Sorry for the noob question, but I'm new to bluetooth car-kits and just having gotten one I was wondering if it was possible to have the car-kit announce who was calling...??
Something like using Voice Commander but instead of it using the phones speaker to say who is calling, to send that audio down to the bluetooth the car-kit. You'd think it would be possible since it can send down audio once the call is connected?
If not Voice Commander, any other software that anyone knows of that does this, (if it can be done)?
Anyone know the Bluetooth spec enough to know if it’s possible, (maybe to write the app ourselves?)

Hi: This flie is from Eten x500.
After install the .cab file, go to setting>sound , and then there is third tab available. check the box to enable the sound redirect to earphone.
However, this does not work with the HTC phones.
Can anyone hack this file to make it work on HTC??
Thanks
I'm also looking for program with same functionality (changing front/back speaker sound routing), I know it's not simple task and I even wrote pm to Superdave about it because he wrote sound routing dll for widcomm drivers and probably knows most about sound routing in hermes. Unfortunatelly I didn't get any answer, probably he don't have time to make such feature.
Can anyone hack these files?
Did anyone ever get anywhere with this? I Would love to have Skype on the earphone.
I read somewhere here that this was not possible. The front ear speaker is hardware didicated to the cellular service (or something like that). If it where possible or someone had done it I'm sure it would be a sticky.
I'd just be happy if I could get Skype to work on with my bluetooth.
Maybe some guy can have a look at the SkypeSettings.exe and SkypeSettings.dll files from Eten.
From what I saw, it only deals with the WAV1: device. No more devices are listed. Probably it captures the audio from it and than sends it to front speaker.
It does not run on my PDA. The settings tab also appears grayed out, so the app know it is not an Eten.
Unfortunately I could not debug the file on my device, given that IDA does not work on WM6, but probably both files have a check for Eten device, and if it is of a different brand the apps terminate.
Dumb question, but when you use the sip client on a Hermes, what speaker does the call come out of?

I have found out that the there is a program that routes the Skype audio output to bluetooth: "BT Audio" has been working for me for the past couple of years now since I had the Hermes. Also has worked with the last couple of BT's that I have used and its free. In my Settings>Remove Programs it shows up as: "TP.com BT Audio" I hope this helps.
And yeah it would be great to have Skype transmit via earphone...

Hi
I've seen many threats about Answering machine, and Voice call recording.
I've understand that the Voice call "mechanism" does not work along with the operating system, so the WM does not "aware" for that calls.
(If there is a solution for that, except speaker, I'm sorry for bothering you guys... I Haven't found one, please link me)
But
I've read threats that it is possible to use Bluetooth headset as microphone, and it is possible to hear music through it...
I Think that the OS can analyze the Bluetooth activity, and record voice calls through it.
What do you think?
Are you talking about the Hermes specifically? If you do, then please consider the fact that the Hermes has been available for almost two years. If call recording was possible, wouldn't there be software available by now?
(I am not counting those few products that rely on the microphone picking up the callers voice.)
Is it possible to use the tablet S (paired to a driod X) as a speaker phone in the same manner as as using a bluetooth headset?

I think headsets were designed specifically to act as bluetooth speakers with your phone and contain all the necessary hardware and software to do such. Your tablet s has no such hardware or software; yes, it has bluetooth, but it is not designed to operate that way. Maybe if somebody wrote a software program to do it, it could, but for the mean time, no your tablet will not work as a speaker for your phone.
I have been able to pair my droidx with the tablet, but not much else. Has anyone been able to stream or transfer files between the two?

I use FileExpert for it. Rightclick on file --> Share via Bluetooth
Rarely use Bluetooth tho, mostly ftp share (also possible with FE)

Well I'm sure thats not what u meant, but its the only way afaik. U could get urself an online number (e.g. Swype) and just forward all calls from ur droid X to this number.
Works fine, but I was told the caller didnt understand me as clear as he did with my phone's speaker turned on.
not the answer to the OP's question, but its the answer to the thread question is
GrooveIp
set up your google voice number to use google talk as one of you forwarding phone numbers,
the sign into groove ip.
free calls over wifi
this should be a sticky somewhere mods
Hi All,
I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best Bluetooth headset to do hands free dialing?
I want to be able to dial in the car hands free. In other words, no unlocking, no interaction at all with my phone. It should dial, by voice, while locked. Perhaps there is a headset with a button to press where it then activates a "listening" functionality? Or perhaps you say a specific word? And I would also appreciate additional command abilities, like having it read my e-mail or texts to me, and dictating emails.
All I know is what I want it to do. I have never had a bluetooth headset before. I have been waiting for this functionality. I also would appreciate the highest call quality possible, while keeping cost reasonable. I'd be ready to spend up to $100 if needed but a bit less would be nice.
Mainly I'm wondering if you can use just any headset with handsfree dialing.. or if you need a "special" one like Motorola's CommandOne or Finiti. I don't understand why you would, though, because isn't that somehow built into Android? it has voice dialing and voice recognition and voice commands, after all... So I don't need one of those special headsets right? Or do I?
Also I want to keep Bluetooth off until I need it. I guess that can be solved by just getting some TecTiles and having one in my car where when I bump it, it turns on Bluetooth. Perhaps that could somehow help also, in terms of perhaps activating some type of listening dialer? Or Google commands? S-Voice? What does everyone think the BEST solution would be in terms of A) not using battery (I don't have a car charger...yet..) and B) the BEST voice recognition for dialing..I want the correct dial the first time >90% of the time .. is this possible?
Thank you all for any input or thoughts...
Hi,
I got a problem that my Samsung Galaxy S5 route all audio to earphones.
I would like to route all media to speaker and all phonecalls to headset (and if possible bluetooth).
I don't mind customizing ROM if needed.
Any idea how can I do that?
Thanks!
Help?
first: ask with understandable words. lol i don't know what are ur plans
i know this is really old but to anyone having these issues, install soundabout you can use it to force audio to a certain output for calls, media, ect really helps when your headphones start to break and android doesnt want to detect them even though they work
EDIT: I misunderstood the last post as a question. Didn't mean to repeat the same answer to an old thread.
Not really a full answer but I am currently having similar issues. There seem to be audio routing apps like Audio Router (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=audiomix.audiooutputsource) and SoundAbout (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix) than can do the job. I can't exactly tell how they work but maybe someone else knows. Or you'll figure it out.
Feel free to post your results
Have the same problem. But neither Audio Router (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ooutputsource) nor SoundAbout (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...oneroutingfix) can't route SMS notification away from headphones.
Sounds terrible. Most modern android smartphones are worse in this regard than ordinary simple cell-phones.
I wonder how things are in this regard in Windows Background.
