hi all,im trying to upgrade my XDA II from 2.06 to 2.20 but I am showing no extended rom after upgrading to 2003se all my o2 software has disappeared and I have no camera software anymore. Did I do something wrong? after upgrading,hard reset and my PDA "freezing"!!! if i soft reset again its normally but there's no EXTENDED ROM.....if i upgrade again...still the same.......please help me.................

ExtROM version: 1.66.165
Can I upgrade my ROM to version 1.72?
What file shall I use?
How do I upgrade?
Will upgrading affect my settings with the service provider, GLOBE
TELECOMS?
Shall I wait for O2 to release their updated ROM for Asia?

yes you can... its up to you if you want to wait for the official O2 release, or if the hard reset keeps on bugging you, you can upgrade it using the official IMATE release... but you should save the provider settings and all.. or either that, or call up your operator for the GPRS settings.

Thanx Waxx! I'll try it tom. I hope it will solve the hard reset bug that I've been reading and experiencing. I've noticed that most of us who get unexpected hard resets have ROM ver 1.66WWE. O2 is really unfair for being silent on this topic.
One last question, what will the O2.cab do? Just restore the O2 startup screen? Will the new ROM 1.72 have "autoconfig" program? Can I use autoconfig to setup GPRS and Internet?

im not familiar with congfiguration... because mine didnt have the auto configuration.. im thinking that youre referring to auto configuration for the asian ROMs for the settings?? if that is so, then im afraid that upon upgrading, you wont have the autoconfiguration option. this is because you are upgrading your ROM with an imate 1.72 (another provider) and it is based on UK.. so i guess no asian autoconfig. if ever there would be an autoconfig button, im sure it would be of the european providers. but i really dont see an autoconfig button.
as always exercise extreme caution when upgrading...when you put in the 1.72 rom downgrading will be difficult...beware :shock: :shock: beware :shock: you might end up having more than you bargained for. :wink:
regarding the hard resets; you may want to perform another hard reset but don't install any programs / apps. run the unit as it is; "naked" and without any new stuff installed. if the phone still hangs then go for the upgrade. if not; well as the thread says it's your choice :wink:

As I am using XDA II for 2003se which is 2.0600WWE downloaded in this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16880). The radio is 1.18 and the bootloader is 1.01. As I can upgrade my rom from 2003 to 2003se without any problem, I would like to upgrade it to WM5 in these few days.
However, I face some problems in my updating.
I have try XDA_WM2k5_2.01a64WWE, XDA_WM2k5_2.01a00WWE, however, I cannot search the phone network after upgrade rom. As I have read some posts before, I know that there may be my radio's problem, so I upgrade my radio also. I have try 1.17, 1.18, 1.08 with these rom. Unlucky, it also cannot search phone network.
So. for the only solution is get back 2003se with "Asia O2 XDA II WM 2003 SE Upgrade" in this forum. I can get my network back.
As the result, I would like to ask that what problem am I facing and what can I do? Is it the problem of bootloader ? or the problem of radio?
And also, there have "Asia upgrade" for WM5? It helps me a lot and I need not to afraid the networking problem.
Please help me. .

How to master reset the xda2 phones?
My Himalaya phone can't syncro in my computer. During installation of system there is a information message "103 Cannot find rom." I also try to hard reset, but the existing operating system which windows mobile 2005 cannot change only the date.

Hi there i just buy a O2 mini s phone but i have many signal problems sometimes I receive call sometimes no and my problems are just for that with the signal and phone, my Rom version is 2.25.11.1 WWE and Radio 02.25.11 with wm5 and I have noticed that in the main screen theres the cingular icon the x with the circle upside is this normal in this phone? i mean is it the correct rom? because i looked at pictures in internet and they have the O2 logo in the phone but this one just appear in the begining can someone please recomend me a radio version for my phone thanks for all and sorry for my bad english.
