Just put your PDA in the cradle and run setup_617.exe and wait for 45-60 mins.
Then your XDAII is updated....

Having problems
I get a message from the installer something like this : This upgrade is not designed to work for your ROM or something like that.
Remember i have a TSM500 ( XDA II ) with a 1.72.03ESN ROM . I need to change the windows language into english.It seems like nothing works. Sometimes i get the error : country code ID wrong or something.Does anyone know what this is about?

ive got an o2 xda2 , not sure what version rom it has on it, but i want to upgrade it to the latest orange version as i use it on orange and would like all the orange settings and stuff. also will it fix the bluetooth problems?

If you need more help, I have added your MSN address in my one!
I have only orange CH settings, so the best to do is:
Load the old ROM (original one, maybe 1.66), install Extendet_ROM tools you can find on XDA site, export from the phone Extendet ROM those *.cab whos name are ORANGE on your PC Harddisk.
Install the new ROM (maybe 1.72), repeat the step whit extendet ROM and put in the Extendet ROM of the phone those ORANGE *.cab you extracted in the Harddisk, after that you can just go in the Extendet ROM of the phone and Tap on those cab file, otherwise, in the Extedet_ROM of the phone is a file "config.txt", edit this one, add line whit cab name. So, if you make a Hardreset of your phone it will install also Orange settings.
This last one woulb be the better way if one time you make a hardreset.
I hope this is clear Enought, because my english isn't the best!

did upgrade with this rom and everything is ok... but VC 1.5
each time i start it, it says Vc has encountred a problem , restart it and retry.
I also noticed that VC settings has now an "activated " and "pswd protected" check box. the problem is that, if i toggle the activated checkbox and klick ok , it won't stay toggled .

i have xda Zinc with chinese rom CHT_RC4070131 and now i want change to english rom.i 'm already have english rom Zinc_WWE_RC4070131_3 i try to upgrade but it does'nt acept it has mesage " cross language upgrade is not allowed.please ensure the upgrade tool language is same as the default language of your device ".someone has ideas please show me how to upgrade it.Thanks

I have the same problem keep on to o2 but they cant give me an answer ill keep you updated if you can do the same, as far as i can work out windows dont support cross language on their os with other languages you have to get it done in the shop my problem is i would have to send it half way round the world for this to be done its crazy from o2 to release the upgrade when people from around the world are experiencing the send problem

Please check your phone do they have any sim/phone lock if yes try to search the Hard flash SPL V7 maybe this software can help.
Remark: I never use this software and you can go to HTC forum and ask the expert

just run the rom upgrader and in the first page click next button then connect the zinc...
the software may confuse
in this case it will write unknown device
then tap the update key

99% of O2 Atom life in Saudi Arabia has the problem of
( ERROR : customer or model Id Error ) while updating any of the new roms from O2 web page .
after my deep investigation about this issue i found this : on boot load screen it tells USB detected ( while its not connected to the usb cable ) and you can not run any function inside the boot loader screen , although the great service center team in Saudi don't know how to fix this problem .
it will be really highly appreciated cause it will not help only me to fix my device but lots of other users have the same problem .
When you get into the Welcome screen of DSUU, open X:\Windows\Temp\pass.32 (where X is your computer's system disk) with an hex editor, and you will surely find something valuable

There are 3 characters in pass.32 that is related to the identification process, like "WWE", "CHT" or something else. For example, if you want to flash an English ROM into a traditional Chinese device, just change it from WWE to CHT. I don't have ROMs in other languages, so I don't know what language codes stand for others.

Use something like WinHex...
did the language modifecation with winhex , WWE / ARA but still having the same problem with the same error message
Well... I don't know much about that... Hope somebody will help you in advance...
You can give another try... Do not change language code, do not enter bootloader and run DSUU directly when you synchronized the device using ActiveSync with your PC.
i have the same problem here and as hero said lots of us in saudi arabia cant upgrade with the same problem

well, welcome on board and good you chose a niki rather than some other device ;-)
.) first make sure your phone is unlocked - if not search for unlock tool.
.) if it is unlocked - proceed with this to get another bootloader.
.) once finished you can choose a rom from netrunner and flash whatever niki rom you want.
this should be enough for the moment for you to start getting familiar with the niki. please do not expect the community to be a place where you get everything without reading through the articles. i am sure everyone is delighted to help when you do have a specific problem which has not occured before - but not if one is too lacy to read ;-)

This site is free, and yes, you have to do all the work. Otherwise, you pay and let someone else do the work for you.

Pls i need help !! i try change language on my touch dual, but now the fone displays rainbow kcolours ,it happen during flashing and stop at 99% ,
i repeat the same procedue it start and stop at 1%
now it still remains at rainbow colours .
Pls i need help to solve this problem .

The rainbow colours is the bootloader screen. Flashing will fail is the phone is locked to a provider, ie CID locked. You will need to get the original rom that your phone had and flash that to rescue it. Post a general request for the provider's ROM, or do a search to see if it has been posted.

get your phones original rom put that back on next
make sure you have hardspl 1.22 on
