once XDA2 is unlocked ? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I have managed to unlock my XDA but won't take my 3G sim, is it a problem anyone has had.
Cheers

XDAII can accept 3G SIM , but 3G features are not avaible because the XDAII have not 3G capabilities ...
In your XDAII , the phone work and not the 3G ? or there is anything available ?

The XDA says invalid sim but everything else is working fine

The XDA says invalid sim but everything else is working fine

if it's from the company called 3 then they blocked their sims so they cant be used in 2g phones

Ok cheers,

US T-Mobile Device in Hungary

I have a US T-Mobile PPC Phone device and I've recently moved to Hungary. Westel is my provider here in Hungary. I was hoping that everything would work the same here by only using a new SIM. My phone works fine, but GPRS doesn't work at all. It tries to dial the connect and then drops before the connection is made.
The Westel service folks said that my phone won't work here in Hungary because it has a different "software" version (I think they mean ROM). While this makes some sense, my phone worked fine here using my US T-Mobile SIM on the Westel network. It just doesn't work with a Westel SIM.
Can I or should I try to get a Qtek ROM for my phone? Is there something else I should try?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

3g sim on xda11 sim working

I am on a 3g contract and only use it for phone calls, I do not use the 3g stuff(directley as I know of) Is it possible to transfer my IMEI number to the XDA11 and will it work on the 3G network. I can then use the XDA11 and not have to carry two phones, well more like bricks but good stuff.
IMEI is harcoded into a phone and cant be changed in most cases not to mention it being illegal
if 3's sim were compatible which the newer ones are not you could use it in the xda phone though unless 3 have some odd IMEI locking on their networks
Thank you for your reply rudgear
Thank you for your reply rudgear, If it was possible could it work. Changing IMEI is legal in the uk, but not in some countries.

YES !!! youre right.... so far I know in Indonesia almost everybody can change imei ...
Hi , I don't konw about the IMEI , but I know that you can use the 3G sim card with 2G phone if the provider use another network for roaming , in this case you will use the roaming one always and you will lose the benfits of 3G.
The only reason I have a 3g phone from three is the cheap calls/conrtact I don't want the 3g stuff, it's to expensive at the moment. I think 3g link up with O2 if there is no signal on thier network. maybe it,s possible to stay on the O2 network with a 2G phone?
indra 9110
I have read http://wiki.xda-developers.com, this did not help, I bought a serial cable and used that with a full reset and the xda malipulator, that did not work or the xda2unlock.
the xda manipulator only work with walaby xda1 devices and some say only with some radio stacks
as far as i know you cant change the imei it's hardcoded in a chip or something and cant be altered could be wrong though but i've never heard about anybody doing it
Currently I use 3G sim card with 2G phone and it work fine but in roaming mode because the 3G company has contract with another company to serve there customers where is no 3G coverage ... however my brother signed new contract with 3G and they give him sim card but in diffrent color , The new sim card doesn't work in my phone which mean the company changed something in the new sim cards .
note : I have to use manual network in my phone then I chose the other tel co. .

T-Mobile UK

Can anyone help?
Have xda atom but cannot use it on t-mobile uk! Keeps connecting then disconnecting and have no gprs signal. Have had a new sim card sent but still having the same problem  The sim is a 3g sim but t-mobile says that does'nt make a difference should be able to use in a non 3g phone? Is that True??
Put my orange or vodafone sim's in and connect to their networks no probs.
Anyone any suggestions please?
Try it on other non 3G phone? or try it at different geographic location
Thanks for your suggestion hanmin. Have tried different location but still the same. tried in another non 3 g phone and had the same. Have signed up on an o2 payg chip and no probs and have also now tried an orange 3g chip and that worked too. Now in dispute with t mobile as the chip is now playing up in my mda pro too and has been for a while (not a faulty pro after all maybe!)
Wished never switched to t mobile as always been an orange user!! why oh why!!
Have the same problem as you but on Virgin MObile UK. Am thinking of changing providers. Just moved from australia and brought my o2 atom with me.
Just to confirm, you've tested with vodaphone and o2 SIM and both worked fine?
Hi tristrem21 sorry have'nt looked on xda developers for a while! so did'nt notice your question regarding service providers. Yes have tried it on o2 and Vodafone and the sims work fine. It will also work well on Orange too.
same problem, bump for solutions
anyone though of anything yet?
thanks for the tip lob. have switched to o2. works fine now. cheers

XDA Neo weak or no signal Problem!

Hi everybody,
I've bought an O2 XDA Neo (Not branded) from Germany the past weeks and i updated it to an WM6 ROM. (Tried with a lot of ROM combinations, Jester and PDAviet_Temp for WM5 and even WM5 official, and all the latest Contributed WM6 ROMS, and even all updates for Radio ROM.)
The problem remained the same: For Orange RO and Vodafone RO my phone has weak or no signal (only isolated cases with full signal) but for Cosmote RO my phone works perfectly.
I came with this questions after many many attempts to solve my problem like even changing the SIM-s used (old or newer),trying the pim.vol solution, even trying to understand the difference between operators frequences (Orange is on 1800 i suppose and Cosmote in on 1800 and 900 also) but nothing changed anything.
I think not even only WM5 used.
There are some differences between the 2 and Cosmote like PGSM for the 2 and EGSM for Cosmote or some other stuff, but i have tested with other G4 Neo and all should be fine.
The only problem that i had with the update was that i could not get the SIM unlock to work as it should (G4 problem i suppose) - The code i recive are hieroglyphs.
I feel i have tried everything and came to the conclusion that it should be a hardware problem but why does it work with Cosmote RO?
Thank you and hope you can guide me in solving the problem.
Kind regards, Hatza
If you cannot unlock the SIM, then you should not get any signal. I have unlocked my prophet (it is a G4) without trouble. Try this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Prophet_Unlock_Sim and see if the problem persists.
If it is an O2 XDA Neo, how can it not be branded? Is it already SIM unlocked?
SIM Unlocked with errors
That was the exact way that i used SIM unlock but the problem was that instead of the code, i recive only some "hieroglyphs", so i cannot use any unlock code.
The phone was bought as with NO SIM LOCK, but the recived box that he came in was for O2 even if the phone has no visible O2 logo.
From what you have said, I think itis hardware issue. try different sim cards if you can. Use the device in different locations, and check the connection settings are correct. Also check the network coverage and band in your area if you can.
XDA Neo weak or no signal!
But if it is a hardware problem, what should be wrong that for some networks it works, and for some it doesn't.
One other thing, does the prefered networks setting rely on the phone or on the network setting becouse i always find Orange and Vodafone unchecked?
By hardware problem, I meant SIM cards. I should have been clearer. Try using a SIM card from the same network if you have one, and see if the problem still exists.
The preferd network settings is downloaded from the network when the device connects, although I would suggest changeing them if that is true.
XDA Neo weak or no signal!
Tested again with new set of SIMs. The same result:
- Orange RO NOT WORKING
- Vodafone RO NOT WORKING
- Cosmote RO WORKING
In all the cases (all networks) if i set a PIN code, i am beeing asked for it but no difference what so ever.
And yes, it is location dependent becouse where i normally have a strong signal, my phone get's weak signal before loosing it, but for weak signal locations, no signal is found.
PIN codes are for the SIM card, not for the network. I think the problem may well be a hardware (your device) fault. Did the problem happen when you first got the device?
XDA Neo weak or no signal!
I've recived it as functional and my only mistake was not to test if before upgrading.
Is there any way i could generate that kind of fault while upgrading. I received no error what so ever in the process.
With the working SIM, all incoming and outgoing calls were succesfull without any trace of the error. Tests were done for 3 days and no error was seen.
is there any way i could find out if it has a SIM lock ( information anly) or any infrmation that it should be useful to you to give you an ideea of the phone status?
For hardware, do you have any clue what should have failed?
Thanks a lot, Hatza
If there is a SIM lock, the device would ask for the SIM unlock code on startup.
I have no idea what could have failed, I just suspect it is either that, or a driver incompatability, but given what you have said earlier (regarfding ROMs and radio ROMs), I think drivers can not be the cause.
I have the same problem. I have a qtek s200 free and only works with movistar. Not recorded in the red orange
XDA Neo signal Problem
Was it always working only on movistar or it started after upgrading to newer ROM versions?
always on movistar
XDA Neo signal Problem
Does anyone have a Qtek (HTC) support link where we can get some answers in this matter or some other tools that we can try?
XDA Neo signal Problem
Are there any other limitations that a gsm operator enables for the devices besides SIM lock?
There are security settings that prevent the use of unauthorised software, but a flash overwrites these files.
XDA Neo signal Problem
What is the difference between Movistar frequency and the other networks?
Could it be that it's the only one that includes GSM-900?
XDA Neo weak or no signal!
Found one tehnical detail while retieving my steps for the WM6 upgrade.
First, before i started upgrading the XDA Neo G4 to WM6, a friend of mine helped me with unlocking the device (from what i see now CID Unlock and SIM unlock also).
The problem is that, from what i saw, G4 can not be CID unlocked, only SIM unlocked, and my friend used LokiWiz02b which i had found to be normaly used for Wizard devices.
Should that have affected my phone in any way that this error appeared?
If it is possible, is there any way we could reverse the process ? (manually or tool )
P.S. I have attached one zip with what i hope to be the program and the backup created (files automatically generated).
XDA Neo weak or no signal!
I see that you even have a warning that we should not perform the CID unlock on a G4 device!
As i said, if it seems like i already did, should that be the problem for this signal loss?
Does anyone know if he can be linked to any parameter configuration?

sarcasim is a good thing but maybe you aren't comprehending what i am saying duhh!!
i own NSPRO box and have unlocked the galaxy S phones quite frequently, the phone is sim unlocked for any sim card or gsm carrier, what i am saying has nothing to do with unlocking with the sim card in( which i tried for ****s and giggles). the problem is the vibrant is not recognized on the network , i have tried my sim and several other t-mobile sims the phone doedn't receive signal on t-mobile network or simple mobile( which is a NVO of t-mobile)so what i am asking is does t-mobile block imei's from their network and is their a solution other then changing imei of the phone which i do not wish to do although i can change imei i will not since it is illegal.
the problem
let me clarify it actually says on the screen
"not registered on network"
anyway to register it on system???
its unlocked and works on at&t, h2o and all other gsm carriers except t-mobile and simple mobile
clone another imei, that will solve this problem, There is an app that allows you to give you a new I D # to your phone
I am same problem here everytime try to make call it says "Not Registered on the Network", SIM card works fine on different phone, also other SIM when inserted on Vibrant gives same message.
Under Settings> Wireless> Mobile network settings does not allow access...
Can someone help resolve this situation.
Thanks,
I am also
having the same problem. I purchased a used Vibrant from my friend whom defaulted on his bill so he sold his phone to me. When I attempt to use the T Mobile prepaid SIM or a regular T Mobile SIM it will not allow me to connect to the network. It stays on (Searching) or (No Service) but the date and time updates so I know it is connecting, just not able to use the network. Is there anyway to get around this problem or do I need to root and unlock to go to another carrier?
Hi guys I am having similar issue, please help
I was using bionix 1.3.1 by team whiskey, whats your advice do I change to ICS, will that solve the problem or simple radio upgrade will solve the matter? I have gone through several sites and found that this problem is with many android mobiles since last 2-3 years. Is there no solution to this yet! I have tried Airplane mode, removing battery, downloading autocut and all those basic methods but to no help ...
I have the same problem, did anybody find a solution?
I tried everything, flashed to stock, GB, ICS, JB.
My phone is unlocked and it only works on AT&T, the sim card is good, as I'm using it on my backup phone.

Same here. This all happened when I let my friend borrow my phone to put his SIM on it. It was a prepaid Simple Mobile SIM. It didn't work but after I went to put my SIM card back into my Vibrant, the phone never got service.
Funny thing is, my SIM works on one of my older phones, so I know the SIM still works, but my Vibe gets messages like "out of service" and "not registered on network" even through it still has some bars.
I think the problems relates to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37703090#post37703090
Somehow the bands on your device is messed up so you never get a signal. Not sure how to fix it but any solutions would be great.
