Bluetooth GPS and Headsets

Hi folks
Have seen a few posts on these forums regarding bluetooth GPS and headsets and just wanted a bit of clarification.
Can the XDA IIs coexist with a Bluetooth GPS receiver and a bluetooth headset at the same time?
If not, then are you guys using the speakerphone/headphones for your handsfree while using the bluetooth for gps?
Thanks all

Bump up - anyone able to help me with this?

Expansys had previously advised me that it wasnt possible, but thanks for clearing it up for me!!
Have a good un and all that.
My Navman 4410 GPS Receiver and Jabra BT250 work happily together too...
I have a Siemens X66 and I'm using it with a Socket GPS receiver and a Bluetooth UConnect installed device in my car.
Works great together
EVERYTHING WORKS OK
I AM FROM GREECE I HAVE QTEK 9090 AND I HAVE A GPS RECEIVER (RIKALINE),WITH HBH-65 HANDS-FREE, BOTH OF THEM WORKS OK.

Which GPS

Hi all,
I just got a Qtek 9090 branded by Vodafone. Seems an excellent piece of kit.
I want to use it for GPS in my car. Can I have a recomendation for a GPS BT kit please.
I hear TT3 can be REALLY slow with the 9090 and that is due to be replaced by TT4 soon. Is the Navman 4420 compatible and any good?
Thanks.

I use an XDAII with TTN3, works fine. I would reccomend Globalsat, Leadtek, Fortuna ClipOn or Emtac BT GPS units.
I have a garmin GPS 10 bluetooth unit which has just ben released, I have found that it works well and has the advantage that it comes with PC and pocket PC software so that you have the option of using your phone or your laptop, the europe cover sems good.
I have a Rikaline 6010 X5 mouse. Works great even through my windshield with foil I have up to 8-10 satelites!
I just ordered my Qtek 9090 branded by the german mobile provider ePlus, cant wait for it to arrive. In the meantime I keep looking for things to use my PDA for.
Im all into GPS navigation systems, ever been. BUT if you keep on reading this post you hereby willingly accept the fact me being a -> complete <- newbie on that issue.
So actually my main question at the moment is, what besides a PDA and a SD card and software do I need to start? How do I let the satellites know where I am?

tom tom car craddle
Does anybody know if there is a tom tom car craddle somewhere, some kind of holder which combines the GPS antenna and a car holder with loading function.
@factor 5:
I guess you already got your MDA3. DO you figure out a way with the GPS thing. I also have the provider eplus and am waiting for the blue angel to come...
answer would be nice
BT 338

I have the ORANGE SPV M2000 and have Tom Tom working fine via serial cable ARKON holder with GPS and speaker.
But I bought a new BT 338 sirf star 111 Bluuetooth and cant connect to my PDA any help in setting this up please.
Best Sat Nav
I have an XDA IIs with a BT-338 bluetooth GPS receiver and Destinator 3. I use an Arkon mount which powers the XDA and can also charge the GPS receiver.
I have used Destinator in Ireland, France, Spain and Florida and find it very good.

Qtek 9090 works with BMW Bluetooth!

Although I was somewhat skeptical before purchasing my XDA IIs (=Qtek 9090) whether it would work with the Bluetooth handsfree kit in my BMW 525d (E60) I managed to get it working! Sofar the only PDA Phone that works with BMW Bleutooth was the Treo 650.
The only difference in use with my Nokia 6310i is that the phonebook does not synchronize withthe car but that is not so bad because you can use the display of the XDA IIs to search your contacts or dial numbers. Dialing numbers through iDrive also works.
I have a Brodit 978612 holder that charges the XDA IIs and the display of the XDA IIs is easy to see. The only drawback is that you do not have an external antenna.
I did install the latest Bluetooth software (v3900) in my XDA IIs before trying it out.
Bluetooth in X5
I have a 2005 BMW X5 but have not managed to make my M2000 connect with the BMW Bluetooth system. Can you tell me the procuedure you used to bond with your car ? I am running version 1.0.0 Build 3500 on my M2000.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

I would recommend installing the latest Bluetooth software to your M2000, V3900. I don't remember exactly what I did but make sure that in Phone Options you enable the Headset option. Also I have more consistent success in using the BMW BT handsfreekit when I leave Bluetooth on Xda IIs switched off until the BMW is running and then switch BT on.

Wired GPS

HI.
I've read through the forums and the wiki but can't find much info about using wired gps receivers with the TyTN.
I have a Leadtek GPS receiver presented as an USB A plug. I've connected this into a USB gender changer and then plugged my USB sync/charger cable into this and into my TyTN. The light on the GPS indicates it's receiving but I can't get tomtom 6 or the Wintek Navigator software that goes with the GPS receiver to see the GPS data. Do I just need some USB drivers for the TyTN or should I just give up and buy a Bluetooh GPS?
Many thanks

i think youd be better off working with bluetooth as i dont think youd be able to use a wired gps. think it has been discussed on one thread how this is much a hassle if not perilous for your device.
wired or bluetooth
for sure op is asking about wired connection
but he said should he buy bluetooth?
i am only suggesting if he wants bluetooth but has not got device then this one that i got is great
I think you will find the phone doesn't like any connections but bluetooth.
This is because you cannot use USB without activesync, depending on if you have WM5 or WM6 then the version of active sync matters as well.
If that wasn't the issue then the only other thing it would be after that is the serial setting in tomtom (to the GPS device).
They of course need to be found in the right sequence as well.
Bottom Line as hinted consider buying a bluetooth gps device they are cheap now.

You cannot use any wired GPS.
Bluetooth only when it comes to connecting a GPS.

I've tried the Global Sat Bluetooth GPS reciever it is working very good on both my PDA and Laptop.
My Pda is HTC Tytn, schaps 5.53C Radio V1.5
I beleive that the GlobalSat SD-502 SDIO GPS Receiver with built in 512Mb will work. It is kind of pricey and doesn't come with any GPS software but might be worth a shot.

The Hermes has a Micro-SD slot - not SD so SDIO is not going to fit.
Went for Bluetooth
Bought a Brodit Active Cradle and a Holux M-1000 Bluetooth GPS receiver - totally wicked.
Thanks for all the advice
Hello.
I found an SD >>> miniSD adaptor http://www2.multithread.co.uk/mtcsh...oducts/Flexible_SD_to_MiniSD_Adapter_main.jpg
Maybe there is some SD >>> microSD adaptor, I will check this.
anyway, the question is: ¿Is the microSD SLOT a SDIO SLOT?
Salutes!
