced same error.
Reflashing PPC does no progress, the problem is really on the desktop as the application says. ScanPST for outlook.pst file will not help too. "detect and repair" function of Outlook 2003 - same, no help. Even choosing to "reinstall in the same manner" from office installation CD will not help, even it takes nearly 30 minuts of hard disk tyrania. Note, that I always had the "full" install of MS Office. Of course I always first uninstall active sync, then reinstall office, then install active sync again.
BUT - as I found - "reinstalling MS OFffice" is not the same as unistalling and installing again ! this really helped to solve the problem.
So here is step by step what I did.
1. backup Outlook.pst file (if default - /documents and setting/<user>/local settings/application data/microsoft/outlook.pst)
2. complete uninstall of ActiveSync, even deleting the directory (/program files/microsoft active sync)
3. complete uninstall of MS Office 2003
4. delete profiles (control panel/inbox)
5. full install Office 2003
6. full install Active Sync 4
7. run outlook, create profile, set up email account
8. run activesync without PPC in cradle
9. delete all devices from activesync
10. run activesync on PPC
11. delete all devices on PPC activesync
12. put PPC in cradle
13. establish connection
14. synchronise
15. it works !!!
NOTE:
dont run activesync before opening MS Outlook. In my case it always corrupts Outlook profile with doubling the Outlook folders and because of that corrupting the syndronisation procedure.
good luck to you !
T.H.
While this method may work, I think you will find my method for fixing this to be A LOT easier.
It's two steps, and it requires NO un-installing/re-installing.

Sorry,
but "detect and repair" did not work. I even do not and never had another email client. Maybe you just did not read all of my post.
thanks for your answer
T.
I read all of it, maybe read my post a bit more throughly. See where it says, "Even if you don't it's possible the outlook install got corrupted from another application"
So maybe you didn't read all of my post too
I've fixed 7 machines using this method. Most of them (6) didn't have any other e-mail clients installed.
I did something similar to that insanity 15 step method the 1st time it happened to me 2 week ago. Then I found the "detect and repair" fixed it.
I wonder what was different on your machine.
lol, Windows admins. uninstall/re-install. I'm glad I don't work on this O/S for a living.
I hope yours stays fixed permanently, I wouldn't want you to repeat all those steps again! What a PIA.
I'm sure more people will end up finding these posts, hopefully people get their systems fixed.
I solved my ActiveSync problem with Error 85010014.
I also run Eudora and Incredimail Plugin for Outlook on both PCs, Work and Home. Both are on XP Pro SP2 and when I installed ActiveSync 4.1 on my work PC without issue, I decided to attack my Home PC Outlook installation to see if I could resolve the issue.
So, At home:
Putting Outlook in Offline mode did not solve the problem.
I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.0 and installed ActiveSync 4.1 - No difference.
I backed up Outlook via 3rd party program to grab account settings as well as my 2GB pst file then ran Help->Detect and Repair... - reboot, no difference.
I then ran Control Panel -> Add or remove Programs -> Office 2003 and chose to modify my installation by adding or removing components. I unchecked Outlook and updated it to remove Outlook from my Office 2003 suite. Then returned to this option and re-checked Outlook to add it back to my Office 2003 Suite, CD-Rom in hand but updating, it did not ask for the Office 2003 Install CD-Rom... - Rebooted and connected - Bingo NO 85010014 error!
Support code 85010014 when syncing
Success! Re-install outlook is the only option... for me anyway.
I tried repairing outlook, no difference. Tried new partnerships etc, hard reset my XDA Exec and resync, no difference. Renamed all the mapi32 files I could find and repaired outlook, no difference. Ran the scanpst util, even fixed a problem, still wouldn't sync. Created a completely new pst file and put just 1 email in it (yes it was set to be the default mail delivery folder etc), it wouldn't even sync that 1 item.
So, as per foxnolds post, uncheck outlook in the add/remove programs bit, then re-check it and reinstall outlook, success! Didn't even have to uninstall activesync 4.0 and didn't lose any of my email profiles/settings as it picked them up again after the re-install.
What a palarver.
I am running XP sp2, Office 2003 small business edition, active sync 4.0 and windows mobile 5.0 on an XDA Exec.

Have you tried a simple re-pairing?
Your PC might recognize the device based on physical address, but I think the stack driver for 1.6 and 2.1 are difference.
how to delet devises in my phone
I got devises in my phone which is expaired and i dont know how to delete (SE x10 2.1 world generic)
Doesn't work for me as well. I'm using Nordic 2.1 and Windows 7 64bit. Tried re-pairing, didn't help though. I can use my XPERIA to stream music to my computer, the only feature that's not working is sending files from pc to phone.
I have the same problem after upgrade

Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Problem solved.
Using bluetooth file transfer application - remote files - this will connect to bluetooth exchange folder created in PC by windows 7. Only copy files to this folder - and in phone check refresh - then copy files to your folder on sd card.
Work on 100 %. In case of any question please contact me.

From any file manager, Share > Bluetooth
or you could use Bluetooth File Transfer, avalaible on the market for free, it that case it comes with a built-in file manager and also can browse remote files. You can also do Share> Send with bluetooth with this app from any file manager.
EDIT: This should have been posted in X10 mini general as this is a DEV forum.
EDIT2: Correction not General, the Q&A forum, I just noticed it XD.
Ty for help, i will testing, and sry for post in wrong place.

I was tested, and i am not found the "share", in my windows xp, this option dont exist.
I discovered that if i use the "%windir%\system32\fsquirt.exe" in the option "receive file", i can send file from phone to PC, but is a unique file. I need to start aways i to send a file from phone to pc.
With Bluetooth File Transfer is the same, him only connect with PC and send a unique file, if the program above is started.

If your saying that you are trying to access the phone like a windows network share, you need to go to bluetooth file transfer and turn on the Sharing Service (FTP).
EDIT: Forget what I said, since you are using fsquirt.exe, I assume you are using the default windows bluetooth stack. Its just simply there was no software listening for incoming transfers, hence the need to start fsquirt. Anyways, this is not a problem with the phone, in fact you should take it to a windows PC forum, as your problem has nothing to do with your phone.
I'm having the following two problems transferring music and photos, and was wondering if they are known issues with or without workarounds.
1. When I plug the phone into the PC and try to get at photos, I can't see any thumbnails--just generic JPEG icons.
2. Transferring mp3s and photos often just plain fails. I've tried rebooting phone and PC, unplugging and replugging...but it happens seemingly for no reason. As in, I'll successfully transfer one photo or mp3 to the phone fine, and try another one immediately after without changing anything and it'll hang for minutes before declaring itself a failure.
Any help?
MTP
What OS are you running on your PC? If it is Windows XP, then try to install Windows Media Player 11 and run windows update as well.
Galaxy S III does not support USB Mass Storage like older Android phones but rather uses MTP/PTP as the file transfer modes which are only supported out of the box in Windows Vista or later. For Mac OS X, you'd also need to download MTP client.

I'm running Windows 7.
The problem is not that the PC can't handle MTP mode at all. The problem is that it is inconsistent. One album of mp3s will transfer just fine and 30 seconds later a single mp3 won't move at all. And the fact that I can't see image thumbnails (only generic image-file icons) is a real headache.
Obviously one day I'll be rooting and installing CM or something else, but I'd like to be as fully functional as possible until then.
Is anyone else having similar problems?
Copy and paste never a problem for me .

Hi guys,
i have HTC Leo HD 2 with Energie ROM WM 6.5. I dropped my phone ot the floor and the screen got crashed. Now my sense doesn't work and all my phone contacts are in the phone. Please, help me with coppying all the contacts to the SIM card without using the touch screen ????
HELPPPP
vladi_90, install Activesync or WMDC to your PC. Install Microsoft outlook (part of the office) to your PC. Connect HD2 to USB. When sync software starts - sync your contacts with Outlook. No SIM is needed.Another thing - if you have a file manager on your PC with mobile plugin support (Total Commander for example), you can sync the phone, open it in file manager on PC an run executable of backing up contacts to SIM straight by clicking it on PC. (In case you have yhid backup program on your phone)
connect to PC & use MyMobiler (link in my signature) depends on default setting of usb connection though.

Your in-signature stuff is useful only to run phone's build-in SIM Manager from PC. Nothing else. Sync transport anyway must be installed (activesync or wmdc depending on OS)

Correct & that all you really need, but you could also install whatever contacts backup software you want so can be useful but not always the answer for all scenarios.
Other options are copying the pim.vol then using the wm6.5 emulator to load the pim & retrieve data.
Activesync & WMDC are all in HD2wiki

Heh Dude does not know that the easiest way to keep his contacts safe is to just have outlook.com email and you want him to use emulator and to deal with pim.vol?

Sorry, never read any wiki for HD2, Because I don't need it - I usually cooked my own roms for HD2 and never used someone's else. To know this - you may read my sig.

Problem is if he not by default set for sync by usb then it a bit of a problem using sync & outlook or any other option requiring sync.
In that scenario recovering the pim.vol via sd card extraction software is not a bad option .
Dudes, i can't transfer the contacts ......
I'm installing activesync 4.5 for XP, after that installing MyMobiler, connecting my HD2 with USB to the PC and on the desktop of the phone to default is the second option - Disk Transfer. At the screen of the PC i'am seeing this:
tinypic_____com/view.php?pic=29erkw0&s=8 (i don't have 10 posts and i can't add a link, please put instead of "____" "." )
Ideas ??
Is your device connected in storage mode !
Have a look in 'My Computer' at drives & if showing SD card of the HD2 then that the issue .
For above suggested ideas involving Activesync you need your HD2 to be set in Sync option for USB & obviously you can not change that as touch not working on the HD2 (as mentioned in post #7)
Your best bet is using the autorun feature from SD card to copy the PIM.VOL from the HD2 to the sd card then use emulator or request help for someone use emulator to load the pim.vol & export contacts.
See post below (#3) for general details/download.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699101
You could also try removing SD card & connect via USB & see what access you have yo HD2 with likes of Total Commander from your PC.
