have you experienced this issue: phone part working only after soft reset and only for one call or one data connection, after that even the phone seems connected to the network, I am un reacheable...
...and is taking very long time to conect to the network...
could this be a hardware failure?

I've noticed the phone not work until after I changed the band. I haven't noticed your issue. Check the band anyhow. The settings depends on your provider.

I have the same issue, The phone just stops working and the icon get an exclamation mark. Then I need to soft reset to get the phone working again
I don't know why but it seems that if you disable "HSDPA Switch" (in settings, open "HSDPA Switch" and uncheck the box, then Soft Reset), the problem disappears.
the exclamation mark means you don't have a signal. I've read here about updating the radio as the older radio seems to be better. I've had no problems with my reception yet. but do think the original radio rom was better.

Here it works perfectly. I use 1.45 radio ROM with WM6 from xda. I have set phone for auto/auto for band settings and have no problem. It always tries to connect with best possible speed HDSPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS. I keep the connection always on as my provider charges me for first 100 KB and then for each 1KB in one go. I can see that my signal is much better then in my Universal or in FS T830.
It was a hardware failure.
I'm waiting now for the phone replacement.

well its now happened to me twice where ive turned my phone on and the signal bar is red and when i go to settings mobile networks it says no sim is detected.
the only was i can fix it and get my signal back is to reflash my kernal Ninphetamine 2.1.3.
is there anyway from stopping it happening or fix the problem permanently?

hi guys ive got a wierd problem i can only use wifi for a given period of time lets say it can last 10 mins then suddenly it'll stop wrking, even though on my phone its saying its connected and i can see the wifi signal streght there but internet connectivity some how stops then i have to turn off and turn on wifi of my phone and i keep doing this all the time ive tried installing blade wifi fix and wifi keep alaive and no luck anybody has same problem? can any body share a possible fix? thank you so much!!

I am having a problem with my phone that I'm hoping isn't a radio issue. I live on the very edge of a signal and often totally lose it. However, moving just a few yards away from my house gives me a strong signal. The issue I'm experiencing is a message "Not registered on network" when I try to make a call. Sometimes simply putting the phone in airplane mode and then taking it out of airplane mode fixes the issue. Other times I have to restart the phone. Is there a setting I can change so the phone radio hunts for a signal once it loses a signal.
Can anyone explain why a weak signal would result in a "Not registered...." message?

Modem? I am not able to use my phone to make or receive calls. How is a modem involved? What don't I undestand?

Hello, I don't know what causes this problem but my brother's i9100 lost signal sometimes BUT nothing like "not registered to network" it shows full signals, it can send sms or it can use mobile data but can't get calls. I know it's not hardware related bacause when he reboot it, it fixes itself. Also this problem does not cause by location.
Might be a modem problem. Has your issue come up suddenly or did you recently flashed it with something?
it looks like modem problem. You may try to flash XXMS4 modem. Most probably it solves your problem
