I'm looking for any text web browser for my XDA, something like links or lynx are for unix world. I use GPRS connection and I don't want to download images and other multimedia from internet because of high cost.
Do you know any text web browers for Pocket PC?

Im looking for a server side proxy product to improve web browsing. I would host my own proxy server at home on my broad band connection.
This proxy server would be esp designed for PPC browsing. It would change the resolution of images etc to match the PPC resolution creating a quicker browsing expreance on my XDA. I would also need a feature where the images could be viewed at full resolution as desired. I did find a company providing the service but they wanted an expensive yearly rate. Any ideas people?
Apple appears to have started a trend for Internet apps (because it lacks Flash) but I find using the Boat Browser in Desktop mode is better than using an app and there is no need to have loads of different apps for each Website.
For example, I use the Boat browser for email, BBC iPlayer, STV Player, TV Catchup, eBay, Amazon, etc in the same way as IE on Windows on my laptop.
I find the Boat browser Speed Dialer and Password Manager are great for loading and logging-into Websites and you get the full Windows desktop experiance.
Also, the Android home screen can now be used for just non-Internet shortcuts for the Internet shortcuts are saved in the Boat browser Speed Dialer.

hi there, i wanna access websites which are internet explorer specific sites, they don't open correctly in firefox, chrome, safari, opera or any other browser,
and i don't want just to change User Agent to desktop, it doesn't work. even on desktop pc those sites only work correctly on internet explorer.
so is there anything that can help to access those sites?
one example of those sites is my phone network's free sms sending website, which can only be accessed correctly from internet explorer, so i can't send sms through my mobile from that site, i need to use internet explorer on my pc
isn't it possible if someone port it from windows mobile ?
Is there a better browser available than Opera Mini? Free is preferable but will look at paid ones?
Nobody uses anything but Opera or just does not use a Web browser?
The only choice seems to be Opera. But that's a bad choice since it is proxying all requests. Gear S does not connect to the requested site directly. Instead, it connects to Opera servers which act as a proxy server.
Anyone up for writing a usable Web browser or modifying another one?

None of the PHP comparable web servers for Android seem to work in Oreo... but I'm not serving to the WWW anyway.
I'm looking for a browser to host a php app locally.
Is there a suggestion?
