Hello everyone, can anyone please tell me how to bakup the original rom from xda2. what are the tools that ill be using? can u please give me the link for it and step by step method. also and how to restore the backup rom to xda. thank you. M using XDA2 himalaya 1.66 WWE.

Ill use active sync only? does it backup the ROM, extended ROm, radio? Im goin to upgrade my xda2 to 2nd edition and ill go back to 1.66 if ever I dont link SE....will active sync restore my previous ROM if im already running SE? By the way what is this tool for "XDA OS Image tool"? How do I use it? and How Do I restore the ROMS. I downloaded this program but it doesnt work...M using Windows XP SP2

NOTE you can use OSImageTool only to manipulate Wallaby roms with version numbers starting with 3 or 4. ( the pocketpc 2002 and 2003 roms. ) roms for other devices, or the newer 'windows mobile 2003 second edition rom' for Wallaby, are laid out differently, in a way that OSImageTool does not understand.

Shukran Sir Jojo! but is there another way of backuping the ROM direct to pc using cradle instead of using memory cards? The link that u have posted uses memory card then a memory card reader...i dont have a memory card reader po kc. Saka parang complicated namimili ata ng memory card. Kailangan ko lang po ung Original 1.66 WWE full ROMS kung meron po kau nun di ko na gagawin yang pagbaback up po. Download ko na lng sa inyo pede po ba?

"O2 Asia 1.66.00WWE - WM2003" I found it at buzzdev.net but it says on the details "creator-toenailed". di ko lam kung ito ung original na nakasalpak sa mga xda ngaun po. please paki confirm lang po para idodownload ko na lang at di nako pumunta sa mahabang proseso ng backuping. maraming salamat po.

you've got the "ROM Version: 1.72.00WWE"...our backup is "O2 Asia 1.66.00WWE - WM2003"...you have no choice but try to backup your rom...
you can use your device as a card reader.... :lol:

Sir Jojo dinownload ko na po ung 1.66 WWE...actually di po ung saken ang iuupgrade ko ung sa bayaw ko kc naka 1.66 WWE plang cya eh wala po ako kopya nung ROM na yun kya nagpapatulong po ako ng pagbackup eh since u have the 1.66 ROM na dinownload ko na I'll proceede with the upgrade ng xda2 ng bayaw ko. Ung aken po dati is 1.66 WWE then nasalpakan ko ng 1.72WWE UK/Ireland and ang Latest ROM ko ngaun is ung 2.06WWE with XDA2JOJO.V3.2.zS. Comment ko lang po sa ROM nyo OK na OK sya kc 2 ung bluetooth nya! ang galing! Sir Kailan nyo po ba ilalabas ung UPdate ng 1.60a nyo? sana po maayos na yung camera hardware buttons para maiupgrade ko na rin uli. More Power to you! andun sa isang thread ko kung paano ako nag update, yung by edit the ms_.nbf using hex editor, para wala kang error tungkol sa Country ID, and there is another suggestion using xda2nbftool, to change also the country ID try to check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4785&highlight= hope this will help you.

took around 30min.
Be aware that the nbf files in that upgrade are set to operator ID CDL in the extra part of the ms_.nbf file (see my post for details about the extra part). So if you run this without modification, your device will be set to operator ID CDL and will only accept future upgrades with CDL specified as the operator in the nbf headers.

(1) I tried DCS's steps but i only got as far as the 7th step because, when i extracted the devicedata, I didnt know the operator and language values i needed to enter on step 8 (do i use CDL first then re-upgrade using O2? Also in your NOTE, there was a portion for inputting O2 in the extra block of data (where is this?)
(2) I dont know how to use the xda2nbftool to edit the values on step 9
Im a total newbie on this. If this were a desktop PC, it would be safer and easier for me.

I bought kasi my XDAII last Nov 2003 and my wife got one for herself just this week.
I patched my unit (last March 2004) with the one suggested by http://www.myxda.com and I found out that my wife's unit doesn't require the same patch. Further investigation shows that my ROM version is lower (1.60.00WWE compared to my wife's 1.66.00.WWE).
So my question is, do I need to patch my unit to 1.72? What are the benefits in upgrading to 1.72? Why do you want to upgrade to 1.72?

I am sorry you felt you couldn't do this. But I will try to help.
This is the contents of the DeviceData.txt I generated using HimaGetDeviceData on my own XDA II
Code:
U S B 3 2 1 . 7 2 . 0 0 W W E P H 1 0 O 2 W W E 1 . 7 2 . 1 2 6 1 . 1 7 . 0 0
"USB 32 1.72.00WWE " is the OS Version
"PH10" is the Device Type
"O2" is the Operator ID
"WWE" is the Language ID
"1.72.126" is the Extended ROM Version
"1.17.00" is the Radio Version
Obviously the actual content will depend on your device, but the layout of the information will be the same.
Once you are able to identify the operator ID and language ID from your own DeviceData then you should be able to follow the steps in my post here.
As regards the hex editor, I have updated the instructions for that in my post to hopefully make it simpler. It is the hex editor that is used to view and change, if necessary, the contents of the 'extra data'.

Obviously, upgrading your XDA II is something you must decide for yourself I have read in a few places on this forum that it is thought the 1.14 radio is poor, but didn't have it on my device long enough to comment on
Its poor Mr. dcs =( thats why i asked your recommendations =I ... i'll do the upgrade 2nignt ....are You sure about the operator cdl? i cant seem to make the getdevicedata.exe to work well.... it Just shows 1.72 =l do you have a copy of 1.17 radio rom? can i copy from you?

I upgraded to WAXX's 1.72. Everything's A-OK!
Bluetooth performance is much improved! The XDA2 now transfers calls almost instantaneously to my HBH65.

Yung steps ba ni rcs ginawa mo, or wala ka na edit sa mga files? Baka kasi ma country code error din ako, di pa naman ako marunong gumamit ng mga hex editor.

i moved them to a temporary location.

wala na ko plano bro mag post pa ug procedure...sakit kaayo dughan nako sa mga uban nga gagong walay modo nga membro diri bai...anyway kung naka d/l ka ug 1.60a apil na sa attachment ang procedure...

Will WM2005 work for the XDA 2i/ Alpine or whatever other name it is known as? Is this the official final version or just a beta version with lots of glitches which will cause my PDA no end of problems? Trouble installing WM2005
I've installed the latest version of WM2005 1.60b but after installing I have seriuos trouble with ActiveSync; it doesn't automatically recognize the device when put on the cradle. I've tried Guest and other partnership status but both results in not good working link. Does any body have an idea what might cause the trouble?

Hi all, i'm live in viet nam and i have justed cooked my o2 atom to a useless stupid thing.
Everything started when i start to know how to upgrade my phone using usb cradle. after some times successfull upgrade but the phone still not in good condition. The service network coverage is not continuos. So i have try to copy
diskimage_ver.nb0 and eboot.nb0 to my SD card and boot my phone to bootloader mode. The phone showing update os image then show update eboot img. After 100% the phone goes blank and no respone to anything.
Does anyone can help me save my phone.

I finally fix my atom do you want how i can fix
it very simple.
After i'm bore trying turn it on and on but it still black.
I was very sadly so i take off battery and forgot it for a week.
Last night i have tried to get bootloader again and was supprised that it worked.
Then i upgrade original rom and teng teeng teng. My phone working again.
Thanks my god. and your helps.

Alright , I bought HD2 which I didn't knew that was from T-Mobile network, so they ripped YT App.
When I installed this one,all videos in HTC Album stopped playing. When uninstalled , it worked again, but now I've got no YouTube app.
Any suggestions?
install a custom rom which has the HTC youtube app.
the newest stock rom has a working version, you can get it from the htc site......
