Problem With Himalaya - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

My Mobile Screen is blank and is not turning on. It happened by it self, I was not upgrading nor charging. Only thinking I can tell is that when ever I'm charging it is showing RED light instead of Yellow. If I remove the battery and put it on cardle to charge, cardle will show that the battery is Full by GREEN Light.
I hope it can be fixed. Would appreciate if some one can help me ASAP.
Thankx in advance

try softreset
try hardreset
try leaving the batt out for a long time

I tried all that but still same. Neither Soft nor Hard reset or taking the battery out. Nothing on the screen, its blank.

Unfortunely i having the same problem, i suspect the backup battery problem ....

how do we change the backup battery?
can we do it by ourselves/non-professionals?
what type is the backup battery?
Where can we order from?
I am also having the same problem, perhaps someone can shed some light?
thanks,
J.

1. Yes you can change the backup batt by youselves. You'll need to unsolder two contacts from the mainboard
2. Bat. type is Maxell ML2016T17
3. Do not know where to order (here in Russia it to hard to find such type of the backup battery).

But can we be sure that the problem is in the backup battery. Because I have the same problem, I am unable to start my hima, and when I try hard reset or soft reset the screen just lits white and stays white for 15seconds, and if I put it on a craddle, it stays lit for 3 minutes (these are the values I had set in the power management). Other than that, and the yellow led light showing that the hima is charging, I'm unable to do anything at all. I am not even able to clean the registry hive (by pressing camera, record and reset button) nor even enter bootloader mode(d-pad, power button and reset)
Just as I'm typing, the yellow led light in the corner turns green, telling me that my battery is full. And that's it
I'm all ears and eyes guys, thanks,
J.

No this is not a backup battery problem 100%.
Seems that something wrong with the screen and connection of the screen to a motherboard. You can try to disassemble your Hima and check the screen connection.
Some question(s) to identify you problem?
Are you able to create a connection with activesync while hima is in craddle?

I sent my hima to a service repair center to check the soldering on the mainboard. It's not an authorized repair center, as there's none in Macedonia, it's a place for repairing digital cameras and stuff. It's the place where they changed my bottom connector few months ago, so I thought that the problem might be in the connector soldering (something loossened or something) but , I was told yesterday that the hardware seems ok and there's no problem whatsoever with the connectors and the m/b. This is how it all started:
My problem started a week after I upgraded to tofclock's 2k5 2.01wwe, and after altering the shell.exe file and the registry in order to get the clock shown in the title bar instead of the battery indicator. So after couple of days enjoying the 2k5, one morning my phone turned off, and I couldn't power it. I tried soft reset, tried hard reset, nothing. So I thought I should reflash it, but I couldn't enter b/l mode. I try leaving the battery out for some time (couple of hours) and when I place it back, the screen turns on, just a plain white light for about 15 seconds, and then turns off again. If I try hard reset, the screen lights up again (white screen, no image or anything) and after 15 seconds turns off and so on. I noticed that when the screen lights up after hard reset, if I place the hima in the cradle, the white screen stays on for 3 minutes, and this was exactly my settings in the power management(15seconds on battery, 3 mins on craddle), and the led light in the upper right corner is yellow, and after some time, it turns to green, as in battery charged. Active sync doesn't recognize the phone, I can't get serial screen, and nothing other than what I described in this post. I've tried hundreds of times the entire procedure, but nothing still.
Any ideas. Thanks,
J.

Latest news:
After many attempts to enter b/l, I wasn't successful. Now I placed the device in the cradle, the screen turned white as usual, the amber light turned on, and I received a message in the system tray in my pc the a new hardware was detected, and that XP is instaling..... After that, I received a message that the new device is Windows based Mobile Device.
And then, xp created a new LAN, but , it shows a limited or no connectivity.
why is this happening? And what is happening?

the pda show up as shuch if it's ready to receive a rom from the rom upgrade

But still, when I start himaupgradeut_noid.exe I get error 101, connection error
Note that I only get ehite blank screen, and not serial v1.06/usb v1.06, like I had before my last upgrade to 2k5. perhaps the b/l is corrupted or something?
cheers,
J.

hi guys,

on the right side of your device is a little hole.
Your stylus has a pointy end.
Put the pointy end of your stylus into the hole, press softly untill you feel a "click".
Behold, the device reboots.
For future references, its called Resetting a device..

Soft SPL is put to MEMORY, it's not FLASHED.
Rebooting the device will clear the memory.
Thus removing the sSPL.
Try pulling your battery for a few minutes.
Then put it back again and boot the device.

yes done all that nothing yet just some white screen always on can hear background noices of the phone ,the leds working like normal
please help i love my wizard its been 3 days now my coldrx turkey is very hard now
That's odd... if he can hear the phone start menu going on... maybe you can do it again (use sSPL to flash another ROM). Maybe that will work?
Could it have something to do with DROPPING HIS PHONE instead of the sSPL?
Because the sSPL isn't flashed as I said many times before, it is in MEMORY, not flash..
new screen
i put the new screen in same white screen tested the screen in mda(pic inclosed) so nothing to do with screen

could you give us more details?
-device (G3/G4)
-what you did (exactly) before you got this white screen.
It is a 8125 (G4) that is unlocked.
I created a ROM from one of the kitchens, and flashed it ... White Screen.
WOO HOO!!! GOT IT!!!
Steps to recovery:
1. Fully charge your phone (VIA Power Cord ... NOT USB)
2. Get the phone to bootloader (three color mode) - by soft resetting and holding the camera button at the same time
2. Connect it to the computer (Windows XP) with a USB cable
3. You will notice "USB" written in a lower corner of the phone (this means it is connected)
4. Download your providers ROM (The "real" rom provided by Cingular/ATT). You can get the one for the 8125 from HTCAmerica here: http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8125/software-downloads.html
5. Stop ActiveSync (from Task Manager)
6. Run the program downloaded in step 4. This will reflash your phone with the ROM. This seems to be the ONLY WAY possible to reload a ROM from BootLoader.
Enjoy!

Battery blinking and functional PROBLEM

I m using an custom rom, from spike. It was working very nice. Recently a problem starts. Maybe it have nothing to do with the rom, anyway, just in case you know what rom i'm using. (Spike.Pure.ICS-v7.6)
So, the problem is, the display stops to block automatic. It only blocks if i press the power button. If non, the screen decreases the brightness and stay turned on without block and off.
The batterry icon keep blinking without show the percentage, warped, it looks like a square , sometimes it back to normal shape and sometimes its becomes a square blinking
When i plug the usb cable it back to normal, shows the percentage and recharge but It doesnt tell me when its 100% anymore, no message on status bar notification as it used to show.
When the usb is pluged the "block" seems to back to normal too, as the configuration says, 15 seconds and screen turns off.
I already tryed to reset battery stats... i let the S2 discharge completely and then i charge to 100%, wait 2 hours plus then i reseted the stats.
No deal. Reset darwin cache.. same...
Plus, it keep telling on notification bar that i'm connected as storage device even when the usb is disconected. But if i connect it to PC it works normal.
Anyone know what can it be?
1. try search function
2. faulty usb port try to clean it with a clean brush, look for more details, or it may need to be changed
this is caused by humidity (dropped in water/snow, rained in it, high humidity area where you live)

[Q] Xperia Ray Won't Turn On or Do Anything Else

Hi, so sorry for the vague thread title, but really, there's no other way to describe it. So here's what happened.
For the past few weeks (or month), my Xperia Ray has had a problem of switching on after it was put into standby mode, i.e. after i pressed the lock button. The screen would light up, however would remain blank. So all I would get is a bright black screen.
I could have lived with this for a few more months (until Xperia Z gets released in my country D: ) however this problem started getting worse. At first, after pressing the home button, the volume rockers and/or the lock button for about 20 times, the screen would turn on (finally). Despite it giving me that bright black screen, i could still operate the screen. I could still try to unlock it because of the haptic feedback on my lockscreen. I could still change music tracks on my music widget on my lockscreen. In short, the screen worked perfectly, only that it kinda wouldn't show. However, for the past week, the only way to turn it back on would be to do a battery pull and switch on the phone again. And it recently developed a problem of giving me that bright black screen again when I switch it on, causing me to do about 5 battery pulls before being able to actually use my phone again.
I did get fed up with this problem, being a heavy user of my phone. Therefore, today I decided to try to do a factory reset of my phone, intending to wipe the dalvik cache + clear all user data, thinking it might help my bright black screen problem. However, I found that I couldn't boot into recovery because all my phone would do was to give me that bright black screen again! So after many battery pulls, I managed to boot up my phone normally and do a factory reset under the backup & restore tab in settings. Of course, the phone tried to reboot itself, but of course, just gave me the bright black screen.
I kinda gave up at this point, and did many battery pulls and boots, however, all I got was either
1. the terrible bright black screen
or less frequently
2. the free xperia project logo then the terrible bright black screen.
I did get very fed up, so I plugged it into a wall socket to charge it. However, since about an hour or two ago, I realised it may be on bootloop. When I plug it into a wall socket, the free xperia project logo shows up and then an even brighter black screen shows up for about 3-5 minutes, then those two repeat endlessly. The notification light doesn't show that it's charging at all.
Okay here's background info on my phone.
- Is rooted
- Bootloader is unlocked
- CM 9.1 is installed
- Was running GO Launcher (if that helps)
- had a custom boot animation
- I think i deleted an apk for the google start up configuration thing...the one that asks if you have any google accounts you want to connect when you switch on your phone for the first time. I'll search up the correct apk name if you need it.
- Is about a year old (got it last early April)
- is a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray (in case you didn't notice haha)
- battery level was about 20%+ when I did a factory reset (terrible of me I know)
- I have tried to caliberate the battery a few months ago
That's all the background info I can think you need. Please do let me know if you need any other info. If you need the logcat text of what happens when I hit the lock button at the top of my phone and the phone gives me the bright black screen (the early stages of this problem), let me know and I'll dig it up. I think I've bricked it, but I can't boot it into recovery so I can't do anything. And I did all I could google for the bright black screen problem which I won't tire you by specifying here. Please do help me. It seems as if the worst of evils has befallen my phone. Now I'm stuck here with my phone crazily on bootloop beside me. Please please do help.
Flash stock rom
Just try flashing a stock rom with Flashtool. If the problem persists, then it could be a hardware problem. Flashing a stock ftf takes care of all software issues. Get the stock ics FTF file and place it in firmwares folder of flashtool. Start flashtool and select flash mode. Then choose your ftf and press ok. Then wait until it prompts you to connect your phone. Then, just turn off your phone, while holding the power button down attach the USB cable. The LED notification should turn green and wait until it finishes flashing.
flash extended stock kernel and then the stock ftf firmware file...
hit thanks if i helped u

Hi, if your phone can still be switched on and hasn't progressed so far in being destroyed, you could try downloading the Disable Auto Brightness app for Xperia phones from the Play Store. I've read somewhere that the screen might not turn on because of the auto brightness. I'm not sure if it actually helps, but perhaps my phone would have died faster without it. I've read of people changing their battery, doing battery calibrations or changing their screen to fix the problem. But before you change the hardware, I suggest that you check the hardware first. If the Disable Auto Brightness doesn't work, do a Nandroid backup and store the backup somewhere safe. Then flash the stock firmware to your phone and try to get it to switch on. Do flash the firmware before your phone runs out of battery because you never know, your phone may decide to refuse to charge your battery anytime. Then try to switch it on. If your phone goes into a bootloop (like mine now) really consider getting a new phone or sending it for repair or try all day to fix it if you use your phone alot. I'm still trying to fix mine.
I flashed the original firmware for my phone, tried to turn it on, was very happy when I saw the original Xperia logo, but then I realised it was on bootloop. When I tried to charge it, it immediately turns on and goes into bootloop again. Logcat doesn't detect my phone, so I can't obtain the logcat of what's happening. I haven't tried to replace the battery of my phone because I couldn't find a supplier. But I'll go on trying to fix my phone until the day that it really breaks down. Good luck with yours and keep us posted.

M5 boot stuck half-way, rest of screen black, shuts off after a min

Hi all,
I got this Xperia M5 that's been giving out warnings about memory being full and I suppose it finally gave in. It only partially boots after like a full minute of showing you those blue waves. When it 'boots' the screen is black and nothing works, except you can see the status bar with just the battery icon, no-SIM icon and the clock.
Weird thing is when the device is powered off, you can press the power button once and it'll display a large battery indicator which shows the percentage normally-- I've seen this go up from 0 to over 90 something incrementally.
But when it's 'on' the way I just described, the battery is always at 0% with a red ! next to it.
Anyway, when it's in this weird half-life mode, you can actually pull down the notification bar normally, and tap stuff as well. Flashlight works, you can see an actual WiFi list (nothing happens when you connect) etc. When you launch stuff through here though, like settings, it won't open anything. It'll make the sound as if it's launched something but the remainder of the screen will still be black.
Using the dedicated camera button, I can access the camera. It works (sort of), meaning you can see the camera display where the screen used to be black. And it immediately says "system process is not responding," so I'm guessing this is a system issue where it can't load basic stuff like the homescreen?
Whatever you do or don't do, it stops responding after a couple minutes and shuts itself off.
Stuff I've already tried:
- Safe mode (volume down + power), just 'boots normally'
- Recovery mode (volume up + power) done that for over two minutes, does nothing or just 'boots normally'
- Hold down the tiny yellow 'off' button under the SIM/SD cover, did nothing.
- Xperia Companion: PC won't recognize the phone either in that zombie state, or when it's off, so I tried 'device cannot be detected', shut phone down, held down volume down button, connected USB still holding down, waited for a while and viola, nothing happened.
It's factory OS, never messed around with it and I don't know the version (could be 5?).
Any ideas?
Guys at this point all I'm wondering is if anyone ever managed to brick a phone that's as semi-responsive as this one, in the history of bricked android phones anywhere.. I mean how could it be bricked when you can (sort of) boot and even open the camera?
you said it boots in download mode?

No I wouldn't say download, it's weird-- there's the status bar at the top and soft navigation keys at the bottom, but the homescreen in between these is black. I tried tapping this black area to see if stuff is there logically but you just can't see them, but there was no interaction, no sound or anything.
I am able to pull down the status bar to reveal the usual buttons and such, like I mentioned before you can turn on the flashlight, click to see a list of available wifis etc. But you can't access settings through here, I mean you tap settings and the main part of the screen is still black.
The only way to get the screen to work is to open the camera through its dedicated button, where the camera display works normally, you can switch cameras etc. Tried accessing the gallery through here but it didn't work.
I just don't wanna buy a new phone when this one doesn't seem bricked at all. If it like didn't respond at all and nothing appeared on the screen I wouldn't think twice before buying the first phone I see on Google.
im afraid that you have to flash stock rom again if you will boot into download/fastboot mode.but your problem seems strange.what was the last thing you have done before phone stuck like this?

Not my phone but it'd been going on about low memory for a while now. I got the PC to recognize it once in that zombie state, so I'll try that with Companion if I can get it to half-boot again. I'll post updates if anything happens.

stratos 2 doesn't start, display lights on, but doesnt show anything

Hi there,
I have a problem with my Stratos 2. After letting the battery to drain during sports, I'm not able to start it.
When I put the watch into charger, regular charging interface is visible and the battery charges to the full battery.
but if i try to start the watch (at any point, or after the battery is full) with the upper button, the display lights up, but doesn't actually load any screen at all. other button don't do anything, and if I press the upper button and hold - the display light just turns off.
is there any way of doing "mechanical factory reset" (as Im not able to get to the menu) or is there anything else I can try?
many thanks for any help, it will be very appreciated!
Matej
1. "Stratos 2" does not exist, it was never released (yet).
2. Try to get manually to fastboot mode, look for more info here and on YouTube. If it works correctly and bootloader is unlocked (you can unlock it in this mode as well) then you can try to wipe data/flash a new firmware. But if the watch is still under warranty and it wasn't voided, I would recommend that you get it replaced.
