Use Today Player or GSPlayer instead of windows media player. This software players have a very good bass boost and EQ. Good luck.

Thanx for the advise, tried Conductis pocket player and worked great!

Best Music Player

Hi
I have a Dopod 818 pro and thanks to Fantastic 2b rom, the bluetooth is working without any hissing sound on my bluetooth iTech R35 headsets. I think the best sound output music player are as follows.
1. 40iPlay
2. Core player
3. HTC audio player
4. TCPMP player
The one uses less cpu power is:
1. TCPMP player
2. HTC audio player
3. Core player
4. 40iPlay
Have you tried GSPlayer?

I also think GSPlayer is the best Mp3 player for Wince
I also really like the BT stereo sound quality with this new ROM. And I also use the same iTech R35 BT adapter with the HTC Audio Player. Its very nice indeed, while playing music, I can press the power button down and the music is still playing and controlable from the R35.
My only issue is that the BT most of the time cannot be enabled, from both the icon in the system tray, or from the Comm Manager. Only way to turn it on is soft reset. Very annonying..
May be any of you have a solution? It is almost perfect... after one year having the Prophet and R35.. first time I could really say the sound is good..
The best mp3 player is Mortplayer!!! and it's free...
GOt BtIO V0.5 installed with the PDAviet 4.0.0.0.4 rom, most of the time I can enable it and choose audio2bt and it works with my iTech R35

Is this headset compatible with voice dialing? I use microsoft voice control.
Thanks
Why not get some well known branded headsets like motorola s9, that comes close to the price range as well...
i dont like the headsets. i want something that can clip on my shirt, control the hd media player and plug any headphones into.
cheers
Calypso SP
Hi,
I first had the Motorola S9 which were nice, but too much bass, and after some time they completely fell apart
Now I bought the Calypso SP and they work just fine. They support Bluetooth 2.0, so you don't have those annoying pauses if the phone is not exactly behind your back, and the sound is great.
They look a bit like Princess Leia's haircut though

I've got sony ericsson HBH-DS970 and they're really excellent.
They will control next/previous track etc in the built in touchflo player but I cannot find out how to make them control Coreplayer instead. I hate the built in player and use Coreplayer for almost everything, but I've had to stop using these headphones because I can't control the tracks with them sadly. Really gutted about it.
I've got Sennheiser CX500s which sound great, but the track control & untangled wires of the bluetooth set was brilliant, and the sound was very good too.
Anyone know a decent bluetooth earbud set that works to control Coreplayer? Or a way I can fix this problem as it really sucks.
do the controls work with windows media player?

Downmix to mono audio (for headphones) possible?

I have an .avi file with a 5.1 audio stream, but the stream is messed up - most of the sound is coming out of the FR channel, because it was improperly encoded from a mono or stereo source. I can watch the video ok on a pc if I use gomplayer and set up AC3 decoder to downmix to mono - the audio from all channels is mixed and played through L and R channels of headphones.
The Question is:
Does android have an app or a plugin to downmix to mono audio, for Nexus 7?
I know Voodoo control panel can do this, but it doesn't work with N7.
I also tried a number of players -
mx player, mobo player pro, moboplayer, dice player, vplayer, rock player lite, bs player. There may have been a few more I don't recall at the moment.
None of these players have the option to downmix to mono.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
Forgive me, I'd like to bump the thread to see if anyone knows of a more elegant solution.
Try DSP Manager's Headset Virtual Room Effect and select a room type that sounds best for you. I am deaf in my left ear so I needed all my audio downmixed to mono and this did the trick.

How does choosing one of the Virtual Room Effect options downmix the sound to monaural? And which option does downmix to mono?
*bump*
I too would love mono mix sound!
Stereo-to-mono effect on Windows PC and Android
First of all, a free audio-player app called AIMP on Google Play, Android, has a Settings -> Sound -> Output -> "Mix to mono" setting, which will be useful for this need.
Secondly, while I don't know which Android app he's talking about, edditnyc is most probably right, because on a Windows PC, and depending on the sound card, you can right-click the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right corner), click Playback devices, right-click Speakers, click Properties, click the Enhancements tab (if it doesn't exist then perhaps the sound card doesn't support the feature or the latest drivers for the sound card aren't installed), scroll down and tick Headphone Virtualization. And while this does not downmix stereo or others channels to mono, it does something that emulates this effect of mixing stereo to mono on the PC; it allows you to hear sounds that are originally only playing on the left speaker, for example, on the right speaker. And to the best of my knowledge, this should work with all sound that plays from any program on the computer, including audio players, video players, and games.
Hope this helps those who need this for technical issues or for unilateral hearing loss, at least until Microsoft and Google start to recognize this need in their accessibility settings.

Dolby atmos & viper4

This refers to the eragon 2.8 rom that comes with both.
Should only one be used for best sound?
For years I have not bothered with anything like this as I used the poweramp app which comes with its own sound settings that I've been happy with. Can I get better sound using Dolby or viper?
What are your opinions on this?
Both drivers can provide a much better audio if you equalize them correctly.
I prefer viper because you can have a different profile for the speaker, headhones and usb/bluetooth.
With atmos, if you equalize correctly for the speaker, when you listen through the headphones it's messed up with a lot of bass and i end up turning atmos off and on.

Do you use the music player that came with eragon?
If you use a different music player app that has its own eq/tone settings, should I leave them flat/0?

I am talking about Spotify for music, speaker ok but if a play it in my car's bluetooth audio is a mess.
I noticed same behaviour with youtube in speaker/headphones (can't play youtube in my car yer )
I think best equalizer profile for the speaker has a 'U' form.

Audio passthrough (DTS, Dolby Digital)

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has managed to get Audio Passthrough working. So if you've got a movie file which has DTS or Dolby Digital sound, and you connect your phone with a HDMI dongle to your Audio receiver which can process DTS or Dolby Digital, to actually get surround sound out of it.
I've tried VLC and MX player, none worked. If I connect the exact same equipment to my laptop, it does work. So it must be either the video apps or the phone. I've tried multiple settings in the apps (of course I've enabled audio passthrough), didn't change anything.
Any help on this?
Thanks!

Alright but that's no surround sound. You're using a DAC which outputs stereo sound to a 3.5mm jack and a stereo headphones ...
I asking same question, do you find the solution now? I want to use smartphone to do audio passthrough to amplifier
