Has anyone found a bluetooth car kit for the XDA IIs that has half way decent sound quality? I'm on my second PARROTT kit and the quality is not good!
Looking for some recommendations or others user experiences with XDA IIs kits.
I havea similar issue...just got a QTEK 9090 in the form of a Vodafone1620....tried it with my existing Nokia BT HF Kit. Works great for me but callers are complaining about a very bad echo.
Bad Echo with Hands Free Kit
I have the same problem. I am on my second Blue Angel. One was a Qtek 9090 and I now have an XDA IIs. Both have a very bad echo when using it with a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth car kit, so much so that I now use a Bluetooth earpiece in the car.
I assume it is the Blue Angel that has the problem and not the car kit because my Nokia 6060 had no problem.
Car Kit
I use the Sony Ericson BT car kit and the sound quality is very good - no echos'a at all.
BT carkit for Blue Angel
So is the Sony Ericsson the best for sound recevied both by the caller and the receiver? anyone else tried this? I dont want to start a collection of bluetooth carkits if I can help it
Was this a professional install? Any particular Sony BT model?
Many thanks
BT car Kit
I'm using the Sony Ericson HCB-300 car kit.
I installed it myself.
It gets a bit of noise from the car at high speed  , but that's my car - not the car kit.
If I can throw in my uninformed two penn'rth: I own a Nissan which has bluetooth hands free through the radio/CD player. It pairs with my XDA2 but doesn't make or receive calls through it. It pairs with my old Sony Erricson 68i and works perfectly, with excellent sound at both ends of the call. If you are getting an echo, it is very likely that the hands free is not disconnecting the mic on the phone, so you are then getting feedback. A simple test would be to obscure the mic on the phone and try again. Won't solve the problem, but will at least show what's causing it.

before i buy jabra 250 . is it work well with pda2k now after the new rom????
also do you have something better than jabra?
jabra 250
no good 4 a xda2
jabra also confirm this if asked
so which bluetooth headset is best ?
Sony Ericsson Akono HBH-300 ok ?
Mine works faultlessly with my XDAII.
Mine works, but there is no actual handsfree. i.e. you cannot do a last number redial, as with the wired headphones, so I presume it is not legal to use in UK when driving?
When you ring someone there is a second delay then the XDA transfers the call to the headset. When you recieve a call you have to press the answer but on the headset then it is transfered. You don't get it ringing in your ear. Well mine doesn't.:-(
Regards
I get ringing in my ear with mine and no dely when transferring.
I can confirm that only answering and ending calls work. There is no dialing on LNR.
Headset
I have a blue angel ( SX-66) and neither my BT200 or 250 work with it....
The Stack is too old as well so my BT keyboard will not work either !
Stay away from Jabra 250 on these phones. Jabra 200 *might* be ok.
HBH-300, HBH-660, Plantronics M3000, Logitech Freedom are few that work well.
HS820 will work but audio is poor compared to above head sets.
You can patch that SX66 with i-mate patches.
Hard Reset and apply these in this order.

Here is some commentary from Tech Support. Does this make any sense?
Dear Sir.
Thank you for writing in and for your query. Regarding your issue, I would like to tell you that you should install the Bluetooth patches after upgrading your device in order to fix the device Bluetooth issues. On the other hand, regarding Bluetooth headsets, Sony Ericsson HBH-65, Cellink, Jabra and Motorola headsets work perfectly with i-mate devices. Most of these headsets have been tested by i-mate technical team. There have not been any reported complaints regarding these headsets as they are quite compatible and error free with the i-mate™ devices.
Regarding Plantronics M3000 Bluetooth headset have not been tested yet from i-mate technical team.
On the other hand, make sure that your headset has the following specifications: Bluetooth Ser. Version 1.1 and supports the headset profile.
I brought a jabra 250 and didn't know it had problems with this device 100$ later I reallized that it doesn't work it pairs and I can hear people but if I am more than 2 feet from the phone the audio become muffled.
my coworker has a nokia headset. and the same thing happened.
I am not sure what my bluetooth version is but I I do have the latest roms.
Hi,
I have the Jabra BT200 with the non bluetooth adapter and I get more crackle in my ear that I get out of my bowl of Rice Krispies! And there is no point in using the adapter with it when the headset is bluetooth and is supposed to work with my MDA III. Oh! and for the record... I also have the SX56 and the bluetooth adapter and it didn't work with that device either. When I plugged it in the jack and turn on the set , no sound. Jabra is a decent product. But lets face it, Any company that is going to make anything or install anything Bluetooth need to stick with one set of Bluetooh frequency protocols instead of trying to make it customized to work with just certain devices. Because everybody is not going to stick with the same headset or the same phone and people upgrade all the time and others just stick with what works. In my research I did fine that any of the Plantronics headsets (M2500 best pick) works well. Which I will pick up this weekend. I hope this helps. Cheers everyone.

using a bt200
I'm using a blue angel (XDA2s) with a Jabra BT200 headset, I have installed the recently released patch from o2 to fix the bluetooth problems, and now I find it works ok, audio is reasonable withing a couple metres, gets a bit flaky further away but I'm never sure if that's the bluetooth or network signal in my house!
It IS slightly annoying that you can't do dialing, not even last number redial from your headset, but mostly if I'm driving I'm not making calls, merely expecting them, so I can answer on my headset OK and talk to the caller. I DO get a short ring tone in my ear (series of short beeps).
I got my headset free with my phone so I'm happy to live with it's limitations til I've finished paying for Xmas, then I might ebay it and buy an officially supported one which I can do LNR with.
I have heard (dont know if anyone can confirm) that the blue angel doesnt support voice dialling via your headset (for any bt headset) as the bluetooth headset doesnt take over the microsoft for all applications on the blueangel.
Jabra FS-258 (Jabra 250 + car charger)
No problems here (crackle) after upgrading to the 3500 stack. Making voice commands isn't the fault of the gadget -- blame the stack on the XDA. Originally bought mine for the SE T68i and it worked perfect. Moving to the SE K700i the call button didn't work anymore. So, this is a software driver implementation problem definitely. The best thing about the Jabra is its linked to all the previous devices and I just have to turn off the bluetooth on one so the connection hops to the other. Seamless integration with the XDA IIs.
My Jabra 250 works perfectly on my the XDA II and my XDA IIs. On the IIs i do get some crackle/static related to the bad stack especially so after the 3500 update but hopefully that will be fixed soon, anyway that is no fault of the headset.
Also on the IIs it is extremely loud and i had to turn it down. I always had it on full on the II.
On both II and IIs there is a ringing in the headset aswell as the devices ringing.
It is a shame that handsfree is not fully supported still in the new IIs.
o2 don't like making it easy to find out about compatability, do they?
There's the list on the my-xda website, but that's not very exhaustive.
Muggins here phoned up customer services trying to find out whether the Logitech stuff worked. After taking me through security, I got another number...
...which was engaged for 20 minutes.
So, eventually I got thru, and was told to phone customer services (on a different number) and ask for data support.
I got through there. "Nick", a helpful chap, then passed me onto tech support.
Tech support insist that the only things that work are the:
SonyEricsson HBH200 and 65, and the Nokia HS 4W, 3W, HD W3 and W2.
I suspect they are talking what is known technically as "balls".
This site seems much more helpful...
Hi , Can you please help. I have a parrot 3000 car kit and my xda2 works perfect except for the volume. I also have a jabra bt200 works perfect also. But the Problem is that I can only set up one bluetooth Device on the xda2. The problem is I can only use one of these devices as bonded. If I have the headset bonded it works fine. But if I have the car kit bonded also it wont work with either even if the headset is off. I know you cant use two devices at the same time, But it only appears to work with one or the other. I have the headset set up for headset on the xda 2. But if I try to bond with the car kit it asks to set it as a headset also. If I am in the car I need the car kit to operate with the phone, When I get out of the car and switch on the headset I need it to work while I am walking around. I would be most grateful if anyone can help. I hope ihave explained it properly. Thanks
Same pronblem with different peripherals
HI all,
I have the same problem with differents peripherals, I have a Parrot CK 3000 (I'm very happy with this) and a Fortuna GPS and i would like to know if there is a way in order to configure my XDAII in order to be connected to the Parrot and to use the GPS.
Thanks
I have just downloaded this piece of software that allows you to have up to 9 devices working at the same time..... give it a try...

Hi everyone
I need help choosing between 2 bluetooth stereo headphones:
1) Sony Ericson HBH-DS970
-$60 CAD used from someone local (he claims it is not a fake)
2) Jabra BT8010
-about $110-140 CAD on eBay
I am having a hard time deciding between the two.
Are they both equally compatible with the Hermes? Which one has better sound quality when playing music?
Please help me decide or a different BT headphone that you think is better.
Thanks
I just tried out the SE DS970 and I was not impressed with the audio quality. there was no skipping because I used Sleuth's patch and I tried all the BT quality settings using the HTCtweak but the audio quality was poor compared to the OEM USB headphones. I am certain it was not a fake. Is that normal sound quality on the Hermes?
I hope someone can comment on this.
There are two threads with extensive discussion on the SE HBH-DS970 and also some on the Jabra 8010

Try these.
I personally use the SonyEricsson and am very happy with the quality. The bass is particularly good.
I have not tried the Sony, but looking at the comments and the ergonomy of the headphone, it may provide better bass than the BT8010.
The BT8010 sound is well balanced with good bass, but the reason I am using it is that it is flexible. it can convert from a headset to a headphone very easily.
When used as a headset, you can get A2DP sound in your ear including phone ring, Voice command and system sounds.
It has also a vibrate function so you can put it in your pocket and still get those phone calls.
No compatibility issue whatsoever with Hermes.
For best sound on the go I am using the superwifi5 with BT320s or simple cable adaptor cable as Sling Video has some trouble to keep up with WiFi and BT A2DP at the same time
What stereo blue tooth HEADSET do you recommend for Wizard? I am interested into a head set not very expensive ...but I want also to be able to listen music or to speak at the phone with it.

I'm using Sony Ericson HBH-DS970
Pretty good sound but battrry life is little bit doubtfull about 4 hours of nonstop listening but on stand by waiting for call battery last much more.
Plantronics have similar model but with no display, - if I remember well.
I'm using a Motorola HT820 headset. Pretty good sound and a longlife battery. You can make phonecalls and hear music.
But bevor you can hear music you have to upgrade the software to AKU 3.3.
I bought it at EBAY Germany for 20 Euros.
Okay, I'm not trying to reinvent the will. I'm curious thought, what are some good compatible bluetooth headsets for HTC TC? What are the bad ones? ....using Murato Radio and Original Rom!!!! Or any other radio/Rom combo!
I have seen a post on headsets/stereo music/phone thread. But not one with a specific list of compatible headsets.
I'm asking because I'm trying to figure out if my brand new (one week old) device have a bad bluetooth problem or do I need another headset. Currently using Plantronics Voyager 510, and I cant go 3 feet without it getting choppy and static, sound quality is f**k*d up!!!!
So I will post first: Plantronics Voyager 510 ....NOPE!!
Just be sure and purchase from a place that allows returns if you're not happy with them. Find some you like on your own.

Jabra JX10 Series II: Works well
I love my Jabra BT620S
well i have a Plantronics Voyager 510 and have been using it first with Artemis and now with Polaris and i have to say its THE BEST heatset i have ever used (and there have been many!)
good up to 15m and sound perfect.... you have something wrong either with the headset you have or your Polaris
I'm currently using Philips SHB9000. At first signt, it pairs but no headset icons on the top bar (which means all the sound goes through the speakerphone).
Using BTAudio, sound gets redirected to the headset (still no headset icon) but quality is awful, using HomeScreen PlusPlus UI A2DP option the icon appears and sound is incredibly good.
I was using Murata radio/udK R8 when I bought it one week ago. Changing radio or ROM did not change anything so either it is OS or headset related.
Regarding your choppy sound, try this method (especially for Plantronics Voyager 510) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2533699&postcount=13, this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2533699&postcount=14 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1317007&postcount=18

Thanks for the resource everyone. I appreciate the response and the help.
I purchased the Plantronics Discovery 655, and guess what? The exact same thing is happening. I still get choppy reception at times.
though I have noticed it is slightly better then the previous headset. And people who I'm tallking to say that I sound alot more clearer.
My conclusion, now, my phone has a bad radio. Either the bluetooth hardware is jacked...or my radio is horrible.
What do you guys think?
BTW i purchased it from a website and I didnt get any warranty on it.
So I called HTC and complained about my bluetooth connection. The lady (valerie) told me that as long as it works, they are not interested in the quality of the connection. After complaining a little more, I ended with the conclusion that I have to test alot of headsets until I find the right one. So to add to this thread:
Good connection will be defined as, "clear crispy hearing on both ends, no static and choppy sounds, and the ability to walk away at most 6 feet (maybe 3 meters) from the phone and still maintain sound quality connection with the phone: Good connection".
So those who have post already with their headset, can you repost to determine if you have "Good connection". My only purpose for this is to purchase this time the "right" headset instead of numerous returns to the store to find the perfect one.
Jabra JX10 series II
Jabra BT6210S
Phillip SHB9000
Do all of these fit the Good Connection definition?
Thanks for all who have post. I truly appreciate your help. You are helping me save money and time!!!!
Yes, JX10 series II: Good connection (FYI, not sure about the series I, as there are some firmware changes that happened.)
I think I can say that Phillip SHB9000 has out-of-the-box a fairly good connection (did not test the 3 meters test yet and had natively choppy sound before the registry modification) with my TC.
After the reg modification it has a good connection (still did not checked the 3 meters connection but I never get disconnected), but it can't be compared to the 2 Jabras at it is really dedicated to listening to music (covers almost all your ears). It is the first time I'm buying that type of headset and it is really a different world than usual headsets (intra auricular or in-ear). The sound is clear and all details are present.
The only drawback compared to the other is obviously the size...
BTW, disconnection problem with Jabra headsets could be solved by HTC official Bluetooth fixes (as one has been especially made for them) and BT disconnection is also relying to the ROM version.

Jabra BT8040
I use the Jabra BT8040. It has as major advantage that it not only supports the handsfree profile, but also wireless 'stereo' (A2DP), so I'm able to listen to music on the headset too.
thanks muyz
after applying the patches from HTC's website, my Jabra BT500 works pretty good. the issues before were addressed and it works fine now as a hands free in the car headset.
i have tested it while walking and talking and something strange i've never encountered: crackling noise. it's as if i was on a wired set with bad wires. as soon as i stop moving, the connection is back to normal. strange. this is why i said it's great for in car connection since the phone and your head will stay relatively static.
looking for a new headset myself actually.
Hi,
I'm using the Jabra BT3030 which also support A2DP for my music listening. After I applied the bluetooth fix from the htc website it's working flawlessly, with no loss of connection as it did before the patch. Very happy with it.
what does the Jabra BT3030 look like? Is it jus the dog tag thing...or is it also wired or wireless plugins? Can you take a quick pic and upload?
Thanks
I tried looking online and I only see the tag piece...is that it?
i'm using Jabra BT620s - work's perfect
i had just some break's in stereo while running in traffic (maybe caused by other BT devices from cars?) - so I changed A2DP setting in SKTools and now it's perfect
strongly recomend
slightly off topic, but what are the registry hacks people keep mentioning
I have 8 cruises for my company's engineers and all of them are moaning about the carkit connections. We have applied the hot fixes and they are still generally rubbish
a selection of the carkits ;
nokia ck 7w
motorola HF 850
focus c-max bluetooth in car
Auidi bluetooth in car
various jabra headsets
motorola HS 800
Keeps cutting out. poor/ tinny sounding, mine (Moto hf 850) makes outgoing calls ok (sometimes) but takes about 15 seconds to hear voice of othter caller on incoming
???????????
Cheers

Anyone ? this phone is pants, great pda tho
…and for the HBH-DS980 ?
I have a Jabra X10 Serie II, but I want a HBH-DS980.
Is there someone who know if it works with Polaris ?
I mean, every function of the headset [playlist, list contacts, etc…].
Thanks for your feedback.
It doesn't work fully with anything, its pants !
and even when it does work fully ... it stops working when it feels like it !
bloody irrational. must be female
