Other suggestions for a good BT carkit?
ps: this was the response I got back fro them:
Dear Customer,
Thanks for your enquiry.
Our MHF-R220BT does not have the internal memory.
Therefore, MHF-R220BT uses the voice-dialing feature from the phone. The
user must set up the voice-dialing feature in the phone first.
Per our instruction, press the SEND button for two seconds and then announce
the name of the contact after hearing the beep.
As far as we know, you should not have a problem using the voice-dialing
feature with the QTEK9100 phone.
Best regards,
Sales Team

Does anyone out there know of any phone software for "PPC 2003 Phone Edition " that tracks call duration over time? Another words like on Nokia phones, i would like to see how many outgoing and ingoing calls I made for the month and then can reset those totals to zero at the end of a billing cycle. Extra cool software would actually have user adjustable "Primetime" and "Evenings and Weekends" time slot settings.
I know in Pocket PC 2003 Phone software, I can look at the "Call Duration" tab in the device manager. In the least, would anyone know where in the registry to hack that back to zero on a monthly basis?
Thanks,
Dano

I am experiencing this problem in all versions of ROMs tested so far. Even in the original ATOM WM5 ROM.
The problem is when I call somebody, who is already in another conversation and have his call waiting feature enabled, I can't sense it from my mobile. I don't get any ringing tones either. It just remain silent and keep showing in the display "Dialing...". Just seems like its searching hard for the network...
I think other ATOM users are also facing the same problem. Have anyone sense it? Any solution on this problem?

I think it is normal if you are calling someone with the call waiting feature enabled, we won't hear anything either engaged tone or ringing tone as our calls in waiting/queue mode. Only he/she will hear the beep sound stating that someone is calling.
Me too,
I'm come from Bangkok, Thailand and All Rom i ever install is at the same problem (WM5 Original, WM5 O2asia, WM6 Charteux last edition, WM6 Charteux current edition)
Problem is sometime calling, It just no any sound at all and keep showing "Dialing" and may be nothing happen (may be freeze or long wait) when press end key on screen or hangup button. But i don't sure about the reach is busy or cann't connect (Used to ask my friend that his call is busy when i'm calling, he told not) Sometime cann't reach the network, it could happen again, It's seem better when use WM6 (Can ending, not wait for long time)
Is it may be radio ROM?? Or Bug??
Thanks marinic to bringing the issue up.
All my friends using ATOM and me too is facing the problem from the very first ROM to till today the latest ROM of Jiggs.
All other devices show status Waiting while ATOM show status Dialing.
Is this a problem of DialPad or anything else.
Does anyone have any solution. Please inform....
Thanks guys for your responses.
For clarification to powerwoot, my experience so far with call waiting from other handsets like Nokia, Motorola, Sony-Ericsson is the display shows a message "Call Waiting..." and then ringing tone is played. So I come to know that other party is busy with some other conversation.
Hope I make you all understand the problem. For your information this feature worked perfectly in O2 XDA II mini with the official ROM.
Regards,
Marinic.
Bosses...
Why silent? is it very much tough for you guys? Can anybody explain the problem technically in more details??
Best regards.
yes
you are right i have the same problem
is there any way to have the user notified of the status of the party that you are calling?
ie/ if i make a call, and it will display "call waiting..." when i'm trying to reach someone on the other end...
I have a WM6 device. Thanks
This may help...
Hi,
Go to Start>Settings>Phone in Services tab set the settings for Call Waiting to Notify me.
I am not sure, but it may help cause I get status Busy... now at least.
its problem with all windows mobile....
Hi all !
I just joined xda..cheers to everybody here !
I bought a brand new p500 a few days ago, and coming from very simple nokia phone to android is quite a jump..however no worries or problems, just getting used at it.
However...
I fail to understand how and if voice dial works - some websites state it does, others it doesn't. As a matter of fact, no matter which language I choose, I cannot see how to use it.
My old nokia was very simple: pre-recorded name or nick was pointing to single numbers, and by pushing the BT headset button and saying the name was triggering the call.
Now, with android it seems to be at light years from here.. is anybody able to clarify how to do it ?
Thanks in advance
ps: this is a pretty basic functionality android should have for business users.
My experience with Android phones (myTouch 3G Slide, Samsung Vibrant, now LG Optimus T) is that while advanced in some areas, voice dialing is not one of them.
That said, my Optimus T voice dials OK over Bluetooth. I had to go to the settings under Voice Input and Output and download the Text-to-Speech resources. Then, it will give voice prompts. It works with my Jabra BT8040 just like on my Blackberry. I hold the button on the headset down until I get the second beep. Then wait for the prompt and say "Call So-and-so" It will then respond with "So-and-so mobile one calling."
It hasn't been as accurate as my Blackberry 9700, but it works if I speak clearly. Also, the voice prompts are too low in volume and I havent figured out how to fix that.
i only have google voice search in my optimus one. by pressing and holding searh button.
how can you voice dial?
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, all appears correctly configured but I see no mic icon in the contacts app in any of the four tabs. Pressing the button on my BT headset does nothing except a short funny sound (with my old Nokia it meant something like "wait for connection"). Holding the same button places a call to the last incoming call number (or last outgoing one).
btw, I'm in Italy - wonder if the reason is language related. I can't be 100% sure, however, because even by setting language to English (U.S.) situation remains the same..
Hope that some android developer is reading this ..
Hi to all
I'm looking for a cheap-ish, reasonable spec., probably secondhand Android phone for my daughter which must be capable of video (pref. 2 way) Skype-type calls via wifi.
It won't be having any kind of SIM (PAYG or contract) in it initially, but must function as Skype-type video phone via wifi - unless someone tells me that's not possible! I can put my own O2 SIM in it if necessary to set up whatever needs doing to make it function.
So...some questions please:-
Is it possible to set up a phone in this way? (ie. to be able to make & receive Skype-type video calls without having a SIM card in it)
If it is - how exactly do I do it?
Should I use Skype as a carrier or are there other providers who would do the job better/easier?
Which Android phones will best do the job?
Many many thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers

well my recommendation is HTC Desire with it you can have high quality resolution video calling and it on a reasonable price too
Any further thoughts from anyone..?
I realise I'll need a device with a front-facing camera in order to have 2 way voice and video, but I would very much appreciate some advice as to whether what I want to do is possible and, if so, how!
Many thanks
Hi all,
Im brandnew to XDA, using Samsung S3 GT-I9300 since July, 2012.
Android Version: 4.3
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-2735602
Have two low-tech questions, didn't find them posted in this forum.
Question 1:
When quitting a call connection by pushing the "red phone button" the normal way, I have to wait for some 5-6 seconds of time, until the keyboard re-appears on the screen (in order to dial another phone number). This is quiet boring, over time... Is there a way, a setting, to shorten this waiting time? How to?
Question 2:
After establishing a voice call connection, I must push the "green speaker button" additionally, if I want to enable the speaker into surrounding loud mode. Is there a way to set this "environmental loud mode" by default, to the Samsung S3? So I haven't to choose this option manually, everytime after dialing. Would greatly welcome an option to set this behaviour to default, for all incoming phone calls, too.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Max
Any Idea?
Please help me somehow, helpful comment appreciated.
Is there no solution to these two issues?
Thanky.
Please let me know
Please, would you mind, posting any helpful information.
Even if there is NO solution at hand.
How should I interpret "no reply" at all?
No interest, stupid question, wrong forum, no solution available, just anything else... except conclusive information.
