I put some new sounds via bluetooth into my media folder on my internal SD. However the system does not seem to recognize them, is there a way to rescan or remount the internal SD without having to plug it into a computer?

How do I get this phone to show up as a Usb drive when I plug it into a pc? I know you can view files as a mtp device but when I tried it with a winxp machine it only shows the internal sd and not the external. Also at times I couldn't view files at all when plugged in as mtp.
i am talking about on rooted devices for sure. but is it in any way possible to mount a virtual drive so that i could say. get my media player to detect my FTP server when set up to appear to be a external drive with the likes of USB drive or External SD card.
hope to hear from someone on this ?
Does anybody know how to connect the GN II as mass storage for my SD card? I only see options of Media and Camera connections.
I see it in Windows Explorer as internal and external storage however does not show up when you get the pop-up for windows to be read as a drive.
When you connect as a media device I only see Media and Camera device listed too, and have a check for media (says for transfer media files to windows etc....)
You'll be using MTP now rather than mass storage, IIRC. Windows Explorer should still see it as a disk device so it will behave similar in most respects.
same here, but I can't get my laptop (windows 7) to open as mtp or camera, no matter which I chose?
I downloaded the samsung phone drivers I cant get my computer to recognize it. Windows 7 any help?
Make sure you are using a compatible cable, they are not all the same.
Has anyone else noticed that their SD card is no longer accessible via the native file explorer, nor does it appear when connected to a PC? I had previously loaded a bunch of music onto it from the PC, and the music app can still access that. However, since the 32.3.A.2.33 update, the SD card is no longer accessible - it doesn't appear as a separate drive when the phone is connected via USB. Instead, I can only access the onboard storage.
