I use my qtek 2020 as my car sound, gps and phone system.
Sometimes while I'm playing an mp3(from 1gb SD card) I loose the connection: the sd card disappears and the music stops.
is there any kind of upgrade that can solve this problem?
I have a very standard italian rom (vodafone 1.10.00 or something similar)
Thanks

I did use WM 2003 on my T-Mobile MDA since ver 3.04 , 4.00.01 , 4.00.05 , 4.00.10 and 4.00.16.
I found that all version has a SD regonizer problem. If I insert a new SD card into the machine , it will not regonized immediately (it still display the content of the old card), I have to reboot the machine to fix the problem.
Anyone got this problem or know how to fix it?
Get the latest version (2.6-2003 compatible) version of Flash Format-trial is free:http://www.cnetx.com/format/
Copy the contents of your sd to harddisk (preferably bij sd reader)
Format the sd with Flash Format 2.6
Put your sd copy from harddisk back to sd.
It worked for me, much faster, no more problems with 4.0016.
I figured somehow the 2003 sd format is different from the 2002 one.......
I found that it's not the problem of the ROM, it's my MDA cannot detect the SD is exist or not anymore, it just keep thinking my SD is inside the SD slot.
Since it is offtopic, can someone move this topic?
Moreover, anyone have tell me how to fix this problem?
Thanks.
I bought my XDA I used about 6 months ago and continue to get a message everytime I power it up. The error is Unrecognized Card - Enter the name of the device driver for this card. For information, see the card manufacturer's documentation - Unknown card in Socket 1.
This message has been around with the original rom and continues with a Yorch cooked 400.16 ENG rom.
This message does not occur if there is a SD card in the slot (borrowed one to test). As I am trying to save up some spare change to buy a 512 MB card, it will be a few more weeks till I get the SD card. In the meantime, is there a way to get rid of this message (short of using an SD card?)
unchecked the "receive all incoming IR signals"
The slot in the T-Mo phone is read-only, meaning it can not use anything except a SD card to read data. Sometimes if you have a device card (like a camera) the device might be loading a driver during the boot.
I had this problem at one time it was trying to load a keyboard driver (weather the keyboard was present or not), my fix was too unchecked the "receive all incoming IR signals" in the communications folder.
Good Luck
what make is your SD card? could be a compatability problem :\ my dads ipaq 3870 gets it sometimes with a PQI compact flash card but works fine with sandisk. works fine with the pqi too just sometimes it comes up for no reason? but the pqi is 24x faster at reading/writing that why he likes to use that one
gazzaman2k
from how i read his post then he get the Unrecognized Card when there is no sd card in his xda
and it goes away when he puts in a sd card
oh :\ has get got some sort of thing stuck inside the sd port? liek the sheild bend and touching the prongs?
Hi,
I have a 4GB micro SD card and just installed TomTom Western_Europe_1GB_830_2306 + application (leaves me up to around 3GB)
The problem is that i can`t start TomTom because it says my micros SD card is full
I`m using:
ROM: Raphael_M-Rom_v3.21
micro SD card (formatted to FAT32 before installing applications)
Phone: MDA Vario IV (HTC Touch Pro)
Does anyone know how to fix/patch this?
Thanks
HI, i've had that same problem too. I had to place my map in the following folder:
/opslagkaart/Mijn Documenten (of My Documents, depending on what language ROM you're using)/MAPS
This way, it worked like a charm for me...
Good Luck!!!
Hi there,
I'm new to android and don't know how things should work normally but I've found a strange behaviour:
1. I've installed Sygic Navigation on my Xperia mini pro. Some folders have automatically been created od memory card during the installation, containing Sygic sound files.
2. A couple of days later I've bought a brand new Sandisk 32GB microSD card.
3. I unmounted the old 2GB card, removed it from the phone, put into the computer's reader and copied its contents (all files, including hidden ones) to a new card.
4. I inserted the new card and mounted it.
5. From this moment on, strange things with sound files began to happen: the phone somehow changed sound mapping of previously selected ringtone, notification and alarm sounds to the Sygic's navigation sounds from the SD card.
6. When it rang or when it received an sms I could hear: "Turn left", "You've arrived" in various languages like Vietnamese, Czech, Spanish!
7. I've been able to set everything back to normal except for the notification tone which stayed the same and played even when I set it to no sound!
8. As I couldn't manage with the notification sound I've decided to format my microSD card and after I've done so, the problem disappeared, but...
9. In the phone's memory, there's a folder: /system/media/audio/notifications, containing standard system notification sounds. When I try to play these when the SD card is inserted, all I can hear are Sygic's sounds (!). When I remove SD card from the phone and try to play these files I get the "Can't play the file" message.
10. Now, who can explain it to me? How the sounds from /system/media/audio/ are dependent on the SD card?

Try repairing your phone firmware via Update Service or PC Companion.
Backup your data first, as all of it will be lost.
